I got a bachelors degree in sound recording technology. An og SM7 was commonly used in class and paid sessions alike, but I’m so surprised we never had a cloudlifter on hand. I can honestly say I’ll never use an SM7 or similar mic again without one. Plain and simple the cloudlifter makes your mic louder without compromise. For years I’d seen these advertised and thought I could go withoutii one but now I just think it’s silly I waited so long. If you’re on the fence about dropping a pretty penny on something with only one simple function, let this be your sign…It’s well worth it.

This product is an absolute must for any microphone that requires phantom power where you find you have to turn the gain almost all the way to the top on your interface. This device with no external power source will give you the headspace needed to be able to capture your audio with enough room to be able to play with its top end. It's like jet fuel for an engine in comparison to regular fuel. I never knew this device existed until I saw it on a youtube video. It has now given me such more headroom on my Shure SM7B mic. Absolutely love this product.

Couple things that really stood out to me. The construction of the product is very well made and solid. Also, love the easy way of plug and play is very simple straight to the point.
Finally, SUPER clean sound. I have the Rodecaster Pro and a podmic connected.... this product really stepped up my sound. As an up and coming podcaster thank you for this. 2 months in and going strong.
Worth the investment 100%.

I read reviews and decided to go ahead and get the Cloudlifter cl-1. It's supposed to bring out your voice more and stronger when used for recording and live performance. However every time I have used it and had the light on saying it's working, there has been no change whatsoever. So I'm wondering if it's not working at all or if I don't have it correctly plugged in. Either way so far it's an accessory for my mogami cable and nothing more. And yes phantom power was on. It works only with phantom power. And the indicator light was lit up. But who knows. If things change, I will let you know. Right now it's just an expensive decoration and would not really recommend

If you own a Shure Sm7b then you need to just buy this. Don’t think it over. Don’t compare to another lifter of clouds. It boosts the level so high and I couldn’t ask for a more pure signal.

Like many people, I bought this for my SM7B. It definitely gives it a boost, but it is awfully expensive for what it does. I didn’t want to mess around trying to save $50. I am not disappointed at all by the product. There was a mess up on AMS’ part on an open box one, and after I called 2 or 3 times it finally got worked out.

The Cloud Cloudlifter CL1 single channel inline mic activator is what it is. Give gives a signal boost to low signal mics. So you don’t have to crank your preamp all the way to get a good level. If you have any low signal mics, you should try one of these. It’ll be a great investment for anyone’s studio.

I am a musician / recording engineer and I have been seeing this product advertised and could not figure out how it could make a difference, I always had to use a noise gate to keep the noise (hiss) down on my vocals. I use a SM57 on my vocals because it's easy to set up and it just works and always sounds good in the final mix. Well I brought the Cloud Lifter and no longer am I using the gate, the Cloudlifter raised the the volume so I can turn down my mic pre and there is no audible noise. This was good money spent. Good product. I not only recommend but I am gong to bu a few more. I do mobile recording and will put these in line when doing so. You just plug it in and supply phantom power to it and that is all that is needed. It was just that easy.

The cloud lifter made recording with non-active Ribbon Mic’s so much cleaner, less gain = less floor noise and with more dynamics. Also on dynamic mics like an SM57 or Sennheiser E906, mic’ng Guitar and Bass cabs you still hear those crisp clear mids, but some low mids come through, not muddy lows mids really tight, warm low mids. So just using the SM57/E906 on the cabs I have less EQ’ng to do in the mix.

These are very useful and they sound great. There are a few options on the market to boost your mic signal and this is a clean boost and makes my vocals really shine and I do mostly heavy metal gutteral stuff but its just great for all applications You really must have one in your studio, everyone I know in the industry in Nashville has one of these.

Does whats it's supposed to, but for my setup I still have issues with hissing and background noise. It definitely helps though and you can definitely hear the difference. I have had to tweak my setup around it, but I think it's way better than what I started out with. I will need to test again when I purchase a different (solid state) recorder or preamp/iterface. I am satisfied, but not blown away.
