I got this to pair with my DN and could not be happier with it. Sampling is easy and working on the sample gives you great control. These noxes do have a learning curve but there is enough demos and literature out there to male it pretty user friendly. I would highly recommenf this to anyone looking to make some noise!

I can't even begin to describe how versatile and amazing this sampler is. It quickly became my main hub for full on sound design/manipulation and MIDI control. Ultimate powerhouse. Definitely recommend to anyone interested in sampling, drum machines, grooveboxes and music gear in general. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic sampler and sequencer

Where do I even begin? This machine is absolutely jam packed with features. Great sequencer, amazing sound design, classic Elektron workflow. That being said, there is a STEEP learning curve, in my opinion. I've had this box for about 7 months now and I STILL feel like I am barely scratching the surface. Great performance tool, but a bit disappointing there is no song mode. I was worried about diving into a sequencer because it can feel a bit too repetitive, but the Digitakt takes that notion and turns it on its head with all the conditional triggers you can set. Fully recommend buying, but be prepared for a lot of learning and menu diving.

Coming from having the TR-8S as my primary drum machine, the Digitakt definitely took some time to adjust to in terms of workflow and understanding all of the features it has. However, once you get over that initial learning curve it's an absolute blast! So much power in such a small package with endless ways to manipulate the samples and create new sounds. Has easily become some of my most used gear.

I really love this thing. It's now my favorite piece of hardware. I just leveled up from a DrumBrute Impact because it was lacking the depth and functionality. Really impressed with all the features, and ease of use. I wasn't anticipating the feel of the pads, but the "clicky clack" texture under my fingers feels good helps me speed through the different menus and page. Sampling is quick and easy, multiple ports on the back to fit with any analog set up or DAW. I love it. If you're considering getting one, highly recommend.

I’m still learning to use this but from what I learned before videos come in to play the Digitakt is pretty intuitive. You can quickly come up with ideas for tracks and use this box as the brains of your DAW/DAWless setup. Just scratching the surface is more than enough for casual use but really digging into the programming takes it over the top. Cool piece of gear.

Brand new to making electronic music and was recommended to get this, and no lie it was the Best decision I’ve made in a while. Took me sec to get used to the controls but everything is such a breeze, especially with all the short cuts. Im no where near where I want to be but I can’t really think of anything that this thing won’t be able to do.

Swedish Modesty Strikes Again – Jantelegen!

The Digitakt is described as a drum machine and sampler. Yes, it does those two things...and then some. If you're willing to accept a learning curve as high as Kebnekaise, you'll find the Digitakt is a beatmaker, sampler, synthesizer (of a fashion), master clock for hardware synths, special friend to DAWs and plugins (via Overbridge). The 8 available MIDI tracks open up a universe unmatched by lesser hardware. Already had a Digitone, hooked them up for things obscene and beautiful. I'm into designing soundscapes rather than danzmusik, so I thought the Digitone wasn't a fit for me but bought it anyway, gearhead logic, I now stand corrected. It and the Digitone are at dead center of my workstation as I write. Also, not sorry for forcing you to search for things about Sweden.

this thing sounds great. Its going to take a while to make it part of my workflow as there is a lot packed into it and the learning curve is rather much.....then again, songwriting is my focus so, I'm not really familiar with making beats. I did have to do a factory reset once when I couldn't get sound out of it.....not sure if it was operator error, though.

I’ve had the Digitakt for a month now. I watched many hours of YouTube tutorials for months before I got one t. I can only nw say I can access the majority of things this box can do. (Still haven’t gone into the LFO page).
I mostly needed a polyphonic midi sequencer for my DAW-less set up, to replace my Beatstep Pro (which is monophonic and only has 3 tracks vs DIgi’s 8 Midi tracks ). I also figured I could sample in many parts from my heat to the sample tracks and leave gear at home for a smaller live set up. It will do all of that but moreover it’s helping my sound evolve as develop a feel for it as an instrument that plays well with others.

Everything ya need to know is in the manual or YouTube but once you get going with this machine it’s so much fun and the stuff you can do is endless. Every producers gotta own at least one piece of elektron gear and the digitakt should be your first.

