Product Rating What is your opinion of this product? I love the hot rod deluxe. It's a great sounding amp, great looking amp, it's a very loud amp, even at lower settings. For the money, you get that great fender sound. The only negative I can say about this amp is this... When mine arrived, I inspected it quite well. I just happened to shake it for some reason, just from picking it up, and I heard a rattle. Not something small, but a large component moving around, lol. So I took the back cover off, and found several screws holding the amp components down, only half way screwed in. There are nuts on what look like where the power cord goes in, a little black box on the left, but there were only three there, all of which weren't tightened, and letting that thing jump all around. I found the other one stuck to the magnet. So after tightening those down, print that other nut back on, and tightening every screw on the inside of the amp, there was no more rattle, and no problems. So my advice is, everyone check your insides before you even start playing!

What is your opinion of this product? Overdrive doesn't sound good in this third generation deluxe, I prefer the original hot rods with the chrome plated panel sound better.

What is your opinion of this product? This amp has in-creditable sound and is a total joy to work with. Furthermore I'm always leery of things offered under the "demo, dent and scratch" banner! However, this is the second "dent and scratch" item I have bought from AMS and if and if there is a "dent and scratch" to be found, I cant find it, on either product! Thank you AMS

What is your opinion of this product? First i would like to say AMS was willing to exchange this amp. I purchased the amp and upon opening the box I had a bad power tube. I called Fender to find out where to bring the amp for service. The nearest Fender authorized guy was 35 miles from my home. I opted to have a very reputable local shop replace all the crappy Groove tubes with JJ's. The amp worked for a little over two weeks and started making a noise that turned out to be a bad voice coil in the very cheaply made speaker. I called Fender to see if they would just swap out the speaker under warranty and they politlely told me to find a high place and jump from it. At this point i decided to have the speaker replaced with a Wharehouse Reaper HP because the stock speaker was crap and i already spent money on the tubes. I really thought that would be it. A few weeks later and a solder joint in the board started to ket loose and the amp was making another noise and required more service. Sounds great....for now.

What is your opinion of this product? I have a fender head amp super sonic 100 and wanted similar tone in a combo I can just grab and go. I got it in this one. There are some negative reviews that mostly have to do with the speaker so I ordered a Eminence Canibas Rex which will be arriving today to put in nut after playing the amp for a week it sounds great with the mid level Celestion 70-80 speaker. I really like it. I am still going to try the Canibas Rex and if it sounds better great. Then I will put the Celestion 70-80 in my daughters peavy 65 wat 6505+ which currently has a scheduled in it that has some pretty harsh tones. This Celestion 70-80 should smooth that out I am hoping but as for the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III, you can't loose. Great combo without having to lug around a full stack and 90 pound head amp!

What is your opinion of this product? For those that had a bad experience with a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe or HR Deville you must have received one with bad tubes or wiring (which is easily fixed in these). I have owned 3 of these guys over the years as a gigging musician, along with Marshall's, Mesa's, and Orange Amps all in search of that perfect sound and I can tell you unless your playing crowds of 1K or more most pros wants something simple that sounds great to drag out to shows over time PERIOD. Even owning the others above, all of which are Head's/Cabs this is my go to for small/med gigs and the same is true with every other weekend warrior musician I know. Fender cleans are desired by almost EVERYONE, and throw a tube screamer, WAH, and delay/flang in front of this and you can get everything from Ozzy, to Hendrix, Rage, Korn, to MJ and Britney Spears, not to mention Blues. The other thing boys and girls, it's DEAD SIMPLE and a 1x12 combo 40watts has enough bang to bring down a 10Ksf room without being PA'd. This is a cover band guitarist dream amp I would even say based on simplicity and versatility. If you are new to TUBE amps, I recommend getting this and a silencer so you can have the amp cranked up (tubes hot) while listening at reasonable levels. This is actually a must if you live in a small place.
