Product Review Very clean instrument. I was hesitant to spend this amount on a new bass but I've been blow away by the performance, everything from the frets to the pickups is everything I could have asked for and more.

Product Review Been wanting a P bass and Fender does not disappoint here. Was great out of the box but after a quick setup, it’s the perfect bass! Plays great, not to heavy and sounds great.

Product Review I love my bass. It's smooth and easy to play. Of course the Fender sound is hard to copy, so this bass and I are going to become great friends. I love the neck on this bass. I've had it a couple months and am waiting til next weekend so i can play it in public. The quality is outstanding. I love the sunburst. The color is the same as my original Fender precision, a 1972, and it feels like an old friend. I can't put it down.

Product Review I bought my first Mexican Fender product in the 90's after being a long time USA Fender player. My early 70's USA Precision had been stolen and I needed something quick. That 90's Fender Mexican P-Bass ended my relationship with Fender until this purchase. I switched to primarily Ibanez basses and a Musicman. I decided to give the Mexican instruments one more shot with this purchase and boy am I glad I did. The pickups are as good as any stock pickups I've seen. The neck no longer feels like somebody cut a Louisville Slugger in half and gave it a light sanding and called it a bass nexk. The Neck on this bass is thin and fast. The attention to detail with fit and finish is exceptional. It comes ready to play straight out of hte box. No trips to a luthier to try and figure out how to fix what you bought. So what stands out? The entire bass. Fit and finish. Quality of pickups, strings tuning machines and a great bridge. I don't think I'll have to replace anything. Ok it's not a $299 bass anymore but I don't feel bad paying what I paid because this is a good working musician's instrument.

Product Review I ordered this bass in January took it only a few days to arrive,I am not dissapointed very good action has good time. The only thing is you may have to put better strings on. Great bass I have had the American version before and it's great, I think the player series is about as good for half the change.

Product Review I have a Squire Vintage Modified and though I would step up to the fender Player P Bass. After I did some adjustments to the neck and bridge, I started to play it and it sounds great! My only issue is the fretwork is not good. But I can take care of that myself. I would say go for it because it plays well and I just dig it !

Product Review Great sounding bass, very nice finish, didn't have to do anything to it other than set up to my preference but it came ready to play. Smooth frets, great tone and very quiet, no hiss or static. Very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. I have several American fender basses and of course, the paint finish is of higher quality however, the sound... I think Fender is using the same pickups on basses made in Mexico and USA. The output measures about the same and even stronger output on some of the Mexican Fenders. I don't know if I got lucky with the bass I purchased but other than the paint finish there is no difference compared to a made in USA Fender, it sounds and feels the same. This is a great bass to add to a collection.

Product Review The year was 1988 & I was 16 years old. I had bought a Rickenbacker copy with warped neck for $80 the year before. It was awful. Two round wound strings & two flat wound strings. Green sunburst paint job with a floral pattern pickguard. After a couple short months I decided that I was gonna get a job and save up for a real bass. So at the end of the school year I started working at McDonalds and saved almost every penny for three months. Just before school started back up I had saved just enough to afford a Fender Precision. I mean if it was good enough for my hero Steve Harris of Iron Maiden it had to be good enough for me right? I bought that bass and played it faithfully for the next 13 years. Unfortunately my house was robbed in 2001 & my Precision was gone. I searched the pawn shops and music stores for years looking for my long lost friend, but no dice. I went through a bunch of Basses over the next several years. They were all good quality Basses, but none of them had the comfortable feel that I got from my precision. 2019 I decided that I was gonna order another Precision. Looked around the different sites and AMS had the bass I wanted at a good price and was able to get on a payment plan to boot. My Fender Precision came in the mail just 4 days after ordering it. I unboxed the bass, tuned it up, plugged it in to my amp & BOOM I was 16 years old again!!! The same feel, the same tone & the same excited feeling I had as a teenager wanting to play night & day. My only regret is that I waited so long to come back to the most comfortable bass I’ve ever owned. It feels like coming back home.

Product Review Wow, Fender never ceases to amaze me with constantly producing new guitars and equipment that is affordable, reliable, and always a cut above the rest. This bass has NO lack of tone or sound compared to its $2,000 ancestors. It simply puts out great quality sound and feels exactly the same as a vintage Fender bass.

Product Review I was reluctant to buy a MIM as it is not the norm in my collection. I liked the color so talked myself into it. On opening the box and pulling it out of the wrapping the tone knob fell on the floor. Bridge was way out of whack, and after 2 weeks of it hanging on a stand the pickguard started to lift off the body. To top it off the tone pot totally gave out. So, after about 10-15 minutes total practice I returned it. Save your money if you want a good built guitar buy MIA.

Product Review The bass is, overall, a solid buy. It's very playable and aesthetically pleasing. It's a P-Bass - workhorse of the music biz. I only have two real criticisms here. The first is the lack of an included gig bag, which was always part of the deal with the previous "Standard" series basses and guitars. C'mon, Fender! What gives? It's not like the "Player Series" basses are any kind of huge upgrade. Honestly, I think most people like the old Standards much better. My SECOND criticism of the "Player" series P-basses is that the pickups and electronics seem to lack that signature Precision Bass tone. There's way too much high-end, in my opinion, and not enough in the lower fundamentals. There is a side-by-side comparison on YouTube between the Standard and Player Series that clearly demos this. Rolling back the tone control helps this only a little, but the signature tone is simply not there. I will likely be swapping the pickup and tone circuit out with something more traditional.

Product Review The bridge is mounted about a sixteenth of an inch towards the treble side. So the strings aren't centered over the fretboard.

Product Review I am a multi-instrumentalist and bass is one of my favorite instruments to play. I own five basses, by various manufacturers, and I absolutely love the color, fit and finish, and mostly the SOUND of this MIM p bass! It was very well set up, although I like my action relatively low, I felt this was low enough that I wouldn't need to set it myself. Definitely a great, professional instrument, which I am proud to hang next to my other 22 beautiful stringed instruments! Thanks to AMS for payment options; it always comes in handy if I need a new recording tool.

Product Review I love it. I bought a cheap Dean bass only to find out to get it set up properly I would spend I fortune filing down frets. The action on this bass is perfect. I will have professional set up done after I've played it a bit but it is fine right out of the box. It's a beautiful instrument. I bought the Fender Rumble 500 to go with it.

Product Review Everything about this bass is perfect. From the maple neck to the gorgeous tide pool blue paint job. I’ve always played Fender J’s and this was my first P bass and let me tell you, this baby thumps. I’m in love. You’d have to be crazy to not pick one of these up especially with the AMS credit options, it’s a steal. Thanks AMS!
