The Electroharmonix Soul Food is truly a hidden gem amongst guitar pedals. I have been pursuing an overdrive pedal that provides some grit, but does not approach hard distortion or fuzz. This gadget fits the bill and maintains perfect clarity and a wonderful balanced tone. Moreover, after reading many online articles, this pedal has a hidden asset. When switched on, but with the gain turned fully down, the
Soul Food gives a voice boost and tone clarification similar to a Klark mic booster device for vocals. This glorious effect is so significant that I now leave the Soul Food engaged most of the time. I will purchase a second one for my back-up pedal board very soon.

Once I opened the SF up and swapped it to buffered I love this pedal. Very transparent it's how I use it, but i push my TC Cinders through it and gets really distorted. Very versatile.

Clean boost that makes everything sparkle. Set Drive & Treble at 12. The Vol about 10:30. Every amp setting on the Katana sounds better, has endless sustain. The amazing thing is the Clean channel is at the same volume as the drive channels. Makes the amp overdrive better in every way. The Lead and Brown channels chug with the Soul Food. Stack this pedal with your rig and it will sound better. You can't go wrong with this pedal!

this is without question the best sounding light to medium overdrive I have ever heard ! it works good as a boost also,but you have to tweek the treble to get rid of a little bit of sludginess. for the dough ,this thing is awesome. and it blows away far more expensive units. you do not always get what you pay for ,sadly !

Price... yes it's very good.
Tone...yes, it's got it.
Simple to use...yes, 3 knobs
Another winner from EHX. Love their stuff because it's priced right and you get more in terms of tonal quality and build quality than you pay.
I also a Nano Tubes from EHX,with an ASAT Special, Teles, some delay etc. Both get me from boost overdrive to thick and creamy. I use one as a boost and the other as a heavier drive. Bam, Im' a happy player. Been at it for 35 yrs. Music school etc.

Very versatile....sweet as honey-butter, built like a tank ....turning the gain down and volume up produces an excellent boost ....turn volume down and move the gain up gradually to experience many shades fattness and sustain without being too hairy !

I bought both the EHX Soul Food & the Boss Blues Driver Waza BD-2w. The each sound very good on their own but when you stack these two pedals is when the tones are fabulous. I like the BD-2w into the EHX Soul Food, I get comments all the time on the tone. Playing with a Ibanez AJD91 semi-hollow with MoJo Tone 59 Humbuckers

Received this pedal over the weekend and I really am enjoying it. I use it as a clean boost at the moment along side my EHX Glove but can see myself using it to add some grit in certain playing settings. I heard rave reviews about this pedal before purchasing and I can honestly say they were spot on, it’s worth giving this a shot

Bought it for my guitarist. He activated this pedal for a solo and BAM what a sound. I want to buy one for my rig and replace my tubescreamer after hearing his. The power plug on adapter is normal size not a bigger tip like most EHX. So you can throw it on any pedalboard.

EHX always comes through. This does the equivalent of taking your tone out and getting a makeover. Fundamentally it is another Klon clone but it has a tone all its own. Stop reading and just get this one. You’ll thank me later.

i would purchase this pedal 2 times over. its one of my favorites and it will always be on my board. Responsive and transparent overdrive. it can get into disortion territory with the drive cranked or be used as a clean boost with the drive completely off...just luv it
