Product Rating Product Review The Casino is a great guitar. Looks great. Sounds great. Plays great. It sings like a bird. The deal AMS offers was just too good to pass up. I wanted the Natural finish but ended up with the Vintage Sunburst. I got a Epiphone Hardshell Case for free with it. You can’t beat that.

Product Review I recently bought this guitar. I was pleased with the weight, sound, finish, and overall "vibe". The P 90 pickups sound super clean, and each string stands alone. As a side, my go to guitar for decades has been an ES 335 with humbuckers. I did change the strings to Ernie Ball Regular slinkys (ma fave 10s). I also adjusted the action and intonation. I prefer lower action than what most guitars come with from the factory. No biggie. Love the guitar, and for the price, it can't be beat.

Product Review Just received my new Epiphone Casino Archtop Hollowbody electric guitar and let me tell you, It's everything I hoped it would be!! I love the light weight and the way it feels in my hands. I love the tone of this instrument, too! Whether I'm playing jazz or Rock it just has the sound I want. The Casino came all set up and it is perfect!I christened it with the "Get Back" solo and I knew I had a real fine guitar to add to my herd. I got the natural as I had just come off the Get Back movie. You've got to play this guitar to believe how great it sounds. You won't be sorry. I proudly as it to the hear which also just happens to include the Epiphone Casino Coupe and the Epiphone Johnny A. Man, I'm in guitar Heaven!!!

Well built and no flaws or issues that I can find. I love playing this thru my 65' Fender Bandmaster or 67' Bassman for those vintage guitar tones. Hands down the best guitar that Epiphone makes.

Product Review The Epiphone Casino has been played by some of the most iconic guitar players through the years. It’s just one of those guitars that has had staying power. It plays like that too; the feel, the ease for chording and note bending along with the great looks it has are unmatched for the low price. It’s capable of holding its own with high end guitars on any stage to this day after all these years since it was designed. Every player should have one in their collection because it’s one you will keep picking up and playing.

Product Review I could not be more pleased with this guitar purchase. The build quality and fit and finish are spot on. The tone this thing makes is incredible. I had debated on this Casino or the new worn series. The differences (pick-ups and neck shape) are pretty minimal but the finish on this natural really puts it over the top...the pictures do not do it justice. This is my first purchase from AMS and I could not be more pleased. It was well packaged and the shipping was fast. Highly recommend the Casino and AMS!

Product Review The Casino has major tone for jazz, blues and rock and roll. It weighs about 5 evenly distributed, comfortable pounds. The neck playability is ideal for beginners, intermediate and advanced players. The design and craftsmanship are superlative. Every advanced feature is impeccably implemented. It has great synergy with my Supro Blues King 8 tube combo. It looks fabulous in sunburst, with nothing amiss in the body, neck and hardware. This is another guitar by Epiphone like the Sheraton and Broadway that are at the top of my list of all time favorite guitars.

Casino Quality Issues

Product Review Ordered a Epiphone Casino and it arrived with serious paint issues. The stain looked It was applied by a blind person and sprayed a clear coat over it. I ordered a replacement and the next arrived worst than the first. The P90s cause a serious hum whenever getting close to the amp at low volume. The strings turned my fingers black after playing for 30 minutes. I understand most replace strings as soon as receiving. Also the guitar would not stay in tune. I opened a case with AMS and they quickly issued an RMA to return and credit both guitars.

Product Review My first impression was the finish was too yellow and the neck was way too thin, however; after playing it for a couple weeks and doing the normal fret polish and setup on it, I have to say I’m very impressed. I wasn’t expecting much considering it’s a Chinese made instrument, but the fit and finish is stellar. No sharp fret ends and no high or low frets. The nut needed just a tiny bit of filing on the wound strings to be perfect, but I’m just really picky, it didn’t really need to be done. Very little adjustment had to be made for both string height and intonation. I tried 11’s but went right back to 10’s and feel those are perfect for this guitar. (I play 11’s on my Tele) Like others have said, it sounds great unplugged and plays very well. The neck is very thin to my standards, but I’m used to an enhanced fat V neck, so I’m really not used to a slim taper D. I was looking at pictures of John Lennon’s Casino and it had a pretty thin neck too. There is a nice shoulder to the neck, though, which makes it more comfortable and it’s actually easier to use the thumb-over technique as well. I actually enjoy going back and forth between this and my fat necked Tele Plugged into my Pro Junior this thing is AMAZING! It’s warm and round, with great note separation and can go from dark and wooly to bright and jangly. I really don’t see any reason to change the pickups. They are very bright and clear. The key is blending the pickups together to get a wide range of tone, yet each position really enhances the hollow body character. Although, it will make that Pro Junior howl like a mad dog if I’m facing the speaker. Playing cleanly, it’s not a problem, though and I really enjoying coaxing feedback out of her. It’s definitely controllable, but may catch you off guard. Bottom line is I had to have one and now that I do, I won’t be giving it up anytime soon.