What an awesome piece!!
This compact marvel is something special. I’ve owned many drum machines and samplers from a variety of manufacturers including Akai, Emu, Alesis, Boss, Roland, MFB, etc.
And let me tell you, Elektron does something special.. It’s not just the amazing sequencer with parameter locks. But there is a good feel; and the sound that you get is unique. The tactile interface and innovative design ties in with sampling ability- SKY is the limit!!
Highly recommended!! Enjoy!

This has made it so easy for me to do... pretty much anything. Jamming standalone or hooking it up to another device is so simple. It’s size is great for mobility too, so working anywhere
isn’t a hassle. The preset sounds are already great sounding and make it easy to create right of the box. The Elektron sequencer is amazing and I find that it helps me when I run into a creative wall. There’s so many ways to create deep intricate patterns and music off of a device that seems like it will only handle the basics at first. This went from being an add-on to being the focal point of my setup in about.....3 says or so. I’ve owned MOCs and Maschine and something about this just takes the cake for me.

Product Review
I have owned the Digitakt for about 4 months now. I am loving working with this instrument! The build quality is really good. The learning curve is a bit steep, but after a few hours working with the manual and the many useful YouTube vids, its making sense now. I love the trig conditions and parameter locks. Its a great way to make a 4 bar pattern sound fresh and varied and just a little random.
Its a small footprint, which is great for taking out of the studio, it fits right in my computer bag quite easily!
The onboard sounds are really good, but there a not that many.I upgraded to 1000 sounds, and that process, although a little confusing (sys ex files) did go fine, and now I have tons of sound options.
The effects are good and super helpful, I love the reverse reverb sounds on hats. And the filters sound great!
I am super happy with this drum machine, and I can see using it for years!

I first got introduced to this unit at a friend’s house. For a while, I was doing research on samplers and trying to determine which would be best for me. Previously, I owned an Akai MPC 500, Akai S950, and an E-MU EMAX. I was looking into buying a Akai MPC Live, but after using my friend’s Digiakt, I was hooked! Sound quality is superb and punchy, and it’s cheaper than the MPC Live. Now, I’m not knocking the MPC because I was a avid Akai user, but for my current situation, the Elektron Digiakt works for me!

Product Review
I don't have a lot of experience with samplers, but I found the Digitakt easy enough to use once I managed to get used to the different copy and paste button combinations. This thing feels made to bang out beats quickly and all of the parameter locks and conditional trigs make adding variation a breeze. Its really not very difficult to turn a 1 bar pattern into an 8 bar pattern using just the conditional trigs.
However, its not perfect. The file management system on the Digitakt can be cumbersome to navigate (though swapping out samples is a breeze once you've managed to locate and load your samples into your current project). The free Elektron Transfer software for loading samples to and from your Digitakt works, but its a little lacking(definitely check out crunch/elk-herd for a free, more powerful alternative). Also, still no Overbridge! If Overbridge had been available at the time of this review with even half the features promised, I would have given this product 5 stars.

Getting to know the Elektron Digi--- range has really changed the way I make music. More hands-on, less computer! With a large but finite set of features, this box gives me control over the rhythmic elements of my jam. In my setup, I use the Digitone as my master control and sync Digitakt. Digitakt controls the rhythm and several outboard midi drum and tone units. The flexible trigs and parameter locks keep thuoings interesting and evolving!

Product Review
I’ve had this drum machine for close to a year now. It’s one of the funnest drum machines to program grooves on. Really easy to use once you figure out the interface and the drums sound however you wish for them to sound.
The only reason I’m knocking off a star is because overbridge is still not available and I’ve had a few issues. Updating the system is not simple. When usb is connected to a computer the unit can lock up and appear to be “bricked” with a black screen/jumbled text. I’ve fixed the issue by powering down and disconnecting the usb cable.
When controlling a keyboard thru midi there can be issues as well. It may be the midi settings on my keyboard but sometimes a note will trigger the digitakt to go haywire, requiring a reset.
Outside of those issues, it’s a great machine and worth holding onto despite its quirks.
