I really enjoy using the SDRUM pedal because I can make the beat I want when I want it. This beats other pedals that make you choose from pre-made beat patterns that aren't always what you want or get boring.

I was amazed at how good this sounded, and how responsive it seemed to be. The little drummer in this box is working his butt off.
With a simple cable it's possible to have the SDRUM output MIDI sync data. I use it with an EHX 95000 looper and it's perfect.

Sometimes it’s cool, sometimes it can’t keep a tempo... making it completely worthless. Be halfway through your jam when it suddenly loses the beat. I’d imagine that’s why I keep seeing this pedal for $50 now after paying over twice as much for it. Anyone wanna trade?

I purchased for a writing tool , so I could get quick ideas at least recorded to a decent backbeat . I think it will work out just fine for that . May be fun for some little jam sessions

very slight learning curve. I read the manual before I got it, but once it arrived I forgot what I read! lol. it is easy to use, then it is easy to add a little extra to the beat you create. compared to my sr 18, it is a far quicker thing to use, plus I can play looser rhythms and it adds extra flavor to that. people will complain with lack of syncing to things, midi, blah blah blah. record the beat first then lay down tracks. I have my beats going and sync my ehx 22500 to it and play a guitar part over that and loop it. for recording purposes, I would record the drums first then just record each track after. for quick ideas it is priceless. the rebate price at ams of 99 dollars is amazing, and great customer service as always.

I bought this and a jamman solo xt because of the capability of syncing the two. There is a communication issue that Digitech is aware of but doesn't plan on fixing. The first measure of the loop will randomly repeat. at the 28 sec mark you will hear the glitch.

The idea is good. The execution is not that great. Drum and cymbal sounds are ok. The interface with the push dials and all the LEDs is more fussy than I care to deal with. if you're a gadget person and love fiddly things this may be for you. Could be fun for practicing with if you like the patterns and sounds. I didn't.
