I really like the eq section, the compressor dialed in pretty well, the distortion is very usable, but... The noise gate lags like crazy, then just sizzles and squeals. Tried two different basses, one with active eq and one with very old school single coil Jazz pups, with same result. The switches pop noticably, DI output is hyper touchy, etc. I'm a fan of ehx stuff and I really wanted to like this one, but I guess when you pack that many features in at this price point you have to cut some corners in component quality...

This preamp is doing exactly what I expected it to do. Clear blend of dry and wet signal. Love the option of where to place the distortion in relation to eq. The noise gate is a big plus!

I had been using the common DI straight into my Scarlett 18i20 with mediocre sound quality so I loaded up the track with a bunch of plugins but never could get the sound I wanted know matter how hard I tried or what I did. I figured this product would probably help, certainly couldn't be any worse. I received this box today and just tried it out and all I can say is WOW what a difference. I didn't even have to play with the settings much, right out of the box I got that crisp high end, thumping low bass with no distortion (unless I used the distortion effect). The built in compressor gave me that extreme "pop" when I pulled off, I play R&B with lots of slap and the built in gate and compressor gave me the sound I've been looking for since I started recording on the pc. I'm old school, been playing for over 50 years and have always recorded in the studio where the engineers always know how to get my the sound I like. Since pc recording I had trouble duplicating that studio sound. You yo

Very easy to use. Can get a great tone on the fly. Noise gate is a definite plus. I love having everything I use in one pedal!
