Great Pedal

Personally, I think this pedal is great. Yes, I agree, it's not going to be exactly the same as playing through a "real" Mesa Boogie or Dumble or whatever....but since I didn't recently win the lottery, this is the next best thing.

I think this device was well thought out and am very impressed with absolutely everything I've tried with it with the exception of the sound. I would only use it if I were playing a gig where I didn't want to use my better gear e.g., outdoors with poor covering, at or near the beach, at a gig where I might be concerned about my gear getting trashed etc. The wah is particularly horrid IMHO but, as I say, at this price, it DOES have a use and is the reason I gave it three stars.

Does everything well, does nothing great. While it is a lot of fun and very cool, it does nothing as well as you would like. If you want to play around, it's fun. If you are going for a specific tone, it will not sound great. You are best served to get individual pedals and build the tones you want.

Not compatible with windows 10

Product Review
The pedal itself is awesome and very well made. The problem lies with their editing software. You have to hook up to your computer via USB to store or save your settings. You can technically edit your settings without hooking up but since the Knobs for every effect are different, you can't tell what knobs you are actually adjusting (I.E. phase depth, delay speed, etc) except through trial and error. But 2 years after the release of windows 10 and their website still has the same generic "we're working on it" disclaimer. Either digitech can't make their editing software compatible with windows 10 or they have no intention of doing so. I suspect they're just trying to sell off their obsolete products to unsuspecting buyers.

I've had this for years and have always enjoyed it, but recently I joined a band and within 4 weeks we had our first gig. I ran my RP 1000 through a PA system and once the volumes were good, this thing sounded great! I was also able to run a line to my small amp behind me for a monitor since I couldn't hear the PA so good while the band was playing. So in short, I am not one bit sorry I have this TANK (I've been stomping on it for some time and it is built tough). Good job Digitech!

Has The Best Of Both Worlds

Product Review
Amazingly robust construction. Mostly all metal with resilient vacuum switches. Allows you to have your amp's true tone without any coloring at all while providing you with its vast array of effects along with your own pedalboard patched in if you want. When required, you can apply its excellent modeling patches which sound great (it has an excellent acoustic patch that sounds incredibly like a dreadnaught). Like I say in the title, it gives you the best of both worlds. As a side note, I've dealt with Digitech's customer support in the past and they are second to none. Quick response, highly knowledgeable, and they consistently bend over backwards for the customer. Highly recommended, both the RP1000 and their service.

I'm giving this 4 stars because I still have a lot to get to but I used this at a gig 2 days after receiving it. If you're familiar with digitech multi fx's, then you can open the box and go. I did have to refer to the manual as to how patches are configured (in banks of 5). I haven't used it to its full potential but so far it's great and the time between patches isn't as noticeable as some say...to the point that you can't play out professionally. In case you didn't know, Jennifer Batten uses this.

Best Value In Multi Effect Pedals
By: Eduardo Rivera

Product Review
When comparing all its attributes with other multi effect units, this is the best value in the market. I use it with the four cable method. It allows me to keep my amp's lead channel tone while routing the time, modulation, and reverb effects after the preamp through the effect loop and the distortion and wah effects before the amp input. The beauty of it is that you can have the exact tone that you want with the push of a single button without having to do a ritual dance before a solo. The only down side is that it does not change your amp's channels. However, you can get a great clean sounds using the unit as a preamp and bypassing the guitar amp's preamp with only the push of a button and using the 4 cable method.
The only two things I would improve would be a better display for the preset names. 8 characters are not enough most of the time for specific preset names, however, it enhances your creativity in naming presets. The 2nd to make it change the amp's channels.