It sounds like a great acoustic guitar unplugged and I can't put it down. . .I actually measured the neck to see if it was wider because it seems to have so much room for my fat fingers too . .love it

Product Review I have wanted a Casino for a while but didn't want a 3 color burst. I was leaning toward natural but was also considering Turquoise. Because of the covid 19 turquoise was on back order. So I pulled the trigger on natural. I was not disappointed. AMS had a deal for the guitar or the guitar with a case no others had the case deal. The guitar came quick looked good good price. New guitar day is always a great day. I received a beautiful great playing guitar for my 45 birthday. I can't complain.??????????

Product Review First off this guitar looks so much better in person than in videos or photographs. It's playable and feels/sounds great even with the less than perfect factory setup. NOTE you are going to need to diligently wipe down the fretboard. I experienced serious grease residue transferring form the fretboard to my fingers and it took me a minute to realize it was either machine dust or dye. You're going to want to spend some time wiping it down with a microfiber cloth. This may mean having to take all the strings off, so it's worth ordering this guitar with an extra set of strings. 10 gauge I believe. I know, that's not ideal. I fell in love with this guitar out of the box and I'm not disappointed, but I had to temper my excitement and seriously clean the instrument first.

Product Review So... I've owned many Epiphone guitars in my life. Sheraton II, ES-335 Pro, Les Paul Jr, among others. I have(and currently do) also owned many Gibsons. I most recently owned a Gibson dot ES-335, and was honestly a bit disappointed in the quality. Gibson has discontinued the 330(full hollow body), which is what I actually wanted. In theory the Casino is the closest thing available right now. I didn't expect much, and boy howdy was I surprised. This guitar is PERFECT. the action and intonation are spot on, the stain and lacquer were clearly applied with care, with no signs of sloppiness, and the sound...it has that glorious responsiveness to your attack that I had always heard about and though was exaggerated, and am happy to report is true! Every guitar I own cost more than this one, yet it's the only one I play right now. Stays in tune, light as a feather, thin easy to play neck, sheer perfection. All my Fab Four favorite songs have never sounded so good.

Product Review If more people would simply get past the name on the headstock, they would realize what great guitars are made by Epiphone. This Casino is awesome. The finish is flawless. A great variety of tones are available. Because it is a hollow body, you can jam without an amp late at night without bothering anybody. It has a particularly cool Beatle vibe to it. Product Review The Casino is a main stay in music. Just about everybody has owned one and played it on countless recordings and live shows. The heart of the guitar is the thinline hollow body. It has a truly unique sound and feel. The neck is a bit short as it attaches to the body. Playing about the 15th fret is tricky. You have to ask yourself if that matters. Mine stays in tune so well I think its better than my Gibson's for tuning and intonation. These guitars are worth every penny.

Product Review This is my 3rd Casino. 1st (mik),got lost in a move. 2nd was a 1964 (or was it 65?)Revolution. It was #245 if memory serves. HAD to sell it.So on Lennons birthday last year, American Musical Supply sold me this sunburst and I am smiling again. This one is mic and the neck profile is a little different than either of the other two. I like it. Blues, rock, jazz or just noodling around, it's my go to guitar. The wood resonance is better on this one than on my other Casinos. Who would of thought this Casino outshines that Revolution? Amazing! And American Musical is my go to "Plas I Play "one stop shop from now on. First class help and selection. Help yourself to some GREAT tones and buy one. Remember, the guitar resonates a lot,so make sure to secure the wiring harness so the wires aren't touching the inside of the top or back unless you like the acoustic buzzing. Also the pickup selector can vibrate as well. My guitar resonates so well that I had to tighten up those things. When a guitar resonates like this, you KNOW you got a good one. Great sustain too. Especially with Curt Mangan Pure Nickel 10-46 strings. Made for this Casino If you ask me.

Product Review I have a sickness for buying guitars. My latest addition was this baby. The desire for it was my love for John Lennon and the Beatles. The action needed lowered a lot, and the intonation was off on the B and E strings, but after a quick setup, this guitar plays like a dream. I am surprised that more people throughout history haven't used the guitar of choice of both Lennon and McCartney. My band covers a wide variety, and this is a versatile guitar with a lot of range to cover it nicely. It is taking the place of my Les Paul studio for live shows now, except for the few songs that I have to get up high enough to play off the 15th fret and higher. I may install gold Grover locking tuners on it. This is going to be my main guitar for a few years, at least. Awesome value for $700.

