Product Rating Product Review This Tele is Hands down the hottest nastiest guitar I’ve put my paws on. I’m absolutely taken in by the way she plays and screams. Super light because of the weight reduction. The neck, oh the neck…is PERFECT! I wish I wouldn’t have waited so long to make this purchase. Only buy from AMS

Product Review Unbeknownst at the time I tried the black one. Didn't know it was a James Root guitar. Ever since I had to have one. Everything you need in a guitar. I however did change the pickup guard. Threw on DiMarzio strap. Locking tuners and EMGs. Keep it simple

Product Review Needed a total setup and fret edges filed down. Zero on quality control out of the factory. Gave it four stars because after all the filing, truss rod adjustments and intonating, I love this guitar. I have several Mexico factory fenders and this is the only one I’ve ever had problems with. I do all my own setups and mess about with my guitars all the time so I didn’t mind. Maybe just got the funky one out of the lot. Honestly it’s a great guitar. Sounds amazing clean and rages on overdrive. A great tele that’s a little outside the box for fender.

Product Review The simplicity of this guitar should attract players who want something straight to the point. It’s obviously well suited for rock/metal but still has some of that classic tele snap when playing clean. It’s a beast, the neck is full-but not overbearing. The jumbo frets make soloing/bending a breeze. The ebony fingerboard is nice and smoot, and the satin finish is pleasing. All my friends that have played this guitar say the same thing. Great work Fender!

Product Review Fender has been one of my favorites since I picked up my first Stratocaster. It's not often you find one that speaks to you. The sound is incredible. It is in the top 5 of my electric guitars in my 30 years. This Fender will stay in my collection.

Product Review I have both the Jazzmaster and now telecaster and both are amazing guitars. The action is almost nothing and the EMGs sound awesome. My only gripe is that button was all marred up and I really expect it to be as perfect as my Jazzmaster for what they cost. Everything else was perfect and I’d definitely recommend it

Product Review I bought this guitar being that Jim root is one of my favorite guitarists and I was excited and had high hopes, but I’m not completely satisfied with it. I’ve played a decent variety of guitars with different finishes both on body and necks as well as different shaped necks. The neck on the guitar (my guitar at least) didn’t feel that great. The neck where they the frets feel a little conclaved when I’m standing up and using the guitar and it just feels weird to me. Now if I sit down with the guitar it’s not bad, I can play pretty well on it but it’s problem for me since I’m a live musician and well I gotta be standing. One other thing I didn’t like was how close that volume knob is, I’d start playing and within 30 seconds to a minute and the volume knob is at zero so to me it’s not reliable to use live but all around the guitar feels nice in the weight it’s not heavy and it’s not a feather also it sounds good. If you’re used to the volume knob so close you’ll love the guitar

Product Review I usually stay away from fender but this thing had great specs and looked great. I wasn't disappointed it plays great and the case is pretty cool. One knob is fine with me since I don't mess with those anyway however I wish it didn't need to be right where I can hit it all the time and turn down the volume.

Product Review I wasn't sure what to expect from a Fender Tele without any tone nobs and active pickups but once I plugged it in (and lowered the volume) I was in love. From the moment I opened the box, I was in love. The salt and pepper case it comes in is itself very beautiful. Definitely won't be gigging with the case to keep its look intact. The feel of this Tele is unlike any I've ever played. It has a matte finish which is awesome. Everyone who sees it automatically has a "wow!" reaction to it because it looks like a stormtrooper. I did have to fine-tune the dials on my amp to get the sound I wanted but definitely love what I get not to mention sustain for days. I'm very happy with my purchase and you will be too.

Product Review Just need a little neck adjustment but every thing else was perfect. the jim root telecaster is one fine guitar. don't let that it was made in Mexico that it is cheaply made because its not. very good workmanship and the tweet case that comes with the guitar is awesome as well. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who likes metal, hard rock, blues I play a little of everything and its suits me just fine.

