Too noisy and too much "clack"

Product Rating Product Review EHX makes some great gear. But I returned this pedal almost immediately due to the intense increase in noise and the inability to get good compression without the country twang "clack" as it clamped down on the notes. I did like the ability to get sounds like a cello, but the drawbacks were just too much. Great clean tones are critical for my sound and I went through four different compressors until settling on the perfect one: MXR M76 Studio Compressor: which allows immediate compression without the clack and up to an 20:1 compression ratio which also works as a limiter. Just like highend rack gear. So get the MXR M76 Studio Compressor and pass on the EHX.
