Product Rating Product Review I dont think the younger crowd is really informed on the essentials of knowing how and why some guitarists have abilities far beyond others, although great there seems to be something missing.. Ywgwie for example, The euroswedish guitar dynamo actually was a pianist along the orchestra type and went onto guitar and his extentsive knowledge of music gave him the ability to perform beyond what most can on guitar, and of course along with his ability is his weapon of choice the scalloped fretboard. On the other side of the pond in america you had the late great Eddie Van Halen whom also started on piano. I dont know if that was planned understudy or what, because ive seen those that play by ear like SRV or note to note by the book in ELO. RIP EDDIE

Product Review The Yngwie malmsteen strat is by far the best guitar I’ve ever owned. The scalloped frets make bends and vibrato effortless. People have said that it’s takes time to get used to the scallops but I have found that it feels so natural. I highly recommend this guitar to anyone who is thinking about buying it.

Product Review Truly a dream guitar. The scalloped fretboard is a wonder to play, and the single coil pickups are as hot as any homebucker I’ve ever used. The guitar did need to be set up when I received it, and had a light buzzing issue. Once those anomalies were dialed in, truly an heirloom guitar.

Product Review After a good set up, the guitar plays like a dream. The scalloped fingerboard took awhile to get used to, but now I don't even notice. I've had it close to a month and is definitely a keeper as the pickups sound amazing. yes, it meets my expectations.

Product Review For several months I have thought about getting this guitar. I read about it and watched some videos. So for Christmas I decided to buy it. The scalloped neck was the main thing I wanted. When I got it I could see the precession and care that was crafted in the scalloping process. The fretboard is incredible. I like the vintage yellow color too. The next thing I wanted was the sound of the pickups being high end. They too delivered. I am very satisfied with this guitar and glad I decided to get it. I am going to be using it on new CD project I started in the Neo- classical style! If you want to capture that classic Malstine tone, and experience the speed of the scalloped fretboard this guitar is the tool your looking for. I want to also thank AMS for making it possible to get this guitar on their payment plan. Without AMS offering the payment plan to purchase it I would not be able to get this amazing guitar. I have done business with AMS for a few years and this guitar is the best!

Product Review The Yngwie Malmsteen Signature Fender Stratocaster is the best playing guitar I have ever owned! The scalloped neck allows for extraordinary control and feel of wide bends, so you can easily make the guitar sing like a soprano or purr like a Ferrari! The finish on this thing is gorgeous and the setup was impeccable!! It played like a dream straight out of the case and I haven’t been able to keep my hands of the guitar since I got it! The Yngwie fury pickups scream a vintage powerful creamy tone that is distorted but always clean and clear. It’s the tone of my wildest guitar dreams. And lastly the service from American Musical was timely and impeccable!! I have now ordered two guitars from American Musical and I will continue to order more. I see no reason why anyone would order music supplies online from any other music supply store! Simply put American Musical rules!!

Product Review I’ve never really been a Strat player, I always have loved (and still do) the EVH gear amps and guitars. Yngwie Malmsteen has always been one of my guitar heroes ever since I can remember and I’ve always wanted one of his guitars but never could quite afford one.. until now! I had played a scalloped neck just a few times in music stores but never had enough time to really get a feel for it but now that I own a new YJM Strat, I’m addicted to the feel and playability of the scallops!! This guitar is AMAZING!! The YJM FURY pickups are PERFECT! They provide perfect clarity and tone! The pickups are hot but not as hot as my EVH Wolfgang pickups. (Totally different sounding guitars). This guitar is now my #1 !! (Can’t believe I’d ever say that over my Ernie Ball Music Man EVH signature Guitar!). The Guitar was shipped promptly and arrived fully set up perfectly and packaged nicely! (Just had to tune it slightly but that’s normal). Highly recommended!

Product Review Superb, Stellar, are understatements when describing this. You simply have to play it to believe it, to understand it, as I can only describe it as a "revelation" of sorts. The scalloped neck is a dream. The tone, the clarity, this guitar is a beast beyond anything I could have ever expected. Thank you to AMS and to my sales agent Josh. Truly truly helpful and understanding. Real musicians helping real musicians, this is what seperates AMS from the pack. Customer service is 2nd to none. The guitar, well, she"s my number 1 now!!!!!

Product Review I've been an Yngwie Malmsteen fan for many years (since the early 80's). I play many styles of music and while I am not a virtuoso I'm very selective about my guitar purchases. There has to be beauty, playability and attention to detail in the parts and setup. This guitar meets those standards without a doubt. Fenders are notorious for going out of tune; especially, where a tremolo is involved. The YJM strat is completely playable like a modern guitar and the harmonics are perfectly balanced. You just feel good with this guitar and it delivers tones as promised.

