I purchased this on a whim and it’s the black horse of my collection in that all my other guitars are humbucker and metal style guitars…took a chance that I would get a very unique high gain time out of this beast and I was right. If you play metal music and you honestly have never tried a standard single coil noiseless pickup laden tele or strat you haven’t lived. This thing is amazing, cuts through, and definitively compliments my other more metal style guitars in ways that make the music pop.
Nothing more needs to be said other than I’m using a standard Telecaster for metal and it’s absolutely brilliant.

Received this guitar in perfect condition. After lowering the action just a hair and tuning up it plays fantastic. Love the sound of the Yosemite pickups. Perfect neck shape for my hand and the satin finish is silky smooth.It was backordered when I ordered it but received it 3 weeks earlier than I expected. Great job AMS!

This guitar is beautiful and as my first tele does not disappoint. I was happily surprised with how versatile it is! It isn’t just a country workhorse after all! It shipped faster than I thought it would as it was backordered, so again, a pleasant surprise!

What a beautiful instrument. This is exactly what I’ve been wanting for since I had to sell my last Tele almost 20 years ago. The satin finish neck with the rosewood finger board is smooth as silk. The finish on the body is flawless and warm. Not disappointed at all. Sounds like a Telecaster! My only negative is I feel the setup could of been a little better being an American telecaster. The purchase thru AMS was as painless as it could be.

Classic tele tone, wide neck, rosewood fretboard, killer looks. It’s a great package. I adjusted the truss rod, action, and intonation upon arrival - it was a breeze - and it plays great. I’m looking forward to honing my chops and my tech skills with this one with an eventual pickup swap.

The Fender American Performer Telecaster is a mid priced American made Telecaster. Significantly higher build quality and fit and finish than the Mexican made Telecasters. That combined with the Yosemite single coils make this guitar a great value.I have owned both and it worth a few hundred dollars to own the American Series.
Plug this one into a Fender 68 Custom Deluxe Amp and you have a plethora of tones to choose from. A Fender guitar played through a Fender amp produces the best sound out of both the guitar and amplifier. The rosewood neck on this Tele feels more substantial than the maple neck my Stratocaster.
The finish on this guitar is straight.
I recommend the Fender American Telecaster to anyone looking for that Tele Twang in an affordable American package!

After having waited a long time and perused all the different Telecasters for years, I finally decided to plunk some money down and get one. This Tele has a great sound with the Yosemite pickups. great classic bridge, and the color is pretty darn nice too. The gig bag it comes with is no slouch either; nice Fender bag.
Great price and great choice, I feel.

This telecaster has a fantastic modern feel, while retaining the classic style and elements of the guitar we all know and love. The Yosemite pickups have that bright and twangy characteristic that makes up true Tele tone, but can be tamed to your taste with the responsive tone knob. At this price point, I feel like locking tuners should be a standard upgrade. However, there is nothing wrong with the stock tuners. Just a preference. I play a lot of emo/math rock/alternative music and it has been a dream being able to own a Fender USA made guitar at an affordable price point that feels and sounds incredible.
