Used to use the ernie ball rock n rolls as they maintained the he same tone for the duration of being on the guitar but they were always so dull and lifeless. These nyxls stay sharp, clear, bright and snappy for as long as you keep them clean. A 3 pack will most likely last me 6 months with 1-3 hours played daily. Magic.

I've tried every string under the sun over the 4 decades I've been playing and these string are a very noticeable difference over their competition. Stay in tune longer... LAST LONGER (this is most noticeable) and fantastic tone. Try them out and I'm pretty positive you'll notice!

The NYXLs cost more but well worth it , I have 7 guitars and I hate changing strings all the time , sometimes I leave the NYXL strings on my guitars for up to 2 months and they still sound good and stay in tune , I refuse to buy anything else and I love the 9.5 / 44 gage that not to many string brands offer .

I've used D'Addario strings in different gauges for decades on different guitars. The NYXL 9-42 have been my go-to strings for quite a while now. They are consistent in manufacture, long-lasting, produce great tone, and stay in tune.

I've been using coated strings for the past few years, mostly Elixir brand. I bought these to try something new, as I was a D'addario player all thru the 90's.
I do like these strings better than Ernie Ball, I don't like them as much as the Elixirs. I didn't notice a big change in tone, and I like the life-span and slippery feel of the Elixirs much better.

These strings are durable and long lasting, just as advertised.
They supposedly also maintain pitch better, and I can say that I haven't had unusual tuning issues.
I can't really say that I notice any tonal differences, but they definitely don't sound bad.

I’ve used many different strings thus far (for Drop C) and none compare to these. Tension, playability, tone, etc, it’s all there with these!! I can’t recommend them enough to anyone looking for strings to use in Drop C or even B. I won’t be using any others, that’s for sure!

I hardly ever write reviews, but after changing out my strings, I no longer go out of tune! I have to say this, I have never had new strings go on and not “adjusted” a million times after breaking them in. I tuned these twice! I bashed on my guitar, and played hard to try and knock them out, and they stayed perfectly in tune. Made a believer out of me and I just ordered another set. If you have tuning issues, these might be the fix for you. I finally left the other company’s strings I’ve been playing for over 25 years for good!

These a great string!! Well worth the extra couple bucks as they are more stable and last longer than the regular XL’s. I have corrosive salt hands and play a lot of gigs; so the extra mileage I get out of these is most appreciated. The stretch out quickly and stay stable on every guitar I put them on. Highly recommend! Can’t go wrong with D’Addario.

I have been using these strings for about a year now, when I had to drop down to 8 gauge strings due to carpal tunnel in my left hand.
I wanted to go with a higher quality string since I would be using such a light gauge. The NYXL series does not disappoint.
They are extremely flexible, stay in tune, last a really long time and they sound incredible. I had concerns that I would be sacrificing tone, but this has not been the case.
Not only are the strings not aggravating my carpal tunnel, I'm enjoying the ease of playability and wicked vibrato and bends.
I wish I had made the switch to these strings much sooner.

These strings are excellent quality. They stretch in quickly and stay in tune very well. They have a springy feeling when bending, that make them a joy to play. They also have a really good clarity to them. I'd recommend these to anyone.
Now, the price... I think they are overpriced, by about $4 a pack. It puts them into the luxury string department for me. When I need new strings, these are tough to justify over a set of Dunlop's or GHS boomers. Of which, you can almost buy 3 sets for the price of one set of the NYXL's.
So, if you have a single guitar to replace strings, sure these are among the best! But if you have a herd of guitars to restoring... maybe not.

I switched from cobalt slinky to these because I heard a lot of good things and reviews about these strings. I wasn’t impressed. The strings to me sound not as bright as the cobalts. They sound dull. I will definitely go back to the cobalts.

I've been playing for 40 years and tried every string brand under the sun and the fly by night gimmick strings too, and nothing has kept my guitars in tune like these. They are worth the extra money you pay, because even on a floyd, once you got them stretched and locked in, you could drag that guitar behind a truck and it will still be in tune.
I won't use anything else.

These strings do what they're advertised to do. You can absolutely abuse these and they will stay in tune, they have so much stretch that it puts your mind a little more at ease regarding breakage. Plus they seem to last a good while too. I've used the NYXLs in various gauges for a couple of years now and they are the only round wounds that I'll buy.

