I really like this pickup. It's a bit different than all my other humbucker pickups, and I like it for that. It seems to clean up well with the volume knob. Very nice EQ curve. Versatile for days. I love it.

I have a Tone Zone installed on a single-PU EVH-style super strat and I couldn't be happier. I wasn't sure how good it was until I purchased a Wolfgang Standard and plugged it in to my rig. I quickly discovered the WG had half the volume of the ToneZone. Not saying the WG PUs are bad, just that on the standard model I was comparing them to, they couldn't hold a candle to the sounds I was getting out of the ToneZone on my SS. I returned the WG and spent the rest of the day playing on the TZ PUs.

I have been using DiMaggio pick ups for 10 years and I have never had any pick ups louder than the tone zone in the bridge they were great and they’re even better if you’re running a fuss.

i want to retract a statement from my previous review.the dimarzio f spaced humbucker will work with vintage f spaced bridges,if you get the pickup centered exactly, the e strings will be on the very edges of the pole pieces.also after much fiddlin i have found that using a 500k vol. pot. and a 250 k tone pot.with gibson wireing,will take away any harshness that a pickup has and will give a warmer sound with more bass,and still retain treble clarity.enjoy!

This is my all time fave.This pickup is great if you play very rich chords thru distortion.It is so clear that it almost sounds like a BBE maximizer.If you hate humbuckers with muddy mids and lows this is your best choice.
