Had these for going on three years

I run two of these and two Texas heat in a 412. After three years, they still sound perfect. I’ve ran them on almost any amp you can think of. Mark V, triple rec, orange thunder, it doesn’t matter the wattage or volume, they sing. You might be able to spend more on a speaker, but I promise you, you don’t have to.

Really an all around great speaker. Voiced very much like a vintage 30 but highs are less harsh. Great product and fast shipping as always

Bought this speaker for EHX 212 cabinet paired with a MOW to give it a British voice. Together they give that great Brit punch while also staying well rounded and balanced. Sounds fantastic.

you can read endless forums and reviews comparing this to certain celestions, The bottom line is this is an efficient speaker with minimal break up until pushed hard. has a stiff cone requires actual break in to hit the sweet spot. a mid voiced speaker that cuts in a band mix well without the fizzy and thin top end.
I have this speaker paired with three amps currently. it replaced a stock jensen in a fender deluxe reverb reissue, replaced a stock celestion 70/80 in a DSL40-c and put one in a Marshall 1x12 paired with a Marshall Origin 20H.
Takes pedals like a champ, a bit more fidelity than an old style Jensen or green back, but less than a 70/80 or a Celestion Lead 80.
speakers will fine tune an amp and give it a lot of it's character. Knowing what your looking for in the tone or what shortcoming you are trying to fix goes a long way when it's time to choose an upgrade.

The Govenor being the eminence "equivalent" to the Vintage 30 was quite a bit closer in sound than I had expected and I am very happy with it.

As usual Eminence has delivered! Very young this I love about the “British sound” with none of the harsh frequencies. They do need some break in time but, even out of the box they were great. I’m turning all my band mates on to these!

Honestly by themselves I don't know if I'd really like them. Very bright speaker paired with my pickups (2 guitars have Gibson 57 classics, one has SD Saturday Night Specials) but when ran together with my orange crush pro 4x12 can with the stock VOTW speakers they compliment each other tremendously.

Great investment! It brought my 30 year old Peavey Bandit 112 back to life. Still in the breaking in period but man, awesome mids, and crisp highs (not piercing) just as mentioned on other reviews.

Built like a anvil.
Your general opinion of this product.
The Governor is a great rock/blues speaker. Good bite, gets nasty and keeps the definition and focus. Had a Celestion 70/80 in my Blackstar combo and extra cabinet. Decent speaker but the Eminence weighs at least three times as much, larger magnet. This speaker can handle the horsepower. Wonderful purchase.

This speaker handles gain really well. I play load and these speakers can handle it.
First class.
Awesome, but after you put a few hours on them they get a little sweeter.

Outstanding - I should note, for better or worse, that before I decided to make the switch I called AM's tech advice, and the tech actually tried to talk me out of the switch - that the new speaker would not be different enough from the old one. He recommended that I buy a pedal instead. I don't fault him for this, but I do believe good tone starts from the top down and can't be built-in later. I'm glad I did not follow his advice. Pedals cannot give you what a good amp will.
Looks robust enough.
Your general opinion of this product.
I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe which had its nice tones, but in general I was left wanting in the amp. I decided to either look for a new amp, or try a bit of a make-over. Opting for the make-over I bought this speaker to go along with the basic Vanden Berg mods (google them). I am absolutely thrilled with the results. The amp is much more controllable and the sound has lost its 'edginess' - much fuller, creamier, and articulate.
Sort of a hi-fidelity version of the old Celestions
Outstanding - packaged very well.