Product Review This thing is amazing!! I have owned lots of guitars. I am a Fender guy and I was for sure no guitar could come close to my Kurt Cobain Jaguar. But boy was I wrong. This thing feels amazing. Good weight to it. Love the nitro white paint job. It should show character very soon. The pickups are amazing, without being too over powering. If you are thinking about it, just do it. You will love it. Don’t miss your chance to own one of the best Fenders around.

Product Review Right out of the case the action was super high, but with a quick adjustment with the wrench that fender provided I had the action slammed. I'm usually a les paul guy so the 12" radius felt like home to me. The neck is amazing and the weight is perfect. I've been playing emg for shoot I don't know, 15 years? I've come across a lot of haters...that just don't know how to eq their amp apparently. The 81 cuts like a knife and the 60 is big and beefy. One of my all time favorite neck pickups. The middle position just sings. All in all a fantastic instrument worth every penny.

Product Review I bought this guitar from American Musical Supply and it is a work of art. Be advised that it is made in Mexico but that is not a negative with this instrument. You will find the action a bit higher on this guitar than a traditional tele. It has huge frets and was basically designed for heavy gauge strings and drop tunings. I like the heavier weight of the mahogany body and the ebony fret board. I don't recall ever seeing an ebony fret board on a Fender before and in my opinion this guitar is a good investment and will be sought after by collectors in years to come. Also the case that it comes in is absolutely gorgeous. Locking tuners, EMG pick-ups, ebony fret board, mahogany body - Fender really pulled out all of the stops with this guitar.

This guitar is very well made! The fret work is great and the feel of the neck is amazing. The overall feel of the guitar is very solid. In this instance being MIM is a very good thing. I have had this guitar for a little over 2 months, played it almost every day. Seems like it will hold up well in the long run. Your general opinion of this product. Overall this guitar is the quality instrument you would expect from Fender. The colaboration with Jim yeilded a beautiful guitar. The case is awesome as well. The fact that the guitar came with strap locks was also a very nice touch. The neck is smooth and fast! The neck has a little chunck to it but not in a bad way. I don't have huge hands but am still able to play comfortably. Volume control is nicely placed and the 3 way switch is far enough away that you don't accidentally move it when playing aggresively, but close enough to switch when needed. This is where this Tele shines and comes into its own. The combination of the mahogony body with the EMGs is a match made in heaven. Tone is nice and fat as would be expected. The pickups retain their definition even when heavily distored. I didn't buy this guitar expecting a great clean tone but it delivers very nicely on clean settings as well. The guitar sounds good, and I don't miss the tone knob at all. I got the flat black guitar with the maple finger board. The guitar looks great. Paint job is well done. Action was very playable right out of the box. Lowered it just a bit due to personal taste.

The guitar is henche en mexico. I know Fender has caught a lot of flack for making these in Mexico, but i don't see any difference in the quality. The neck feels nice and smooth, and the body's satin finish feels and looks great. I've only had it for 2 weeks, but no problems to report. It does feel more solid than some import guitars I have. Your general opinion of this product. I wanted one of these since the day they were introduced. This telecaster is the total package for those of us that want classic looks with a great metal sound. The body feels a bit heavier than my imports, however the neck on this is phenomenal. Total Shredders neck, it was based off of a Charvel neck. Smooth finish makes it easy to play. As mentioned in the tone, the EMG's retain their classic characteristics, they just come across a little brighter compared to other EMG equipped guitars I own. The finish looks great. No Flaws no problems The action out of the box was a little loose, little slack in the strings, but however, was somewhat in tune, 1/2 a step down. I'm making a note of this to potential buyers, as the artist who uses the guitar typically tunes down anywhere to B to A and other various tunings.

It seems very reliable. & it never fails to make me smile as I play it I haven't had it too long but I'm sure I won't need to buy another guitar ever again! (but I will) Your general opinion of this product. I own the white one & I'm in love with this guitar!!! It sounds unbelievable! & the lock down tuners are the best! The whole body is smooth & the pickups give a great sound this is the best guitar I've ever played. Thanks James Root for designing a masterpiece!! It feels good. A lil heavy, kinda a think neck for me but I easily got use to it. I love the pickups. They sound amazing. Oh my god!! I love the paint! I have the white one & the flat white look amazing! It was great other then a tune it was ready to plug & play.

