Product Review
This pickup is similar to doing the 18v mod thing with the 81…it does have its own thing going though! Very aggressive, tight low end, mids are cronchy, and highs are nice and sizzly! Cuts through a mix like a hot comb over nappy/tangled hair!

It’s a fuller body with scorching mids, clean highs. Made even better with a tube amp.

I've used the standard emg 81 for years and loved it but,at times, I wanted less compression and more dynamics. That's what this one offers. Everything that made the original great is there but this really adds more versatility.
It's tight, focused and stays clear no matter the amount of gain but it does great with lower gain settings to. I know most of the people that buy this are metal players but don't think it not work for classic rock or blues. And with the ease of swapping one EMG for another you can be up and running in a few minutes.

i really do like there sauterless system, it takes most of the severe work out of installation. Yet, in the installation of my own emgs for my guitar, the routing to the output jack was too small. My guitar's fault, but ya know, every guitar is made differently. and sautering the output was no big deal.
Your general opinion of this product.
well, i do have to say, it is an amazing pickup. very hot but still a little passive sounding, so you get a really nice even tone out of it. it's not overpowering, i love the fact that, for a bridge pickup, it's not too twangy. It's a really even sounding pickup,
it's really versatile, you can push it soo much, and it still holds up to the clarity.
for it being really even, you do get your metal out of it. I'm the type of player that plays just about every genre, but the way this is made to be played is for screaming tone. Just the way i like it. Same though, i have a love for clean and soft, and by clean this pickup produces clean and clear. most of all it takes the mud out of metal.

EMG has never let me down before
I dont know I got it in today.
Your general opinion of this product.
It is an excellent pick up for ANY styke of music. But I dont recommend it for a guitar with a five way toggle. I tryed putting this pickup in an ibanez rg model and ended up having to install a 3 way toggle. Which means i had to drill out the toggle.
The pick up has plenty of head room. Use it for any thing
