This is a solid guitar now that I set it up, but out of the box there were two big issues. 1. It had 9-42 strings and that is just too light for a 24 in. scale instrument. And 2. The screws that adjust the height of the bridge were so loose that the bridge would get lower and lower as you played until it was unplayable. I added 10-48 string and put some thread lock on the bridge screws and it is playing well now. The issue with the bridge, though not hard to fix, just made it so I couldn't give this five stars.

The squier cv Jaguar doesn't disappoint, excellent build quality along with great service from AMS. Exactly what I expected from a Jaguar, pickups are great for the style and sound I'm looking for. Even distortion with bridge pickup is fine. Dial in the settings with your amp , ignore the fact that their single coils.

After a good set up this guitar is a great instrument for the price. I have the sunburst and the black one. I installed Descendant vibrato and bridges on both and it really helped with all the infamous and annoying Jaguar issues. I highly recommend even though it is nearly unplayable out of the box without a proper setup and some mods. But overall it has amazing tone. The pickups sound amazing and the neck is super comfortable.

I haven't had this guitar very long, but I am very surprised how nice this Squire Jaguar guitar is. I love the classic 70's design. The finish is beautiful, sounds great and plays great. The factory setup is near perfect. Definitely exceeds my expectations. The only thing better would be the Fender American version.
There is nothing that I dislike about this guitar, I would recommend it to a friend or family member. If you like the style and need a great guitar for a low cost, just add to CART!

I have bought a good number of guitars from AMS in the last two years. This is the first time I have had an issue. The vibrato bar was missing in the package. I call AMS and feel like I got blown off and given a phone number for Fender to beg for a missing part. Sure felt blown off. Fender promised me a replacement, but no date committment. Still, for all I have bought from this store, sure felt a single issue was too much for them to deal with.

It’s a really decent Jaguar , it’s not perfect , the Good : nice body contours and pickups are really. Nice compared to my 65 jag reissue, the squier is way louder output , and the tuners are solid.
The Bad : razor sharp fret ends and frets are really high , the vibrato is pretty noisy and cheap , and it needs a neck shim , but that’s what I bought it for , I replaced the trem with a fender locking and it’s awesome , also leveled the frets and took care of the sharp fret ends , shimmed the neck, and put a new wiring harness from Tone Master, great company and awesome kits , all in all a great little guitar to upgrade ,?Its a Awesome Jag mow.

Aesthetically beautiful retro style Squier with a sound that is just as pleasing. This model has more knobs than anything other guitar that allows for so much sound customization. The guitar came in almost mint condition, not even the smallest scratch (this is the first guitar I've ordered off the internet). The only slight dislike I have isn't even with the guitar but the stock strings, but that is usually a given with any new guitar. The customer service at AMS is superb... I highly recommend!

Took a chance on one of these, regretted selling a reissue years ago. Previously bought the Mascis jazzmaster and was impressed with where Squier was going. When it arrived I was really impressed with what I received given the price point. Guitar is solid, doesn’t feel cheap by any means. Some might find pickups little underwhelming but they pretty good through a Blues Deville. You’ll likely have to adjust the set up, but other than that guitar is great. Squier is clearly going out of their way to step up their game in the quality department.

The nut on this guitar stinks. I can't play anything on the high E past the third fret.
Two stars might be a lot to take off, but it will cost
me money to replace the nut unless I learn to cut one myself.
Other than that, just as good as Mexican Fenders.
Don't buy one that says Fender just because you
want to look like your favorite players. Look
like yourself and save some money.
The pick ups are crisp and bright, but there are so many
options to dull em down a bit. Some expensive pick ups
might improve it some.

This is my third guitar and first Squier. I have been trying to play for the last 20 years on and off and thought I needed a new guitar to get me motivated to play more but didn't want to spend to much money.
This guitar and AMS were both a great find for me. I received the guitar in just 3 days and have been playing it everyday for the last four weeks. I was a little concerned with YOUTUBE videos about the bridge but I do believe it is how its designed and does not need fixing. The fit and finish is beautiful with a smooth and fast neck action. The setup seems good to me and I love the tremolo bar. I did have to watch some videos to explain all the controls but once explained it all makes sense.
I love the guitar and the great buying experience from AMS. No complaints , just complements.

If you bought this guitar, it's probably not your first. This is number six for me in my first year of going back and relearning guitar. I'm 53. I half ass played the bass when I was in my late teens and got married, had a few kids, and forgot all about playing music. Anyway, back to now. This is an awesome guitar and I would never have gotten it if not for AMS. I was buying cheap guitar after cheap guitar and never getting what I wanted. With AMS, not only can I buy good guitars and equipment, I don't have to be broke. I can have the good stuff and just concentrate on getting better.

I mostly bought this because of how rad it looked. I play in a punk band and not only the look, but the sound is just way better than expected. This guitar is amazing especially for the price, I’m definitely thinking about buying the black one next. 100% recommend!!

I've had this guitar for about two months now and absolutely love it!! The set up was pretty good right out of the box, just lowered the action a little. Fit and finish is great. Primarily got it to play some surf music and it does that very well. Delivery was quick and American musical supply was great throughout the whole transaction. Couldn't be happier.

This is a phenomenal guitar for the price. It has all the feel and the tone of a real Fender Jaguar. The pickups are first-rate, the fit and finish are excellent, and the guitar is a sight to behold in person. I bought the black one, since I always liked Sterling Morrison’s (of the Velvet Underground) ‘64 Jaguar, which is also black. This guitar gets me the classic surf tones, and so much more. I played the classic Chuck Berry-styled intro on the Beach Boys’ “Fun, Fun, Fun and it nailed it. Great rock guitar, too. It can also get heavy if you add distortion, and using the rhythm channel yields a nice smooth overdrive with a pedal. Definitely a great buy, and it’s a thrill to play.