Product Review Amazing tone feel and sustain is awesome You get what you pay for trust me Must have a light touch and you will get the most out of it. Neck is fast and easy to play, a little getting used to almost going from an automatic transmission to stick a lot differs and more control of each note. Definitely yngwies tone I suggest a DOD Pedal to get the full effect Perfect brand new I think I got more than what I was expecting Out of tune a little intonation, high e will need some serious adjustment other than that amazing action

This guitar is easily one of the best Strats I have ever played and definitely the fastest. The craftmanship is top notch. The volume pot is smooth as silk for doing volume swells and the tremelo stays in tune. I read where this is one of the best Fenders ever made, and I believe it. I have been a die hard Fender user for many years. This guitar has been extremely reliable. The only adjustments I have had to make were to the tremelo springs and I had to raise the bridge saddles a little. These are typical adjustments that I make to all my guitars, as I prefer higher string action. Your general opinion of this product. As a Fender user for decades, thsi is the best Fender has to offer. I wouldn't play anything else. This is THE GUITAR for neoclassical shred. Yngwie and Fender really had their act togetherwhen they designed this masterpiece. Definitely has Yngwie's mojo all over it! GREAT for shredding. No mushy sound. The YJM Fury pickups ROCK! AWESOME finish! It's gonna have that cool aged look, much like my '68 Strat. This guitar is elegant and a monster shred machine all rolled into one. This guitar was ready to rock out of the box. I did make a few minor adjustments, as I like my string action a little higher than normal, but that's just a personal preference.

This is a very solid guitar. I have owned this guitar now for almost 2 years and it has held up well. It has been very reliable. Your general opinion of this product. This is a great product overall. It may take a little getting used to the scalloped fret board but this is a quality instrument. Again it may take a little getting used to the scalloping. The neck is god for playing up high on the fretboard. It has a nice tone with nice pickups. Cool sonic blue Nice Action out of the box.

I've owned this guitar since 2002 (when you could still get one new for about $1100). The fit and finish is simply flawless, as it was the day it arrived. It also took several months to get after I ordered it...Fender was backed up on YJM Strats at the time. The guitar has always been dependable, stays in tune, and all electronics still work as new. This guitar looks and plays like it did when it was brand new. It truly arrived without a noticeable flaw from the factory. I was impressed. Yngwie calls Strats "workhorses", and that they definitely are. This one is no exception. Your general opinion of this product. Here's where the guitar is hit-or-miss, at least for me. I am a huge Yngwie fan, and have been for over 20 years. I am not a huge Fender or Stratocaster fan, and never have been. I don't like their necks and I don't like the standard heel. I knew, in part, what I was getting when I ordered this guitar. However, there are things that stand out: the scalloped fretboard (combined with Dunlop 6000 frets), while it takes a little getting used to, allows you to play with a VERY light touch. The DiMarzio YJM neck pickup is probably the most amazing sounding low output pickup I've ever heard. The brass nut seems to be very low drag and appears to make chords ring much more pleasantly than a plastic nut. That being said, what would it cost you to build an identical guitar? I've priced it out and it's under $1,000, all inclusive. No autograph stamp, of course. This guitar has a beefy neck that took a lot of getting used to. I've got girly-man hands...or should I say hands that are accustomed to narrow nut-widths and short scale necks...or the very flat Ibanez and 80's Charvel/Jackson necks. Spend some time with it, however, and you'll find it's very comfortable to play. Oh, as a side note: I don't know if this was my particular guitar, but I had a very big problem with the high E string sliding off the fretboard...it seems to sit VERY close to the edge. Paired with an overdrive pedal, this guitar sounds Godlike. When I first acquired the guitar, I was playing a Peavey XXX amp. The pickups in the YJM Strat are not high-output, so you're not going to get that singing, violin-like tone and sustain Yngwie gets without an overdrive. This probably explains why Yngwie himself uses an overdrive. Because I'm a sucker for Yngwie, I bought the DOD YJM308, and it truly made this guitar scream. Without the OD, think of your average low-output Strat sound...that's what you get with this guitar, as well. There is always the option of replacing the pickups, but I would never mod a signature guitar. It just doesn't seem right. This is Yngwie's standard "vintage white" (read: yellow) in nitrocellulose. It looked great when it was new, and it looks great now. Enough said. I have NO idea why this guitar is offered in "Sonic Blue". If you're a "shred" player like me and you're an 80's reject (also like me), you most likely grew up playing Jackson, Charvel, Kramer, or Ibanez. Let's face it, those were the shred guitars of the 80's. They were known in particular for very low action, and the ability to achieve that without buzz. This guitar comes with what I consider to be VERY high action. This cannot be called a "flaw" since it is Yngwie's signature model, and he prefers higher action. The good news, if you can call it that, is that the action can be lowered significantly without buzzing.
