I was working on a 2007 generation Macbook Pro with no interface. I've been working on the project of my dreams for 7 years while working a full-time job. With many producer and songwriter fees reaching the $1000s, producing, engineering, and songwriting has become a skillset I've learned in order to support my natural singing ability. Fortunately, I am now working on a 2017 Macbook Pro with an updated DAW, and I'm finally ready to record vocals. I was in no way able to afford the Scarlet 2i2 that I ordered outright, but with payment plans I've seen my project go from 'cool' to 'Wow!'.

After doing a lot of research and trail methods, I realized this is perfect for studio quality in the studio or at home for a great price as well.
Fixing up my Daw and trying out new methods or styles of playing became more of a hobby sonce my sound quality became better.
I easy plug in and play tool that helped me record as well as isolate my sound a lot easier to perfect my style of music.
Look around and you’ll see that a lot of people use this for a good reason, and that’s quality.

This is a very good interface for the price! I also have a cloud lifter that I used for my Shure Sm7B! But I am happy that I made the decision to purchase this item! Especially from AMS! The Payment plan makes it affordable for anyone to get to experience expensive equipment!

If your run into the issues of wondering where this popping, crackling sound is coming from and the voices sound like its playing back in fast mode and you have everything set up right, it's this thing! It drove me crazy on multiple occassions, had me thinking it was my cables, then my mics,and recording software. No it was this! I bought it based off reviews and of course budget reasons too, but I should have searched for videos first just as I did when things started not to work right. There are TEMPORARY fixes, however, they are common issues that I wish I would have known before buying and ruining my audio.

Focusrite does things right. I have used other USB breakout boxes but this one really does the trick. The preamps sound amazing and the plug-ins that you get for free from the company really give you a lot of great options for recording. I have already used this for several demo recordings and get complimented on the sound all the time. Special thanks to AMS for pointing me this direction and for recommending the mic that my wife picked up for me later to go with it.

great interface BUT the levels on DI such as basses and hot guitars is a bit of an issue you have to lower the levels so low your stuck compensating in your DAW or monitors. BUT sounds amazing beats the competition in this price range for sure.

The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface is better than I expected. The preamps sound fantastic for both vocal and line inputs. No drivers were needed in getting this set up on my computer.
I was out of the box and recording in about 2 minutes.

I'm a hobbyist guitar player. I don't own a fancy amp, fancy cab, all of my amps and cabs are VSTs that I use in Reaper. As you can imagine, the interface for my guitars and bass has to be rock solid and reliable. I bought this to replace an aging Line 6 interface and man, what a great great choice. If you record yourself or just use it as amp sim interface, I think this thing is great for the price.

The product is perfect for home audio recording. It was easy to set up and came with professional quality software. The line/instrument switch is perfect for taking hot signals or even boosting weak signals. Although it is small it would hold its own in any professional studio.

I’ve had several interfaces in the $100-$300 price range at this point, and until now haven’t been satisfied with the sound quality I’ve ended up with. I use a relatively high quality small diaphragm and large diaphragm mic to record acoustic guitar and until now, I haven’t been satisfied with the final result. The focusrite Scarlett did the trick: I finally have the results I have been searching for. I would recommend this interface above any other in a similar price range; I have finally finished my search for the right interface.

Having owned PreSonus and M-Audio interfaces I have had the feeling there was something better. I was saving up for a Universal Audio Appolo Twin but after hearing the quality of vocal a friend was able to get from his Focusrite 2i2 I decided to give this unit a try. I'm very happy that I did!

Had a Scarlett 2i2 first gen. Very low noise and clean preamps, but crappy latency on my Windows machine. Seemed to get worse as I went from Win7 to 10.
New box is great. Same low noise and even better preamps. Big boost is the latency. ASIO drivers and new firmware made a big difference. Went from near 20ms down to 6.8ms with no glitches. Could likely run even quicker with fewer tracks and less audio processing. A winner!
