Product Review It's a awesome noise gate. I dig the flexibility of the switches. And seems transparent off and on.One of the best noise gates out there in my opinion! Will definitely recommend to my musician friends! ??

Product Review This pedal is great, takes a little messing around with to figure out the sweet spots in the settings to clean up the access sound while not losing any tone at all, but when you find it, it works amazingly.

Product Review This is one of those pedals that you don’t realize you need(like the buffer pedal was for me)until you try it. Me personally, I only use it during solo work. It does what it should, keeps things nice and quiet. Rick

Product Review This is my first noise gate device and I must say it is well worth it. The usual MXR high quality build; feels like it will last forever! I have a lot of pedals on my board and this device really quieted the buzz and hum down. Really impressed!

Product Review Play live 3 to 4 days every week at all 3 or our church campuses and I have a very large pedal board and tube amps. I have used 5 different noise gate pedals and this one works the best!! Will not affect your tone and works like a charm!!! Buy this pedal!

Product Review Hands down this product works. If your looking for a gate that is easy to use and worth the money look no further. I've used this pedal for a couple of days now and it has killed all of my noise issues and does NOT effect my tone. Placement of this pedal is important and goes with out saying that finding said placement can be a tedious task but once in your signal chain you notice a big difference.

I have five MXR boxes in my pedal chain. "Nuff said. It definitely works. You have to mess with it a bit to really get it dialed in. I'm still in the process of doing that. Your general opinion of this product. For the most part, this will silence the various noises that can emanate out of your amp when you use a big pedal board like I have (9 effects, a ten band EQ plus this pedal). However, it did have some trouble overcoming feedback from the higher gain settings on my Duncan Tweak Fuzz. Just got it, though, so still getting to know it. It doesn't suck tone that I could tell. It can hamper the size of output at times, though. So you have to push your amp's master volume a little higher to compensate. Not a big deal. It's a grey box. Not flashy, but whatever works.

2+ years and I'm still ripping on it without any complaint. Your general opinion of this product. The MXR smart Gate noise reduction pedal is a must for any guitarist wanting to control tightness and response of your chunks, and high's and feedback when you open up for solo's!! Brings out the best of what your guitar and amps are outputting. Definitely mess around with where you place your noise gate in your chan!!! I found to utilize it best via running it from your fx loop send and return. NEW!

Don't waste your money... Buy a ns2

Mxr makes quality gear however every one that I've bought since about 03 seems to only last 1-3 years. However, I am in two bands that play shows quite often. This puts a lot of strain on your gear. Regardless of how well you move it and protect ir. I also play on average of 2-3 hours per day. like anything else mxr - 1-3 years playing out - 3-5 years at home steady use. Your general opinion of this product. This thing sucks tone and most importantly it sucks your mids... Unless you play scooped mid metal through solid state equipment this thing is just horrible. Buy an ISP decimator if you play metal. Anything else just use the ns2 you will save your mids. I've been playing around 16 years now and 7.5 of those have been in bars and venues. tone sucker... i couldn't seem to find a happy medium with this thing. It's not like my ns2 that I just leave the same for lead and clean channels. It will eat the decay off of modulation effects unless virtually left wide open. Some might have had better results with it that I did but most won't mention exactly what kind of music they play. I play everything from yngwie, pantera, srv, clapton, trower... I'm not your typical guitar player that is in a funk.. I'm a gear hound and I know tone. great paint - nice decals - good paperweight great if you don't mind losing your mids and having to switch wide open when using modulation effects.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
5 Great

FEATURES:
It reduces noise effectively and does more than I could ever need! I think. Oh and by the way, to the guy who wrote the review warning people about how bright the blue led is. I don't like you. Like all people, When I turned it on, I looked right at it (thanks to your review) and I am still seeing blue streaks. Thanks lol

EASE OF USE:
Less is more!!!!! 5

VALUE:
Totally worth it! 5

SOUND:
Ok, I read the other reviews before I bought it, If you are addicted to turning knobs then you can ruin your sound with this. Less is more. You are trying to eliminate excess noise and feedback. I have mine barely on but with the led, you can tell when it's working. It will eliminate your sound if you turn it up too much. Baby her.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
Just like all MXR pedals, built like a tank!

FEATURES:
It's pretty incredible how the gate is disengaged while playing and then reengaged as soon as you stop.

EASE OF USE:
Just select the level of gate needed and dial in the trigger level.

VALUE:
Yes, totally worth the price to lose the hum of my amp and the feedback from hot pick-ups.

SOUND:
I have to use the full setting in order to cut out the feedback. Even with the trigger level turned all the way back it cuts off notes held longer than 10 seconds.
