I am very pleased with the MXR M68 Uni-Vibe.
Pretty simple to use . Features three knobs. Speed , Depth and Level. I like the fact you can add a little more gain and get a boast . Has a small button to activate vibrato or chorus. The uni-vibe effect sounds authentic and you can also get nice swirling chorus effects. The unit has a nice tone and just love this effects pedal.

Doesn't sound a thing like a real photocell vibe

It doesn't sound bad if you haven't played a photocell Uni-Vibe style pedal(this is analog but, uses FET's rather than photocells). It's pretty much a mod'ed version of the MXR Phase 90 that's been "tuned" to sound more like a real Uni-Vibe. So, it still has more of a "phaser" sound over the Uni-Vibe swirl/throb. Also, seems like the speed knob starts getting pretty fast before you get to 12 o'clock and I couldn't find any settings I liked on the vibrato side at all. If you do get this be sure to put it before distortion/fuzz, it will make the effect sound better and not as muffled. YMMV

I had one of these years ago and sold it off but always missed having one on my board. So, I bought this one and I have loved it ever since! All of the sweeps and swirls you can ask for whether deep or just a touch on a clean or crunchy tone!

This is the pedal that every serious classic rock and modern blues player must have. Think of the iconic guitarists that you love and this will get you closer to that Hendrix nirvana sound and even the Jimmy Page 95 and 98 Page and Plant tour guitar effects pallet. Fantastic.

Product Review
With all the groovy mojo of its larger and more expensive counterparts, MXR's Uni-Vibe has managed to entice guitarists looking for an affordable yet tasty alternative to many of the space hoarding units selling at a higher price, with its own cool take on retro sonic territory bringing much delight to six-stringers everywhere.

This pedal is very versatile. From a shimmering vibrato to smooth chorus or phaser, and back to whacked out univibe. I love it. Takes some time to really tune it in and get to know it but it's a blast to play with.

I'd tried three different chorus pedals, none had the rich sound I was searching for. A friend suggested the Uni Vibe and I could not be more happy.
