Product Rating Product Review Fantastic instrument! It handles low and highs very well. If I want a slap tone I got it. If I want a fat tone I got it. Smooth neck as well with a thin profile. Worth the money and even though its made in Mexico it right up there with the American basses in my opinion. Ams got this to me in two days. Cant beat that!

Product Review I have made several purchases through AMS and never had any problems. This was perfect right out of the box ( gig bag ). I wish it came with a case, but for this price it was great. Going for an American deluxe today, hopefully I'll get it.

Product Review This bass rocks! I got it as a back up bass and it is quickly becoming one of my favourites. I play many different styles of music and it fits them all. From funk to punk and everywhere in between. Better than I expected. I knew it was a Mexi but it surpassed what I thought I would receive. Neck is a standard Jazz neck, fast and clean. I play finger style over the back pickup and it is placed perfectly where I need it. Controls are so close I can roll off or on between notes almost! It has every tone you have come to expect from the Jazz. Very retro and my friends and fellow players all thought it was an old bass. I love it. I got more than I expected for the price. I'm still going to add an American Jazz but only because I've always wanted one. But this bass is very very close in every category! I only had to do a minor setup job, because I put very light strings on it and so I could lower the action just a bit more.

yeah, hey this is a really well built bass, it's Mexican or Malaysian, just great! much better than that ~awful~ 60's Fender Jazz Bass's i used to play as a kid. the pickups & active tones. 60's Jazz Bass's were *DEAD*; (I prefer the 60's P bass, much punchier..) I can make this do ~bidding~ ...that what you mean? All the great looks of the Jazz Bass, the solid ~feel~; the "wearing a concrete block on yer' neck of the Fender Jazz Bass.... I love this bass I beat on a bass, so yes .."bright,snappy". when i'm not doing that, it's "dark & smooth" Sleezy, like how Fenders R 'possed to ~look~ fine, big fat Fender bass neck. nice rosewood fretboard

I'm Impressed!

Very durable feel. Dependable - the two weeks I've had it it's worked fine. For the money - I wouldn't go anywhere else. The best feature to me is the variety of tone I can dial up. Really nothing to add. Great - I can dial slap and laid-back smooth jazz tone. Great feel on the C-shaped neck, very fast. I like the balance. The controls are placed were I can access easily while playing without looking - it's a Fender. The pickups are very distinquished - when I dial up the neck or bridge it is distinctive. When blend is flat you can tell. Great - very vintage look. Had to do basic adjustment to my style of play.

The One That Got Away

She looked good and I planned on getting one until the price jumped up $160.00 I could have managed the 3 easy $216.66 payments but 3 $270.00 payments in this economy is just too much. sounds confused, why raise prices? if you lower prices will you not move more merchandice? ease up the burdon off of the working man, or in my case the disabled man. Feelin' like I might just have to look around and see if the prices have gone up everywhere and see if I can catch a brake somewhere I didn't intend to sound mean or direspectful it's just that I had made up my mind on getting this here bass... I'm not finished I'm pro-active, I'll find some sort of way (leagal) to get my paws around the J-bass

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
instrument feels good and solid came with a great finish, other than the action (which is easily adjustable) this instrument was everything I expected it to be.

FEATURES:
Love the jazz bass tone and the active electronics and noisless pick up are great love the fact that you have a single knob for pick up selection makes blending both PU's a lot easier.

EASE OF USE:
just plug and play fender includes a guide for the controls give it two minutes and you'll should be able to dial in a good tone

VALUE:
I think for the price the instrument is worth it I am very happy and satisfied if it is a jazz bass tone you seek this puppy will be good for you.

SOUND:
Great sound, jazz bass tone with a lot of low end, really boomy bass

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
My only gripe with any(EVERY, ALL)FENDER BASSES IS THAT DAGGUM PIECE OF @#!!#$!! BRIDGE! Can you give me an AMEN?!?!! I have replaced the "vintage" bridge with a Badass, and the beautiful thing sings!!! I give it a 4! Immediately replace the stock Fender strings with anything more robust like D'Adderios (or is that spelled with 1 D and 2 arrios?) I have only played Fender basses, this is my 2nd Jazz, and for the price-WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!

FEATURES:
All of that cool, huge Fender sound-N-stuff! PLUS- Active electronics!!!! Old and new school and schoon anew old type of @#!!&%@!! I give it a 4!

EASE OF USE:
The neck is the best. The tone says the rest. 5+

VALUE:
This bass is less valuable than the cure for Cancer, but more valuable then any thing in it's price range, when in doubt, buy Fender!

SOUND:
5+5+5+

STYLE:
Enigmatic

MUSIC EXPERIENCE:
Bass since 19- I am

Great Bass.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
It is very well built. Almost everyone tells me that it feels much more solid than many basses that they had played. Fender makes solid instruments and this one is awesome.

FEATURES:
This thing has more features than a swiss army knife. You can't see it now but there are 5 knobs for EQ Volume and Pickup Switcher and you only see 4 knobs. That is because the mid knob is on top of the bigger bass knob.

EASE OF USE:
It is pretty easy to use. When I received it the action was quite high, but I adjusted the neck and the bridge and now the action is perfect.

VALUE:
Very good price for this bass. Everyone tells me it plays even better than some American Jazz's they have played.

SOUND:
It is just a great sound. It has the classic Jazz Bass tone, with a little more kahunas. It has a great sound. It sounds great for an acoustic set or a rock set.
