Product Rating Product Review This bass is perfect in all ways for those of us who are having a hard time playing a standard size bass due to arthritis of our backs and hands. Light weight and easy playability makes this rig a best buy! The sound is right on and the set up is almost perfect right out of the box.

Product Review I needed an inexpensive short scale bass for a few projects I had planned and after looking at what AMS had to offer, decided on this one. I was really surprised at the quality of the guitar once it arrived. It played great right out of the box.. Nice looking finish, good fret work and decent sounding pickups for a “cheap” instrument. Don’t expect a real Fender for $200.., But this bass is definitely worth the price and worth upgrading too. It is what it is.. A $200 Squier. But the neck is straight, frets are great, finish is flawless and it’s well balaned. That’s a lot more than I thought it would be. I’d recommend it to anybody who’s looking for a good entry level bass or just needs something they can count on to lay down a few bass tracks. And the short scale makes it really easy for a guitar player like me to play.

Product Review Just got mine today and oh man this thing is great. This bass played great right out of the box. It came in already set up so it was straight to jamming. Don't let the bass snobs out there lie to you squire has really stepped their game up. Might wanna throw some new strings on it. Overall I'm super happy with it.

Product Review My style is pop punk, punk rock and pop rock. The look and feel of this bass are so killer and the icing on the cake for me is it weighs around 6 lbs. I needed something light for my bad back so I scored. Out of the box it needed a setup but that's to be expected for such a cheap, priced bass. I swapped out the Fender strings for some La Bella, Low Tension, Flexible Flats b/c I read on some bass form that they are the best for a short scale. I'm using the .042, .056, .070, 100 Stainless Steel, Round Core. So far I love the strings but would like to try others. I plan to add Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders and a Leo Quan BadAss Bridge II to compare how it improves the sound. I would like to see Squier or Fender offer an upgraded version with better parts and a padded gig bag.

Product Review For a home studio application, I needed a "play it yourself" bass, instead of the generic short clips of audio that you get with a computer program. To be picky, I wanted a bass that has a thin narrow neck, unlike a Precision, and less heavy/ long. The Squire Vintage Mod Jaguar SS fit my home studio situation perfectly. The variety of sounds this bass put out really surprised me. The two different pickups, Jazz and Precision, give deep smooth lows up to twangy highs. I did replace the pickup selector (small round knob) with a 'chicken head' knob to feel which variable position it was in, without looking to see where the tiny white line on the knob is. The pickups appear to be quite strong, for a Squire. This is not a neck heavy guitar. The balance point is in the middle when you strap it on. Also good workmanship on an Indo product. the ultimate consideration is that I've save over a thousand bucks and got a studio quality bass with good sound! Impressive attributes for a Squire!

Product Review This squier vintage modified jaguar bass - short scale is pretty awesome. Do not listen to the people who tell you squier is poor quality. New squier guitars and basses are very close to their fender herritage. Maybe better in a few areas....$$ Very high quality. It has all the things that make a short scale bass look and feel like a long scale. Has what you need nothing more, it looks vintage as well. It feels like a modern bass while looking vintage. The only area it could be improved are the control knobs feel a little thin to me, maybe some thicker or heavier plastic could improve this. Great tone, thus bass can be picked, fingered or slapped. Sounds great whichever style of play you choose. Impressive looking finish. Could possibly come in a few more colors. But basic black suits me, red and silver available. Again I love that squier has put this much quality and time into such an affordable bass. Truely puts this bass within reach for all. This bass is a player out of the box. But for the best experience have a professional setup completed.
