Product Rating Product Review I have to agree with the previous reviewer all the way around. I have to have flatwounds due to severe RA and leftover numbness from a stroke in my left hand. Roundwounds eventually cut my fingers. I have a Hofner Beatle bass with Labella's and a Fender Mustang PJ with Rotosound 77's. These were a experiment as the other brands were difficult to find. I have never used Dunlop before. These stand right next to the other brands and I didn't have to go to 35-95 due to the RA. As soon as these arrived I installed them immediately on my new Gibson SG Standard bass and was happily surprised. Flexible, light, and smooth. Yes a bit shinny but a small trade for playability. I believe these are my strings from now on because I also like the slightly brighter tone. Once again Thank You AMS you came through again!

Best Flats I've ever Used

Product Review I was looking for a set of flat wound strings for my Ibanez Talman short scale bass, and AMS happened to offer these on their site, so I decided to give them a shot, even though they cost slightly more than the Rotosound flats I've used on other basses for the past 4 or 5 years. I have to say, these are the best flats I've ever used, and I think it's worth the extra couple of bucks that they cost! I didn't have to break them in at all, which I would have to with the other brand, which means they don't feel stiff, and have a low tension, at least in feel. Mind you, this is a short scale, so I don't know how the long scale ones will feel, if any difference. Very smooth on the fingers, but they also have a bit of a brighter tone to them, at least compared to the Rotosounds I've used. They're not exactly as bright as rounds, only a little bit, but very smooth. Maybe they'll darken with age, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, if you like flats. They certainly sound and play nice now.
