After a truss rod adjustment and set up the guitar sounds and plays great. The player series gets a bad rap sometimes from experienced musicians but I’m very happy with the quality and sound of my guitar. Perfect for a working musician needing a good quality instrument and classic fender tone. AMS shipped super fast. Got my guitar 2 days after ordering. Very happy with my experience.

One of the best guitars I've ever bought.
Solidly constructed with a beautiful finish that ranked up there with higher end models. This is one guitar that You won't want to put down. Setup was right on right out of the box! Tuned it up and I was blown away how well it sounded. I love it. It's definitely a keeper!

First off was the color before even strapping this beauty on and plugging it in I noticed the quality of the color and the lines on this thing. Blown away by the quality. Within minutes I could tell this was going to be my go to guitar for performance or practice. Pickups are hot and soft and everything you’d want in a telecaster. 10/10 would recommend for beginners or professionals.

I usually spend more on guitars, about 1500-2000$. This time around I wasn’t financially apt to do so. I wasn’t expecting much but was blown away. the design is so simple and great it’d be hard to mess up. The only thing I wasn’t satisfied with is that it doesn’t come with a case which is why I gave it stars. I feel a 4.5 star review would be more accurate.
The neck is small and I have small hands so it it plays rather well. The neck is smooth and modern. Overall, a great purchase. Thanks Fender and AMS!

I’ve owned American and MIM teles and strat’s and the players series is every bit as good as the US models with a few small tweaks. Setup to factory specs right out of the box and with minor tweaks to my preferences I can’t say enough things about this amazing guitar. Tide pool is a stellar color and pops even better in person. Been a AMS customer since 2007 and with their 6 month payment plan makes it easy to get the gear that will inspire you and be there for the long haul!

Many pros to this guitar and few cons. Needed a mild setup out of the box. I think the nut placement for the high E string might be a bit too far, the string is close to the edge of the neck. Also, the pickup selector switch comes off easily, but I think mines just lose. Easy enough fix.
Guitar sounds amazing, the frets look and sound good, the action was nice, intonation was fairly accurate. I play post-rock and this works great. I put a pale green Pearloid pickguard on it and it looks gorgeous.

I've wanted a Tele for quite some time so the first thing I wanted to find out was the difference between the player series, the performer series, the pro series, and the elite/ultra series. Here are my findings:
elite/ultra series - these guitars are top of the line and although they are very expensive, they are worth every penny if you can afford them (I can't).
Pro and performer series - these beauties land right in the middle of the price points but unfortunately, they are garbage. I've played dozens of each and the only impressive thing about them is how Fender was able to replicate the same crappy guitar in the same fashion as Randy Rhoades was able to multi-track his leads.
The player series - these guitars are great. There are things that you need to upgrade on the strats to keep them in tune, but the Teles are great right out of the box. Buy one and congratulations!

only snag I had was missing a screw in the low e saddle. not a big deal probably fell out between test and shipping because all the saddle screws are fairly backed out.

The problem I had with the guitar was cosmetic.I have had several Butterscotch Blonde guitars over the years, but this one really looked cheap,like a bad fake. The body paint was solid color, not translucent like most Fenders I have had. It really killed the appearance of the guitar. Any good Fender Telecaster Butterscotch body has the grain of the wood come thru. I couldnt handle it

I have wanted a telecaster for years but was never able to justify the cost to myself. Finally decided that I was going to get this guitar and the first time I played it I absolutely fell in love with it. All doubts and possible buyer's remorse was completely removed. The quality is unquestionably fender quality. The finish is spotless, the neck is perfect, fretboard has the poly finish and looks beautiful and plays just as well as it looks. Moving across the frets, sliding, bending, vibrato...all that feels like you're playing on glass. It's zero drag and effortless. The guitar came set up and was packaged extremely well. Shipping was prompt as well. The telecaster has been a classic fender staple since it launched rivaled only by their own Stratocaster model which came later. Spending only a few minutes playing and experiencing this guitar will show you why it's remained relatively unchanged since it's inception.
The classic clean sound, that twang you think of with this guitar sound is an instant introduction when you play. But even alternative sounds work well with this beauty. Learning on a Stratocaster initially I was doubtful when going to put distortion on this tele. I was wrong . The sound that this guitar has works so well with a distortion thaglt it really gives this guitar its own personality over the strat. I'm not saying it is better but it's certainly not worse. This is a very versatile instrument with a look, feel, and sound that will leave you entirely satisfied with your investment. I cannot recommend this guitar experience enough.

I bought this Fender player series Telecaster for my husband as an early Christmas present. He was so thrilled with it!
The guitar arrived on time. It was double packaged so to prevent any damage.
The first thing he did was take it completely apart because he likes to check the quality of the workmanship. He was pleased with everything. The only thing he changed was he replaced the Fender strings with Ernie Ball (those are just his preference) and he adjusted the action on the strings to his liking.

I’ve wanted a sunburst telecaster for some time.
I can’t say enough good things about this guitar. Arrived on time with free shipping. Perfect shape.
On my guitar it requires no setup, I did check all the measurements and everything was setup perfect.
It’s everything you would expect and more. It is hard to justify the extra money for a US model.
American Musical’s payment plan is fantastic, I did the 5 month plan, this is such a fantastic offering from them, saves me from having to spend a lump sum all at once.
I for sure wouldn’t hesitate to buy from AMS again!

I am primarily an acoustic guitarist, but wanted a Telecaster for recording and possibly for gigs. I have always loved the all-white look on a Fender, so this had great visual appeal for me. This is a good upgrade from the mex standard the fret job is almost as good as my American pro strat and U get 22 frets. It plays and sounds great well worth the money. I only gave 4 stars because the player series are supposed to have bent saddles but does not and there is a crack in the finish by the neck pocket other than that I just had to give it a good set up.

I am 66 yrs Ole, first played one as a young boy of 14-15. And I will never forget the Sound and feel of it. I bought this to do some hot rodding / upgrading--well, I got as far as a electrosocket jack , Sprague .015 tone cap and 4-way switch.. I discovered that there was NO need to pull the pickguard as there are three wires run factory from the neck pup-- white ( hot ) black and green are run to ground BUT the green wire is the cover ground-- so simply snip and resolder the black to your Tele 4-way switch and you are in business !
