All I can say is it’s the best amp I’ve ever used I’ve played with solid state for the past 30 years and this is my first tube amp the difference in sound is night and day this amp let’s you know what your guitar really is supposed to sound like never going back to solid state and I’m an EVH man from now on just buy it you’ll see ??????????

This guy has a lot of gain on tap. Blue channel will get you 70 to 80s Metal with no problem. Modern with a pedal. Red channel is extreme I normally end up pulling gain out of this channel. Loves drop tuned guitars. I enjoy my 7 strings through this channel a lot. Overall hard to beat for the money. And the service from AMS was great as always. Hope this helps.

This head is absolutely sick...the tones you can get out of it, well, minus a clean tone but I have other amps for that. The crunch, the tone...just blows me away everytime I turn it on. If you want a tube amp to use at home....buy this....buy this NOW

Very happy with this amp immediately. I needed a higher gain amp. Chose this over the newer edition s bc of the blue channel, the red is a bonus and more. Love that it's loud!

This amp rocks! If rock or metal is your preferred playing style you will dig this head. Would recommend a noise gate as there is his as the gain gets cranked...add a little black amp box in the FX loop and get those tubes singing!

I got the EVH 5150/3 very.1 amp about a month ago and it is a nice sounding amp. The blue channel is the best one because it goes from clean to hot overdrive crunch. The red channel is a big disappointment, and it's not even as loud as the blue channel. I was hoping for the red channel to be beyond the blue channel capabilities but it's a drop in volume when I select the red channel and it is mushy sounding with very little definition of the notes. So I bought the Peavey 6505 MH and it is exactly what I was looking for. I thought they would be close to each other but I was wondering if I got a bad head 5150 or is the burn channel not as loud as the blue channel. Peavey 1 EVH 0.

It says 15 watts. I swear this is much louder. I have a Marshall dsl 20 and its louder than that. Its a must buy for your home studio for that raw brown sound.

Get one. The burn channel, while loose, is insane! I prefer the blue pushed with an overdrive. Yiu cannot go wrong here.
I also have an mt15, haven't touched it since this arrived!

While unfortunately EVH is no longer with us, his tone and innovations will live forever. This amp delivers the signature "brown sound" as well as other flavors of high gain/crunch delight. Sound quality is certainly professional grade, and despite it's small size, this thing can get ripping loud. I have the EVH 1x12 cabinet to go along with the head, and in my house I can barely put the volume past 1 before I rock the whole neighborhood.

Great head with lots of punch for only 15 watts. Very sturdy construction and high quality fit and finish. I highly recommend this amp for gig use or a bedroom player.

Wow am I amazed at the power and sound behind this lunchbox head! It is without a doubt the best score on the EVH market and affordable! Never dreamed I’d own EVH merch, but since the age of 8 I’ve idolized his sound! Let the madness begin!

I also own the 50 watt version and this thing holds up nicely. Plenty of head room. To me as with all the EVH heads the Blue channel has a nicer mid range than the Red channel. Only downfall would be the effects loop isn’t switchable like it’s bigger brothers. That doesn’t take away from it still being a killer amp.

This baby screams. I had been using modeling amplifiers/processors to try to get the same tone as this amp. If your into hard rock and metal, this won't disappoint. And don't be fooled by the low wattage cause this thing gets really loud. The red channel has more gain than Mr. Van Halen's classic tone although you can get close on the blue channel. The effects loop works great for a reverb or chorus pedal. Thanks EVH !!!

The amp delivers exactly what is promised. EVH tone at a low volume and an affordable price point. My wife fell asleep and I was on the other side of my house shredding at low volume and it sounded great, but plenty of volume on tap for small gigs. I got the warehouse resealed and the plastic was still on the amp.

This is a rock, metal and EVH head. I went with a Marshall 1x12 and it sounds awesome. Tried the Superchamp and it just didn't have it. Nice to carry around in the bag that you don't get with it but it was worth getting it separately. Well worth the money.

I had looked at many small amp heads and many did have great feature sets but I have always been someone who likes a simple package that delivers and this is just that, simple and delivers. Just the Blue channel alone would have been fine for me and can be very heavy yet super clear. It is a small amp but dont be fooled, it is LOUD and even down on 4w was pretty loud. Like most tube amps it sounds best at volume at 3 and up.