The quality is also something of a bit of a surprise. I expected a little less for the money but let me tell you, this is built super solid and tight. Mahogony body feels great. No problems yet. Your general opinion of this product. I have played and owned everything under the sun and this Jim Root model Tele is the absolute finest instrument yet in my quest for the eternal tone and playability. The feel is solid. The neck as some beef to it but not too much. Just perfect for fast runs and the 25.50 scale is the way to go folks. It's night and day between this and a 24.75 scale. The tone is CLEAR. Definition for notes while playing distorted chords and clean is pristine. The finiah is a flat black that is smooth and silky. Awesome finish. The neck is the best feeling neck yet. Here is what is amazing. The action was PERFECT out of the box. No need to do anything.

A+ It hasn't let me down yet. This thing is built like a tank. Your general opinion of this product. I really appreciate the quality fender put into this axe for the price. A+ This guitar was made to play live. The only issue I would think people would have with this guitar is its weight. If you are used to Les Pauls, you will feel right at home.. Strats, well, not so much. The EMGs are consistent and powerful. Think Grand piano load and clear! I like the satin finish, the neck is fast and doesn't get gummy when sweaty, and the White finish on the body looks like a salt block - kinda neet-o. Spot-on action, great fretwork, everything was as it should be.

This Guitar is very well made right down to the beautiful tweed plush Case it was shipped in. I was pretty leary of buying via the Internet but no more. This whole experience exceeded my expectations. I've only owned it for a week but so far awesome. Your general opinion of this product. I've never played Tele's but that has now changed as I will be playing more of them. They are built for shredding. And if you're reading this I highly recommend this Guitar! This Guitar was perfect out of the Case. The action was spot on. And I love the mohagany body as it has weight to it. The Neck and frets are made for shredding and comfort. The finish is beautiful with its black hardware and classic - modern look. Jim Root and Fender hit dead on with this one. This Guitar has the best of both worlds with it's EMG Pickups. The 81 and 60. The 81 in the Bridge will satisfy the metal in you and the neck pickup is very clean. Any Tone is easily accessable with this beauty. BEAUTIFUL! Dead on!

made with frets popping out! didn't stand up brand new! Your general opinion of this product. i bought this guitar new from a store, white one, and couldn't get it set up without buzz. turns out that the frets were popping out!! i had to take it to get fixed at a cost of $277 to me to make it playable. per email from fender they "can't work with me" cause i didn't go to an "authorized service center" to be fixed! (i took it to the best repairman in town according to everyone out here!) plays great now after getting somebody to fix it! great great great now after getting the neck and frets fixed by somebody other than fender!

It's very nice and theres plenty. it's also good to stand over time i have one but it broke because my little bro broke the neck just because it was 6 years old and he hit it on concrete. Your general opinion of this product. i liked it. its the exact thing james root plays in his concerts. i went to go see slipknot 2 days ago and i took a pic of james roots guitar and pointed it over the screen and there was no difference so i am hoping i can get another. it is kinda heavy but it is really playable one of the most playable guitars ive ever played it feels like a gibson les paul in your lap but there isnt its james roots guitar. its all good everythings the best pickups are good the color and i like the tone to it. it looks good i personaly like the white but if i get it agin im going with the black because the white is confused alot with billy joe armstrongs les paul junior with my friends. once you take it out of the box i bet you would cry because this guitar is a peice of art and a musical instrument its the best but if you get this guitar you might want to order a good amp.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
Looks, feels solid. Made in Mexico (not mentioned in Specs). Appears frets were smoothed, overall very good quality -- except there was little or no setup. 1st string buzzed until setup.

FEATURES:
EMG pickups are HOT. You can sound like you're Chickin Pickin, but then when you punch into a solo it becomes a Les Paul on Steroids. Even though the shipped-setup had the strings very high, it still fretted like butter. Very responsive to pull-offs and hammer-ons.

EASE OF USE:
No tone control, one volume control, locking tuners. No-brainer. HOWEVER, there were no instructions on changing the battery.

VALUE:
It's worth the $900+-.

SOUND:
Fine sound.