Product Review Well, yesterday (3-15-2016) I really had a chance to get into a groove with The Casino. I switched pickups, combined them, and managed to come up with some great voicings. When I did rock licks, The Casino screamed. When I did blues and jazz, The Casino rocked and rolled. Smooth playing. She's a gorgeous instrument. I was approaching the end of my workday, at home relaxed, and The Casino was the perfect way to close out my day. It is awesome and worth the investment! Epiphone is great!

Product Review I've played guitar for over thirty years and owned a lot of them. This guitar has a great sound. The P90's are awesome. I set the intonation perfect on it and it will stay in tune while playing chords but after playing a lead, bending and hammering strings it goes out of tune. I own other Epiphone guitars and don't have this problem. I will call AMS to straighten out this matter. Yes I have stretched the strings to pull them tight but still have this problem.

Product Review Out of the case, a little tuning, and on stage we went. Just simply the best sounding guitar I have purchased in awhile. The quality is extremely great. I play everything from Gospel to classic rock. The weight and the neck are perfect. Controls are placed perfectly. No wonder the Beatles loved this ax!! The tone is good for p-90's that are not true p-90's. I suggest you get the Seymour Duncan p-90's and replace them like I did. The stain of the vintage sunburst was superb!!!!! I got more than what I thought it would be!! It rivals my Paul Reed Smith S-2 Custom 24! Like a dream come true!!

Product Review To tell the truth, I would have rather purchased an ES 330 or an ES 390, but being a poor boy I made a decision based upon my money clip. Buying this guitar was not a letdown and I am totally pleased with it. To be honest in its assessment, the electronics produce a little hum when potted up, but then again the pickups are not true P 90s. For the $3000 - $4000 I saved by buying the Casino I can overlook that. The neck and action are great and the feel is the same as the Gibson's. I did throw on a set of .009 - .042 strings though which are my preference. I bought mine with the case which is a good option. You need a case and the Epiphone case is both solid and attractive. The Casino hollowbody gives me the feel, tone, and twang that I like to hear. If you are into the 60s - 70s sounds or "BeaTle" tunes, then this is a guitar you should consider buying. It looks fine too. I bought the sunburst style. I love this guitar. The overall quality and craftsmanship are excellent. I gotta pick on the choice of P 90s though. To get a true P 90 sound you gotta have true P 90s. Truth been said. That not withstanding, the guitar is wonderful. The Casino is a lightweight guitar that feels comfortable hanging around your neck or sittin' on your knee while you are pickin' on the porch. The neck is fast and easy to play. The Casino is first off a true hollowbody so that being said you get some nice acoustic tone as well as being able to play twangy or bright and clear. It is easy to make the strings chime and get a cool British sound. With your choice of the proper effects pedals (I don't lean on them myself)you can sound like whoever you want to. The pickups are a bit of a disappointment but for the sake of the rest of the guitar I can overlook them. True P 90s electronics however, would set the Casino in a whole different world of guitar. Nuf said. I looked for flaws - couldn't find any - and I mean I really looked. The Casino is beautiful to behold and you will be proud to show it off. The binding is smooth rounds out the guitar's beauty. The Casino is a great purchase and all I can say is to check them out before you buy another model. You gotta spend a whole lot more to get a little more. I set the bridge a little but other than putting on a different set of strings which was my preference, the Casino plays well right out of the box. I get no nut slip and the strings stay in tune. You can't play up past the 19th fret but the Casino is not that kind of guitar - neither are the ES Gibsons. (get an SG or Firebird)

Product Review I work in recording studios, and have played and recorded many Gibsons. Les Paul, SG, various hollow bodies, etc. I never came across an Epiphone, but I wanted John Lennon's main guitar to get "that sound" easier. I couldn't be happier with this guitar, it plays like an absolute dream. I debated spending the extra $$ on the Inspired by John Lennon, but since I like to tinker, I figured I can always upgrade electronics/hardware later on. This guitar plays as good if not better than any Gibson I have crossed paths with. I will probably replace the stock P90s with Seymour Duncan P90s, but I do that with most of my guitars anyway. The stock ones are excellent IMO. The neck is thin and very fast. Ive been a Fender man for most of my life, but this baby is changing the way I play in a very good way. All of the above. The stock pickups are very dynamic and responsive, and blending the 2 together or separating them individually gets you amazing bite or beautiful warmth and everywhere in between. The neck pickup alone is a little muddy, IMO, but the 2 set equally is mind-blowing! I got the natural and can find nothing wrong with the finish. Even the neck joint is completely smooth with no blemishes or rough spots. Much more than I expected value wise. Don't believe the others who say a Chinese guitar is not as good as a Korean or American. This thing plays as good if not better than anything I have held and played. It records beautifully and is not buzzy or noisy in front of my iMac. The guitar did need a setup out of the box, but that is to be expected going from NJ to Florida. The action was preset pretty much perfectly, and with a minor truss rod adjustment and intonation it plays perfectly. I will probably replace the nut at some point as the G string has stability issues. But I have had this issue with most guitars at all price points, it is physics, not a quality control thing. For the time being I am using a wound G and I like the sound a lot, but I miss doing big bends.

