I owned an early Blues Jr. I sold it because it didn't give me enough headroom for clean tones. Wanting a lighter amp I thought I'd try this newer model. I'm not sure what they did to it but the headroom improved a lot. Plugged my 335 into it and got a great jazz tone. This amp has enough power to get through most small to medium gigs. The amp color is great too. Glad I pulled the trigger and bought this one.

This is a great little blues amp that also gets some good clean jazz sounds as well. It does have a bit of a boxy sound, but that's the size of the cabinet, not the amps fault. The sparkle mod is more like an ice pick, and I will probably do one of the online mods to remove it. It sounds great with my tele and strat, and really gets some great blues tones with my P90 Les Paul. The master control is great for apartment practice, but it gets plenty loud to jam with a small combo.

So I bought the wine red BJ with the C Rex speaker Cause my tweed BJ is burning up one of the EL-84 power tubes every couple of months and I cant bear to be with out a BJ there great amps. I also bought the morley A/B/Y switch so I can pair the two together. Oh what a great sound when both amps are played at the same time !! Nothing like it for me. I prefer the clean tone and totally enjoy the rich full and warm Fender sound these amps provide at a low volume. Don't get me wrong they also pack a punch. Using a tube screamer or a Big muff the distortion is rock solid. Guitar wise Ive mostly been using an epi 335 and LP. Sounds great with the tele too, I'm sure there great with the strat to, but my go to is the 335. As for AMS there AWESOME...ROCKET FAST SHIPPING and loving the 4 pay, makes stuff so affordable for this average working Joe. I ordered it the Sunday July 2 and got it on the 5th... Most impressive since the 4th was a holiday, Thanks AMS I'm a customer for life!

I have an original Blues Jr the first year they were available. Still works beautifully, but I figured because of its age I should look into something newer. After a month's long search, I couldn't find anything better except this series III model. It is actually a big improvement that makes this amps tone really versatile. It can handle everything that I perform, from blues to rockabilly to jazz. Besides great tones, this amp has enough power to compete with loud drummers.

Great sounding tube amps aren't supposed to be this inexpensive, but the sound of this is great and will be suitable for any small indoor venue. I compared this side by side with the tweed version that's $75 more, and the sound is basically the same, i couldn't tell any difference. Plus the handle on this one is better.

I like it, Its Loud, has a fair amount of clean headroom.
I play R&B and Blues and I tend to play on the clean side, Its good for small gigs but would not take to medium or large gig unless Im gonna mic the amp. BUT that being said there is lots of tone to be had.....The one thing I DO like a lot is its easy on my BACK.....The speaker seems a little tighter that the others Ive heard and that is a good thing!
All in All Im very pleased with my purchase.

Absolutely Amazing! I was looking for some warm rich Fender tones paired with my American Deluxe Strat. capable of many genres from Jazz, Blues to Classic Rock. This is an amazing amp with a distinguished looks setting it apart from the normal black tolex or tweed versions. The C-Rex speaker option is amazing. You will not be disappointed.

It just arrived, so far so good, it's a Fender so I expect it to last.
I bought this as a light weight, small club/church gigging amp, however it is a limited edition amp, so I may end up only using it at church as it is so attractive that I prefer to keep it in excellent condition.
It comes with the Eminence Cannabis Rex hemp cone speaker, so I have not A/B'd it with the standard Blues Jr, but as which seems standard with all Hot Rod amps they tend to be high endy which is easily remedied by rolling off the treble and boosting the bass and adding warmth with the mid control.
I also appreciate the fact that the Fat switch can be remotely activated with the required single button footswitch which I also purchased. It not only tends to fatten up the amps low end while adding a bit more drive and hair on the notes, but also provides a bit of a boost much like a channel switch for lead rides.
Straight forward configuration, very versatile, and great price thanks to AMS!

Product Review
Love the amp it's the best Blues Junior yet (my second) Boutique tone and the wine tolex and wheat grill are very cool...
however....mine arrived with issues (a pervasive and annoying hum) The issue is now resolved but not before spending an uncomfortable amount of time on the phone with AMS. Just sayin' that customer service should have been easier... I normally shop for gear elsewhere and that probably will likely continue to be the case... 2 things happened ...1) the gear arrived with issues (which can happen) but 2) These guys didn't win a convert because of the taxing nature of resoving the issue.

I was wary to purchase a "non-factory sealed" amplifier, but it saved me $50.00. The amp sounds fantastic. I play in stereo and have it paired with my Wine/Wheat Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb. They match (wine/wheat) and compliment one another very well. It's like "Vintage/Modern". Great customer service from AMS as always. AMS always ships my gear quickly and they always have very fair prices. 5 Stars!!

Great things do come in small packages.Used this amp last night at practice. Its really rocks, has enough clean head room for small gigs, and when you push a pedal through it, it really does the job. Ran several pedals through it and they all sounded great.
Can't say enough about the Cannibas Rex Speaker....its warm and seems to handle just about all types of music. This amp is best suited for Blues and Classic Rock.
I do wish it had an extension speaker jack or line out, but if needed you could Mic the amp.Seems to have plenty of power for moderate playing.
It is everything you need to travel light. Guitar, Amp, Pedal and your in business.
