Product Rating Product Review I have a fairly extensive collection of fender guitars built over 45 years. This is only the second Squire, as they didnt exist when I was at that price point. That being said-the squire bass 6 is a fine instrument. Yes the bridge is a bit dodgy and the tuners likely will need upgrade- but the overall quality exceeds expectations. There are few times in this world I would say young folks are luckier than we were in the sixties- but this is one. Good feel, easy to play, good tones- and a beyond reasonable price, No reason not to try one.

Product Review To say I was shocked by this bass is an understatement. Right out of the box it was playable. The action set low where it should be. No scratches on the finish. Feels like I got away with robbery considering the quality and price!!!!

Product Review Fast shipping and good packaging. Wouldn't stay in time at all, and buzzed on the lower 2 strings. I changed the crap stock strings to DR flat wounds from Amazon, and all the problems went away.

Product Review This guitar is a great way for a guitarist to learn bass, and a great way for a bassist to learn guitar! I purchased this instrument to help me learn guitar after years of playing bass and it was just what I needed. Regular electric guitars felt so small compared to the basses I’ve owned, but this helped me become comfortable with using the fretboard in a different way without sacrificing any playability or sound.

Product Review I knew what I was getting into when I purchased this bass. It's a fun, quirky instrument that isn't really either a bass or a guitar. It's own thing entirely. But, it's got a lot of issues. The Jazzmaster bridge is a big point of fault for this instrument. It causes the guitar to go out of tune, and intonation will never be right unless you modify it. Currently, mine is stock, and it sounds pretty bad. There are a lot of videos online that show you how to fix it, with either a new bridge (suggestions include a Mastery or Staytrem. Staytrem doesn't ship to the US.) or modifying the stock one. The nut is another concern, it's an extremely soft plastic material. Pickups sound a bit anemic, but it's nothing that can't be changed out - some companies make special Bass 6 pickups. The stock strings are flubby, the answer seems to be LaBelle flat wounds. Fit and finish is great, as I've come to expect from the Classic Vibe series, it looks very cool and vintage. All in all, I'm satisfied knowing what I was getting into and the work needed to make this a playable instrument. Three stars because even though I enjoy this thing, Fender really should be putting in the work to remedy these issues themselves - and not pass the buck to the end consumer.

Product Review Go big or go home. I play guitar and this is an easy 30" scale to transition to for me. There are a few things that should add to your fun, bigger flat wound strings and a new bridge. Gator makes a big soft bass case that fits. Pickups sound good. I wish there were more color options.

Product Review First of all, let me say this: I LOVE my Bass VI! Now, with that said, let me put a big * next to that. The actual instrument itself is fantastic. I love the fit and finish, the fretboard is much nicer than I expected, the sunburst finish is beautiful, and I honestly like the pick-ups, (even though a lot of people complain they are too bright and weak. Mine are fine.) Now, on to the problems with the Bass VI: as you might expect with a cheaper instrument, some corners are cut, and in this case it is the electronics. They are ok but I wouldn't expect them to last long nor would I trust them to life on the road. A simple trip to your local repair person to upgrade the pots and input jack would serve you well. Not a big deal, tbh. The worst part of the instrument is that terrible, horribly designed bridge. It's garbage. Intonation in nearly impossible. Do a quick Google search and you'll see what I mean. You can upgrade the bridge to a Mastery or something similar, but you need to factor in AT LEAST another $100! (Closer to $200, honestly.) I found a cheap fix by getting some brass inserts and putting them in the holes for the bridge, while also turning the bridge backwards to allow for more adjustment room for the intonation screws. But this doesn't change the fact that we shouldn't have to make modifications just to make it playable- Fender should be making sure they come from the factory with the proper configuration, even if it needs to be adjusted. So, with work the Bass VI can be fantastic. Again, I love mine; I play it all the time and it has inspired me. Just know what you are getting into....

Product Review I really am impressed with this Bass VI. The pickups sound great, no need to change them out. This model has an upgraded bridge, mustang version, and came set up very nicely. Side note: This Bass VI fits in a Fender Jazz Bass Case just fine, No need to buy the more expensive Bass VI case. Anyway, I love this model and am surprised I haven’t bought one sooner!!!

Product Review This is a bit rough around the edges, and really requires a bit of modification and setup to really shine. However, the capability and true unique aspects of it really make it worth it for me. Just make sure to do your research, there is well documented struggles (and solutions) with this particular instrument.

Product Review I absolutely love the Bass VI. It's a really unique instrument that occupies a strange space and makes you think differently about how you play. About the only negative is the bridge. I did what a lot of people do and flipped it around and added some gaffer's tape to the posts. Helped with stability and intonation. I also shimmed the neck. Seems like that's pretty common as well. For a $400 bass, it didn't really bother me that much so I'm sticking with 5 stars!

Not Quite A Guitar, Not Quite A Bass. Pretty Darn Neat

Product Review Thiccccccc 6 string guitar set with special light gauge bass strings. Got it as a recording tool/ something different to experiment with. Think I got it on sale for around $350 and it was most definitely worth the price. Mixed with effects, this thing can do all kinds of cool stuff. Whammy bar is awesome as well. My only beef with this guitar would be weak sounding electronics. But for the expectations relative to price and brand I’ve been immensely pleased.

Product Review AMS delivers as always great product. I love the hybrid feel to this guitar. Settling itself an octave below a regular guitar.
