This is one of the most versatile compressors I have owned.
My only personal complaint is the awkward location of the DC port.
Some people might not like the touch controls but I think they're fine.

This is a great compressor. It’s like having several in one. It helps the stock pups on my Squier J sound way more even and keep more sustain. I haven’t spent a ton of time seeing what all it can do but I would lay for it just for the Fet setting. It does take a bit to get used to the touch controls.

This our purchase was my first compressor; however, in the past I would borrow a friend of mine compressor every time I would gig. What I love about this compressor is just how versatile it is and how much control you have. I’m still new to learning and understanding our compressor work and I really like how this product have the flexibility to get more finer tuning of the type of compression you want. The two features i like is 1: the three mode acts as three different types of compression and they even added their original compression into this pedal. 2: like all their other products you have the ability to plug it into your computer and use their software to further customize the pedal to your liking. Hands down Darkglass product are top quality and always delivers and exceed expectations.

I purchased this pedal 6 months ago to use on gigs. It has done very well giving me the sound I was looking for. Since it's a compressor, i decided to use it as an insert in my DAW. How impressed I was with how versatile this pedal is! I've used it on snare, kick, bass (of course) even lead vocal and it never disappointed. I don't even think that it's fair to have a pedal this inexpensive that can compete with the Universal Audio 1176 or SSL BUS compressors all in one product! The included software allows you to tailor attack times, release times, sidechain frequency. You can even set how the "time" knob affect the signal (eg: min attack / max release > max attack / min release). The range of tones this pedal gives is very impressive. The added software just puts it over the top! It's a great product.

Replaces many compressors with one tiny pedal.
All the built in models provide distinctly different flavors with subtlety or by adding color with compression all from the front panel knobs.
Get into the editor- I have barely scratched the surface- and you have a parameter tweaker's dream.
This one is staying on the pedal board.
Cheers to AMS and Darkglass for excellent service, quick delivery and an excellent product, respectively.

Excellent tone, easy to use once you understand how the "mode" operates (which can be updated via USB). High quality build (cool packaging) with silent switch should last. I really like it's ability to also act as a booster pedal for soloing when you don't need compression (like when using a fretless). Highly recommended.

I’m running this at the end of my signal chain before an xotic ep boost into a Marshall Jvm410hjs.
I just add a little compression to tighten up the low end on my 7 string & add sustain. Works perfect.
Lots of options & very well made. Plan to use in studio with bass as well.

I already had the Darkglass B7k ultra. I bought the hyper luminal and tried it both before and after the BK7. There is a significant difference in the punch and tone of the overdrive with the hyper luminal placed at the back end! Notes are clear and balanced with extended sustain. Also, the full range and bite of the strings are accentuated! I use stainless and love the bright clarity I am getting with this compression pedal. VERY pleased with the tone!
Buy this thing! You will NOT be disappointed!
