Product Rating Product Review I’ve always wanted a VH-4 but the price tag is a little unjustifiable for me. I’m a big Marshall guy which is the foundation of my tone. HOWEVER sometimes I would like a bit more gain and that famous Diezel low end thump. This pedal/preamp provides exactly that. I was quite a bit skeptical to be honest but have been blown away. I run this this as a preamp into the effects loop of a Marshall SV or into the power section of a Fryette PS 100. Both formats provide tone that is very close to the real thing. It’s not exact, but for the price compared to a VH4 head; it’s incredibly good. I was chasing the Adam Jones sound; and this has brought me much, much closer. The pedal is extremely user friendly and easy to dial in. Being able to switch between the two channels is extremely useful for when you want a variety of texture or simply just a little more. Very well thought out design and built rugged and well. Grab one, you won’t be disappointed!

Product Review I run the Diezel VH4 2 through the clean channel of my tube amp and dialed in killer lead and rhythm tones with this 2 channel preamp pedal. With separate volume and gain controls for each channel and shared EQ, presence and deep controls you can achieve two great tones in one killer pedal!!

Product Review This is the be all end all to all preamp pedal attempting to do any sort of high gain. I've had this pedal for some time now and it is my family's pick and now its going to be passed down from generation to generation.

Product Review It turns a Marshall into a Diezel. Great sound but not versatile. Its a one trick pony - Metallica, Tool etc. But that is what I bought it to do. Using it as a preamp.

Product Review But it is super close. With a little dialing in on a slightly dirty amp you can achieve pure Tool tone

Product Review I bought this pedal to add some punch to my Bugera 6262 Infinium. It does not disappoint! Great if looking for that "Tool" sound. Pedal is very loud, inhale it dialed at 1 it adds so much volume to my amp. Definitely made to play metal, anything with high gain. Love it!

Product Review Have only had minimal time on this preamp but first impressions are good. Build quality is great - just need more hours playing it to see what all is in there.

Product Review The VH4 pedal is one of thee best pedals you can get your hands on if you are a hard rock or metal player, think Metallica and Journey and you get the VH4s tonal range. Always wanted a Diezel amp, but cmon those bad boys are way expensive and this pedal can be had for under $200 from AMS. I love this and the Herbert as well together they round out my pedalboards boost and gain abilities. I love this pedal and run it through my effects loop where it sounds amazing....