Very durable, love the stompbox style.
Haven't had it all that long, but I am pretty hard on it already and it seems to be just fine.
Your general opinion of this product.
Hands-down, the best multi-effects board I've ever used. Well worth the money, for sure.
It's much more user-friendly than one of my old Boss multi's and it has a ton of presets that I actually use, along with the option to load up a ton of your own. Connecting it to my pc was the easiest way to dial in the settings.
Great sounds, have it paired with my Peavey 6505 212 combo and a Schecter C1 Hellraiser FR and it's the perfect team.
Finish seems durable, and it came with a power supply...which is worth A LOT to me.
Took me about 15 minutes of reading to easily understand how to work all the functions, and I was producing awesome sounds in no time.

VERY WELL MADE, seems to be extremely solid.
Too new to comment on this.
Your general opinion of this product.
The RP1000 seems to be a very good value. The variety and usability are good and the styling and constuction are excellent. This was an upgrade from the Digitech GNX-4 and while I still need more time to learn the nuances, overall I am pleased with it.
Not really relevant to this device.
Good sounds out of the box and easy to modify and add new ones.
Unit is very well designed for looks and finish.
Usable but needed some customization of the sounds. This is easy to do however if at all familiar with multi-effects pedals.

fantastic, sounds great, built like a tank. create basicly any sound you want, or take pre-sets and make them your own, you have 200 ways to try and i really like that..Recording makes it easy at ur finger tips.
the feel is lite weight, just the rite size to carry to any where you play...also the controls are soo easy to understand and use. "LED" lighting makes it soo very easy to see at nite or day..Great!!!!!
its bright, snappy and smooth, and much, much more..i use this peddle on my 2 brownsvilles, and my fender telle., and the sounds that comes out are "priceless".
perfect..you can't ask for a better finish..grey on black...
perfect, out of the box...sounds are "second to none"..this is the only effects peddle i will ever need.

Was sceptical from owning previous RPs, that didn't last long. I am very impressed in every aspect. Build quality is great, the effects themselves are great (and numerous), very versatile. This is a great value for any guitarist.

Case is built like a tank and to avoid a nightmare when playing live on the same level as the crowd use right angle cables on the back of the unit.
As with all digitech products I am sure it will be dependable
I have not had it long enough to comment
Your general opinion of this product.
The RP 1000 is the most innovative product out there
It works great in a live performance situation the only thing I would change is a dedicated switch for the wah I keep turning it on while adjusting the expression pedal but I am getting used to it
The tone can be any way you want it extremly versatile
first rate
I was very surprised

I've played Digitech gear for 15 years and have never had an issue with any of the floor units. I did play Line 6 for a while, but for what I needed to interface with my amp this box is ideal.
People are not exaggerating when they say it's built like a tank. It is seriously beefy.
Your general opinion of this product.
This box was a godsend for me. I needed a single unit that would interface with my amp, placing the right effects in the right place in the chain.
I use it with my Mesa Mark IV and I have an MXR 10-band EQ in the stomp loop. I also added the extra footswitch for the looper function since it is quite fun to play with.
Editing or creating patches is stompbox simple.
The ONLY downside to the unit is that it does not have any MIDI functions whatsoever. If it did it would be the ULTIMATE floor unit.
Controls - easily accessible, not prone to being accidentally tweaked since they are recessed.
The Metal styled preamp models sounded a tad over-processed through my amp, which is to be expected, but the clean and bluesy ones were actually quite good.
Well, I do like all of my gear in black...
N/A but the pedal was tight but smooth, the switches are all very robust, and all of the connectors on the rear panel were very solid.

This thing is made very well. I have played BOSS pedals all my life and the RP1000 rivals their quality.
Can't say, but I am sure it will last for a long time with proper care.
Your general opinion of this product.
I sold my Boss GT8, big mistake. Replaced it with a Boss ME70, big mistake. And now I find myself in front of a Digitech RP1000. I have to tell you this thing is built like a tank and looks like something from the future. I wonder if they have one at the space station yet.
NA
Original patches are only a foundation for a gearhead to tweak. And since I have experience doing that, it is very easy. Tone quality...amazing.
Agai, this thing is so futuristic, it belongs in the space station. Even if just for looks....I love it.
