First time ever buying a guitar without playing or handling it first.
=====
Cons-
String retainer placement is not good, tuning A string the step down in winding catches on the retainer and will eventually pop and go under it if you turn the key enough, but tuning jumps massively when it does it.
Most Frets hang over edge of fretboard and can be really annoying.
=====
Pros- shipped quick.

First time and last time ever buying a guitar without playing and handling it first. Lesson learned. Not a guitar I would keep long with these issues.
Otherwise, I’m a jazz bass guy, I’ve got 6 of them now, I really love the first 5 I bought.

The Fender Jazz 5 Bass got delivered last month and is a beautiful color. After playing a Fender Jazz 4-string bass for 15 years I wanted the 5-string to play certain songs that the B string is needed. The pickups on this bass are powerful and separate volume knobs allows me to have different sounding basses all built into one bass guitar. The tail piece is easy to adjust for string height and intonation. The strings are of a good gauge. It plays well. I'm glad I bought it.

Product Review
It is most definitely a Fender Jazz V5 bass but to be honest there were a couple things about it that discouraged me about purchasing another one of the Player Series. This is my second Player Series bass, my first was the 4 string P and then this 5 string V. Both had the very same discouraging features about them:
1. The neck is pretty much as concaved as it can be. I probably could have nocked an arrow on the B String and make Robin Hood proud. It took quite a few turns of the truss rod to get the neck leveled out.
2. Once I leveled the neck then the next very obvious issue comes to light, saddle height. Set very low and end up with strings clanking the last fret when fingering unless breaking wrist way over forward. So I had to set that which has gotten things a lot closer. The nut looks rough in the slots and essentially unfinished but the frets that I have seen people complain about have been outstanding. Honestly, the VM Squier version will give this one a run for money.
