I play punk bass mainly and have fallen in love with maple necks. But this bass came with the most surprising new Yosemite pickups. I absolutely love the grind I get out of these. I ended up putting Yosemite's in one of my Matt Freeman Precision basses and It now sounds amazing. My guitar tech said they were too bassy for the Freeman but they sound almost exactly like this American Performer. I have a Markbass head I combo it with and I get compliments every single show. People are raving about the sound. I love Fender and what they have done to keep moving into the future.

This bass is amazing! It’s the best of both worlds. Jazz meets precision. Beautiful rich tone and with plenty of punch, smoothness, or use it to simply accompany. Gorgeous colors and almost perfect as shipped. I just adjusted the pickups for finger placement preferences. The action is great, and no buzzing around the 12th frets and above. Overall it’s amazing and the gig bag is very nice. It’s a high quality probably a $60 bag. Great job Fender and thank you American music for making it affordable wowing your payment plans

This is it! I dreamed of owning an American made P-Bass for a long time. When I saw the matte LPB finish on this with the black pick guard I was blown away! The neck fits like a glove and plays so smooth. Not only does this thin look and play great, it sounds absolutely killer. The Jazz pickup at the bridge ads a touch of versatility to what is an incredible bass!!

I use Fender PJ's and this one is my favorite. It's a P-bass with the jazz pickup and an awesome satin finish.

Great bass ,very solid. Can't complain at all . I am very thankful for decent "price point guitars" . Us broke but serious ,at the craft, musicians have hard and fast budget concerns . we can't drift up 100 or 300 bucks for this or that . This thing played great right out the box. all I have done is lower the split pick up a touch ,for tone and for my thumb :-) ,but that's just personal taste . Also thankful that this bass comes with the "good" fender gig bag . It's what other companies would call a "deluxe bag" . In the past I have received the cheesiest bags that do not protect at all ,on a bass with the same cost as this . thanks Fender ,this is a good direction to go in ,keep going .

First I should say I am a beginner/intermediate player. I played 6-string years ago and have been playing bass for about 8 months.
Just received this Bass a few days ago. It is an amazing guitar. Build quality is apparent immediately and it has great range and the versatility is amazing. You can’t go wrong with this one weather it’s hour first or your a seasoned player.
