Just had this system installed professionally on a premium telecaster build, and i am NOT happy with it. Same issues i have had with rechargeable batteries and active pickup systems in other guitars- the volume cuts in and out, and the tone and sound get weak suddenly without warning. Does not sound good with overdrive with my Dr Z or egnater amp. Sounds good clean but too punchy and artificial. Good thing i have someone who wants this or id be returning it. DO NOT BUY THIS-im going back to my reliable joe bardens for this tele.

I just received my Fishman Fluence Greg Koch GristleTone Tele Single Coil Pickup Set today and immediately installed it. What do my wondering ears should I hear but incredibly beautiful crisp, clean tones and crunch/distortion with tonal clarity that could sterilize frogs at 50 paces! I could not have requested anything more than that. But wait, there’s more! Need to play a lead? Press the button on the volume/tone/pickup selection control panel and kick it into a second gear. Awesome. I love this thang. Was so very easy to install. Only had 5 solder points and attach the pre-wired cable from the lithium battery that is part of your input jack assembly. Hooked up the included cable (it’s LONG), charged the battery for 2 hours and I can play for weeks! Get yourself one today or ask Santa. Yep, just around the corner.

These are the best sounding pick ups I’ve ever heard, installation was a breeze, and American Musical Supply made the whole process great from start to finish! If you’re on the fence about these, trust me, they’re worth every penny!

The sound is awesome. Very clean clear and no noise. Installation required minor routing for battery and wire to fit in a mim tele. The instructions are clear. Everything is marked for self installation. The only issue was the bridge screws would not go in. We had to retap one side and use a nut and bolt on the other. Other than that highly satisfied.

These Fishman Fluence pickups, the Greg Koch models at least, are in my opinion, a new benchmark in clarity! They add beautiful harmonics to my Fendery clean tones and get the note through the the beautiful mess of driven fuzz. If you read reviews of them sounding too hifi or being too good, rolling your tone knob to the middle as a starting point. This setting is the way to fly with Teles anyways.
My only gripe is the installation instructions besides a simple black and white illustration, there are no instructions. :/

This was a 2nd project in less than 30 days to exchange pickups to one of my guitars and I couldn't be happier to go with the Fishman Fluence Greg Koch signature set. The installation was easy enough for me to do it myself(I'm not a tech) The results are like day & night. The dynamics are incredible and the sound is like I said, much, much better that I expected. AMS makes it easier with a payment plan. If you're looking to improve the sound of your Tele, go ahead and get this set from AMS! You'll be glad you did...