Overall good but when I bend notes the frets seem rough if that makes sense. Almost as if the didn't do a good job at the factory of polishing them. Easy fix for about $30 well worth the tone. Seems to be a very sturdy instrument. It seems a lot of people have had issues with the tuners, I on the other hand have not. Time will tell, seems great. Your general opinion of this product. Out of the box she played very well frets need a good polish they kinda drag but other than that she's a dream, I almost feel bad, my Custom Shop 60's Time Machine Strat has not seen the light of day since I received my Casino. Super light guitar with a very great feeling neck. What ever you want it to be, amazing blusey growl for single coils. I have never bought an Epiphone guitar that I didn't wish was a Gibson. Well I did this time, I owned a Gibson ES339 that was amazing but for the price I would rather own a couple of these guys and not be frightened to bring it to gigs. Finish was great, I got the Cherry Action was ready to go.

Seems very well-made. Time will tell, but it's looking good so far. Your general opinion of this product. Seems very well-made. I bought this as a gift for my son, a Beatles fanatic, and it's his first electric. He's tickled to death with it. The case is a REAL Epiphone case, not just a "deluxe" no-name model, and is also VERY nice. I highly recommend the case if you buy this guitar, very much worth the extra $$$. Ask my son. :) A variety of tones, haven't heard it really put through it's paces yet. But just the selectable pickups make a big change in tone. Finish looks awesome. A few very minor flaws, but small and indiscreet. Average person would never know unless they were looking for flaws. Haven't made any adjustments other than tuning. Out-of-the=box tuning was almost right on.

Seems to be made pretty good. Haven't had it very long yet. N/A Your general opinion of this product. I was concerned that the guitar quality would be bad because of being made in China. I was reading other ratings of guitar and Korea seemed to be the builders of choice, but couldn't seem to find a guitar made there. Was told that you had to take a chance on what you got and I was delighted after I got it. Looks good, finish is great, it was quality checked in U.S.A. sounds really good to. It's a real light guitar easy playing. Sound is great, you can get mellow beautiful sounds to heavy, very versatile NO flaws in the finish, craftsmanship as far as I can tell is really good. The set up was pretty good no buzzing of strings. It is easy to play.

Overall quality is a 8.5 out of 10. Totally worth the price. Seems very well built. The quality of the woods used look of much higher caliber than the stock images allude to. Frets are very nicely finished with no sharp edges or high spots. The overall build quality seemed much nicer than what I expected from something "Made In China". Totally a gig worthy instrument. Your general opinion of this product. Absolutely love this guitar. The P90 and full hollow body are a perfect match. After a complete setup this guitar was much more than I expected from a guitar that is made in China. The fretboard (after I oiled it) is nice and dark and overall the guitar is MUCH nicer looking than Gibson's stock pictures make the guitar out to be. For $599, this is how much guitar you SHOULD get nowadays. The guitar is right about 7 lbs... Definitely not a back breaker. Even though it is a full hollowbody, the guitar is very well balanced and doesn't want to "dive" neck first when you have it strapped on. Neck feels more substantial than any of the Korean or Japanese Elite models (which have really skinny, small necks)... This feels more like a current Gibson "60's neck. Tone is outstanding. Blows you away if you play clean... very rich sounding with nice bottom end thump. Finish is your typical polyurethane finish... Probably bullet-proof. But I didn't notice any flaws whatsoever, and the grain in the wood not only looks quality, but really pops through (I purchased the cherry red model) Action and setup on ANY guitar you buy online is going to stink, regardless of maker or price.

I would buy another and I have a Dot as well. The "E" fell off of the pick guard and I've had the frets leveled, the rest of it has done well. Your general opinion of this product. very much in the league of other guitars I've owned such as the Gibson ES335 a light weight guitar and ghood for singing with a strap while standing. I am a fan of both P90 and Humbucking pickups and this guitar gives me a brighter sound without hum. Nice neck pickup sound with the bass turned up on the tone control. Check out a little known band called "The Beatles," they all played them except Ringo... clear finish has held up fine. good, I now use heavier strings.