These strings sound great and can take an absolute beating. I used them on a few different guitars, including one with a floyd rose tremelo, and never felt scared abut breaking 'em while bending and stretching like Richard Simmons in the 80's. They keep their tone for a bit longer as well.

At the cost comparison between these and xl - exl it's about even, being that these last 2-3 times longer and rarely fall out of tune. Also the increased magnetism of these strings will make your pickups "hot" in comparison to other similar string sets with amazing tone

Normally I use the D’Addario EXL120s. I thought I’d try these for one of my guitars that has tuning issues. It’s true what they say about these. They definitely help keep things in tune and they bend super easy! I’m pleased.

These are the best I’ve found so far and I’ve been playing for over 40 years. I use the “10’s” on my Strats and 335. I’m not as bad to cause corrosion as some people but I have not had any and I’ve been using these and replacing them for a year. Once they’ve settled in you have a very hard time knocking them out of tune. They feel and sound great. You owe it to yourself to try them!

These strings are incredible. I've always used D'Addario and then saw that they released these and to be honest, I was a little skeptical. Well, how wrong I was. Man, these hold their tune and tone so much longer than normal strings. I've been using them for over a year and have only broken one strings since. A friend of mine turned me on to NYX sales about a year ago. I’ve played roughly 70 shows since then and I’m only on my third pack. The NYXL is the first D’addario string pack I used. I used to use slinky until I experimented with these. The longevity is unparalleled. These strings have a warmer tone that is still snappy. Not to tin-like or metallic sounding.

I got to demo a set of these strings a few years ago before they were in general release. They stay in tune better - tune them, stretch them once and you are good to go! They just longer and sound better than any other string I have ever tried.

I love this strings!!!!
I was looking for some super strong strings that wouldn't brake when bend 2, 2 and half steps, I usually use the DR pure blues because they sound great and I love them however i was keep on braking the high E string so i decided to give the Daddario a try, well these are my new strings now they are strong as they gets, thanks Daddario and that's AMS for as usual great service, fast shipping and excellent selections!!

Nyxl is the only strings i play on my guitars. Light top heavy bottom gives heavy low end with tight clean highs. Can not recommend these strings enough. D'addario makes the best strings for electric guitars. Professional quality at a great price.

I’ve played just about every brand of strings out there. The NYXL’s last twice as long as ordinary nickel wound strings. They stay in tune and they maintain their tone.

I've never found better strings than these ,they are well made and consistent from pack to pack. They are very polished feeling to my touch compared to another Company that make rough feeling slunky strings. Very nice tone and long lasting.

I use these with a Gretsch and Jazzmaster. Good tuning stability and they settle in fast. Never had one break and I am heavy handed. Tone is good and feel is good. No superlatives here just a good set of strings that lasts me about 4-6weeks. 4 stars because I wish they were cheaper. I appreciate the consistency between packs though.

These are some of the best longest living strings that I have used over time. Having been a long time GHS guy, I took a look at these and the EB Colbalt strings, these are the ones by far, nice and strong with excellent life. Cobalts were too bright for me. I use the 10-52 for tuning to C Standard.

These are great strings
Quality is very good I have a high level of confidence in these after torturing them. I have tried everything short of water boarding them and have not got 1 to break.
The feel is great they bend like a dream
No complaints same tone as the more expensive strings I have used before these.
Absolutely. I was recommended these strings by a knowledgeable tech. I was a little apprehensive at first as the elixers suited me fine.I figured if its not broke don't fix it. Eventually I gave in and figured what the heck. after they were initially installed and tuned I played on them for approximately 30 mins with a fair amount of dive bombs/pull ups included then tested the tuning with a gogo clip on tuner. I was amazed. As the tech had told me they are the most stable strings he ever saw and now me too. I only had to adjust the g string about 1/2 a turn on a floyd fine tuner. Every other string was perfect. I have never saw that before on any strings usually you need to retune all the strings after 5 or 10 mins without even playing after installing a new set. After about another hour of playing I checked again and perfect. The next day first thing I checked it again expecting to find after about 9 hours the new strings would have stretched a bit and nope. Absolutely perfect tune. I find these string to have the best stability of any strings I have used. Had them on for 3 days short of a month at the time of this review and over that time I only had to tweak a couple strings twice and that was after a ridiculous amount of full step bending over about a 2 week period while I was learning a difficult solo. Theses are newer on the market once word gets around I expect these to go up several bucks.
