Product Rating Product Review Works wonderfully as a power amp to my Synergy Syn-2 preamp. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m sure that it will work nicely as an attenuator for my Peavey JSX. Thanks AMS and Freyette!

Product Review The most transparent attenuator I’ve ever tried. I use it with my Marshall SV20 and I can dial it in to have no tone difference when attenuated. The effects loop is a fantastic feature and sounds great.

Product Review I have used several products like this, including the Boss Tube Amp Expander. There is nothing special about the reactive load, other than that it is top quality. But there are other top quality reactive loads that sound just as good (though none better I must say.) Where this puppy shines is attenuation. The reamping with the tubes just does it. I can crank my amps and, while I don’t get the power (nothing but volume will give you that) I get the tone. It’s amazing. When they say you keep your tone at whisper quiet settings they do not exaggerate. Top quality product.

Product Review Yes this works! I bought a 64 Fender Deluxe Reverb Hand wired Amp. The Power Station allows me to crank the amp to get the tone and break up I want while playing at low volume in my bedroom without bothering everyone else in the house.

Product Review For practice it can't be beat. It retains the tone the best out of any of the options out there.

Product Review Everyone can stop making attenuators now. This is as good as it can get. Absolutely no tonal coloring and allows smooth volume control from dimed out all the way to zero WITH an fx loop. Use whatever amp you want up to 100 watts or down to as low as they make them in any venue and not have to worry about volume or losing your tone because you can't get to the sweet spot.

Product Review This is truly amazing and so transparent. I had a Rivera rock crusher and it totally killed my tone, but this sounds so good at low volumes.

Product Review Absolutely no to tone loss using this thing...the tube power amp sounds fantastic...This unit is pretty much perfect...I use it with a Marshall Silver Jubilee and an EVH 5150III...works great...my amps actually sound better running thru it,than running without it....I take the line out, which has an adjustable level control, and run it into my FX processor, and out to a power amp...works like a charm, and sounds amazing...I can’t recommend this unit enough.....

Product Review The uses for this thing are extraordinary. Can boost my 20 Watt heads to 50 watts, can attenuate my 120 Watt heads down so I can crank them, and also provides an unreal clean power platform for my Synergy Unit, Modelers, and pedal preamps.

Product Review I've tried a large number of attenuators and re-amping solutions over the last couple of decades -- the Marshall, Ultimate, Bad Cat, and Weber units come to mind at the moment, as well as having built some reverse engineered boxes as well -- but by the time the volume gets down where you may need it, you're really not inspired by what you're getting back anymore. Flat tone and dynamics don't cut it. It was to the point where I couldn't plug in and play or try to record if anyone was in the house without dodging thrown shoes, so I basically wasn't playing or recording much at all. So buying this unit was a big commitment of money and hope for a family guy -- there's plenty of other uses for the money but guitar is kind of essential to my well-being so I finally took a leap of faith on this Fryette. And I'm so glad I did!!! Because of how the ears work at different volumes I'm not going to try and claim it sounds "exactly" like the amp cranked in a room -- it's just not possible -- but at last I can get a sound at a reasonable volume that is musical and dynamic, that I can play with my family home and enjoy the sound I'm getting. The little switches at the end for tuning the amp load let me get that fatness and sizzle back nicely, and even with the Fryette's output control set a little above 9:00 on the knob I can achieve a musical sound and practice anytime for a change. The effects loop had me pulling out my old Chandler SDE Echo unit (I bought the rack mount for the PS-2 and a small case for the two units) and enjoying those tones again. I'm hoping to get back to gigging soon, and the PS-2 will be crucial gear. No more aiming my Marshall at the wall to get the tone I want!!

Product Review I have 5 high gain heads and live in a fairly small home. Attenuation is a must. I've tried everything from very affordable ($50) to mid range ($225) to this Fryette PS2. Don't bother with the entry level one. Tone killer with no redeeming qualities at all. The mid range was good, but a set -20db attenuation. Good, but not great for all situations. THIS piece of equipment is perfect. Absolutely transparent at ALL attenuation levels. Plus it has an effects loop. Great addition for my Soldano Hot Rod 50. If you are on the fence, don't wait.Pull the trigger. You will not regret it.

Product Review I've been searching for the perfect attenuator for the last year or so now. I've managed to put together a pretty good collection of tube amps and of course, I'd like to run them hot enough to get to the sweet spot. I started low budget with the Bugera PS1. Very affordable and attenuation from absolute silence to 50% volume. But at the cost of your tone, and you can't quite get it back by tweaking the tone stack on the amp. Next I tried the Two Notes Torpedo Captor. Great features. Very transparent, but only offers a set, -20db attenuation. That's more than you'd think and is very useful most of the time. But not all the time. I wanted a completely transparent and fully adjustable attenuator, without completely breaking the bank. After much research I came across this beauty. The Fryette PS2 power station. This piece of equipment is AMAZING. Built like a tank. Powerful enough to tame even my 120w 6505+, and not only super transparent, they have a multitude of controls to dial in your tone, no matter the level of attenuation. Depth and presence controls. Low and high frequency toggle settings and even a low pass filter! If that was not possibly enough, it has a an effects loop. This will help greatly with my newest acquisition, a Soldano Hot Rod 50 that has a notoriously terrible loop. After 4 hours of pure joy and disbelief this afternoon, I can finally say it. I've found the perfect attenuator. If you're looking for the same solution, pull the trigger on this one. You will not be disappointed.

Product Review Of course this subjective and based on ones preferences and gear of course....but using this with my 57 custom shop champ reissue and Marshall classic 20....AMAZING! First off great build made in USA & Fryette is known for making some of the most premium components around. The fact that the attenuator works on a 5w amp and actually not only attenuated and truly keeps the tone very solid. It also boosts it allowing me to keep that amazing tweed tone and breakup but boost it enough to gig with it! While it may not have built in effects like the ox or new boss unit, it’s half price can adjust/attenuate without being limited to pre determined notches like the rest, use an effects loop successfully and why do I need built in digital effects for...I’m using the attenuator so I can get that amazing tone from my amp without the headache, otherwise I’d just use pedals...and in a day and age with iRig and amplitude I’d rather save myself $600-800 and buy an amazing tool that will always have a place with my instrument regardless what I buy in the future....at $699 NOTHING COMES CLOSE and I really have used the other “best” in the 600-1200 range and FRYETTE IS THE BEST OF EVERYTHING

Product Review I purchased this primarily to use as a power amp with my Helix, and it works great, has a lot of setup and level adjustments, and is small and portable for a 50w tube amp. I can also use this as an attenuator for my large tube amps...great unit!!