I would not be honest, if I told you this Epiphone Casino guitar did not have the same quality in wood and mechanics as the all mighty Gibson guitar, however the only difference is, on more expensive guitars are gold or nickel hardware. This guitar has an awesome sound without the expensive hardware. My guitar is still fairly new; only six months old but I believe this Epiphone Casino will last as long as I think I might want it to. I believe any problems that I might have can be corrected very econmically. Your general opinion of this product. This guitar has a wonderful tone that must be heard to believe. The rosewood fingerboard has the same quality as the more very expensive gibson guitars. SO EASY TO PLAY! Sometime I cannot believe I am actually playing this guitar, being so lite and very easy to handle. My fingers slide up and down the fingerboard like magic. This guitar is not cheap in my eyes because when I play, I feel as though I am playing a Gibson. Truly a solid punchy no nonsense tone, SO SMOOTH and thick sound effects The finish on this guitar is also unbelievable and the wood is truly a fine quality wood. Beautiful paint and seal finish, A true piece of furniture Undescribably solid

This guitar is pretty well made. The only problem I have with it is that the paint on the inside of the F-holes was poor to say the least. It was streaky in parts, especially under the pickguard. I've only had it for a few weeks, but I hope it does well in this department. Your general opinion of this product. First off, I love the Beatles & John Lennon. I have the natural Casino, which looks incredibly like John's. I even took off the pickguard to get to get the more authentic Lennon look. It has been a great buy for me so far. The Casino is extremely light despite its large size, which is attributed to its hollow body. The neck is very smooth and fast. After its looks, the tone of the Casino draws the most people in. The P-90s are just wonderful for that classic Beatles sound. However, they are quite famous for buzzing, which they do. It is best suited for rhythm guitar, as any note above the 17th fret is quite difficult to reach. The body, neck, headstock, and binding were all perfect 10s. The maple swirls in the body are breathtaking. The only problem I had was the paint inside the F-holes was pretty shoddy work. I had to do a few touch-ups with some black paint. No really big problem, though. Guitar needed a quick tuning and it was good to go.

Surprisingly good quality as I own a 335 and the Epi feels lighter and comfortable The f holes need to be plugged with good high density foam rubber to eliminate feedback and I had to put a shim under the bridge pick up to tweak the sound. I replaced the tuners with gold Grovers as per Lennon. I expected to do all this so it was no big thing. Your general opinion of this product. A very good instrument for the money. I bought it in Scotland for £385. The case is every bit as good a a Gibson case The play and feel is excellent and with no block in the body, it's really light. All the electrics-knobs and switch feel and work very well. Killer P90 tone and with that, sometimes comes that awful buzz that can occur at certain gigs. At one gig it was so bad I had to change to a Strat. Thankfully that is rare but I always carry a back up The look and finish are first class even with black f hole plugs I bought it from a store so the store had it very well set up.

Your general opinion of this product. I play in a Beatles tribute band ... HELP!

I bought the blonde Casino just to have a Lennon look on stage. However, once I started playing it ... I fell in love. And, so do other musicians and Beatle fans.

This guitar has a very smooth neck, easy playing for both bar chords and lead riffs.

It has moderate pick-ups, however, with my SUNN tube amps and effects, I can get the sounds I want from the beauty.

I pulled the pick guard off, but only a few Beatle nuts noticed why. I should put it back on as I plan to play this guitar for many years and in many styles of music.

I am most impressed with its mellow, lead and chord tones from open to the 16th frets. You can be a jazz or rock and roll king and still appreciate this beauty.

I have played country western on the Casino, too. It is a real versatile instrument.

If you play for three hours and switch guitars like I do, you will appreciate the weight of the Casino. Very light and very comfortable in

it arrived well packaged and protected. it was set up pretty well when I got it and there were only 2 very minor issues: the pickguard "E" was loose (a common problem, I gather) so I re-glued it. also, the pickguard itself was a little loose, I found that the center screw wasn't tightened enough. again, a very simple fix, and wasnt a real issue. the finish is fantastic!! I had seen many pics of this guitar, and i wasn't sure of the actual hue of the finish. some pics showed it very pale, almost blonde(like the pic here)...other images i found on the net showed it with a pinkish natural finish. well...when it got here, it was this wonderful golden natural wood color. simply amazing. the pearloid inlays really add alot of class, as does the cream binding. everything fits together nice and tight, and it appears to me that this guitar, if properly cared for( as it deserves) will last for quite a while.
