Product Review
Overall this is a good package, had it for 4 days and am quite pleased.
I was expecting bad quality because of the direct box factor, but surprisingly this bass is well made, with an imposing look and a good loud tone both with amplifier and without.
The gig bag is very soft but nice for the fact im mostly a hobby bassist. I like that it came with 4 picks, they may come in handy as much as i play the thing the first week alone.
The bass itself is light, but the strap will need adjusting as I feel unusual pressure on my injured left shoulder. The strings are thick, but they dont hurt your fingers that much.
Unamplified the tone is even pretty good, amplified even at lower volumes it has a nice "pop" but the amp needs to be adjusted out of box, since the tone is scarily muddy with the presets unmodified.
More than enough!
Needed tuning and I had to replace the E string, but not bad.

Don't Plan On Using the Guitar Bag!

Product Review
This guitar package was a gift for my son's birthday. He was happy with the guitar and how it sounded. The amp was what you would expect with a package, not great, but usable. The zipper on the guitar case was BROKEN! Called customer service and was told that you have to send the entire package back to get it replaced! Decided to just take a hit with that and order a new bag since he liked the guitar.

Great for beginners

Yes. It is holding up to great to daily play and the errors of a newby.
Good product at a good price.
The tone sounds good. But then again I've only been playing for 2 months. But i will say I've been able to play along with some Beatles songs and it seems to blend in with what the IPod has.
The neck and fret board are comfortable in hand. The wait is cumfortable even after an hour of practicing, but not so light that it bouces around with body movement.
Still learning what the capabilities of this thing is.
Great.
This was a plug and play set-up. As soon as I pulled it out it was ready to go.
