Professional sounding studio quality mic at an affordable price point! I read the reviews and bought the EV mic because of the price. After using it for on air broadcasting, Webcasting and voiceover I am very impressed. Only negative is I had to purchase a cloud lifter to boost the sound output.

This is a classic mic. Works great for pretty much every application you can throw at it. For my application, it is a remote lesson mic and a live performance mic (for sax). It is a great open sounding mic, and it's Variable D stuff makes the low notes NOT stand out.

In the world of broadcasting and podcasting, there are two mics that rule. One is the Shure SM7B, and it's a fine mic but it does have a rather dark tone. If you prefer a brighter, cleaner tone you must go with the RE20. Simply put, this is the best mic I've ever owned in every respect, and it is worth every dollar. Put this mic in a shock mount on a boom arm and you're as well-equipped as many of the top broadcasters and radio stations.
The noise floor is appreciably low and there is little to no proximity effect on this mic so you'll be clearly heard even if you're right up on the mic. It's off-axis noise rejection is stellar. Again, worth every dollar.

We didn’t just purchased it for podcast, but we also use it for one of our main vocals during worship recording and it has changed the cuality a lot.. we love the sound we’re able to get from it.. we’re definitely getting a second one.

There is a reason thst I spent the extra money. This is THE Mic used nationwide for radio broadcast. Super clean audio, has the clarity of a condenser, but doesn't pick up all of thst undated noise. Get the package deal with shockmount and cable. Well worth the extra $50. AMS is who I buy ALL of my gear through!

This is a great mic for voice overs or loud screaming vocals, but I use it more often on instruments. It can be a great kick mic, but it also really shines on a bass cab, trombone or French horn. Since it has barely any proximity effect, you can stick it right up close and get a balanced sound.
