I wasn't sure what to expect but this definitely exceeded any of my expectations it's nice and tall you should really pick up a foot stand with this one if you don't like placing your foot on the chair but it's amazing especially for beginners to help them get into proper posture and placement for their guitar it accommodates my guild d15 comfortably in the stand position for the guitar it's really great to have it on the stand as a reminder to just sit down and play. It's a must-have for any beginner or advanced player with any sort of guitar you might want to place on it. For me it's a great way to just be able to put the guitar down quickly without having to pack it away knowing that I'm coming back to it it's also phenomenal for playing out works really well for bars and small venues and folds right up and easy to carry.

Just got this today. I do not recommend it. The build quality is very cheap, the seat padding is like sitting on a cinder block, and there's no retainer to hold the guitar neck. The last thing I need is for one of my high end guitars to fall off this thing. This is the first Gator product I have bought that I didn't like. Their guitar cases are awesome, but this contraption is horrible. Guitarists need a comfortable seat for long sets, and a secure stand so the guitar CAN'T fall off of it. This product ain't it.

I am very satisfied with the chair. It is very comfortable and it collapses nicely for transporting. The built in guitar stand is also very nice. There are a couple of caveats: the seat is shallow so you won’t sit as far back as on a normal chair and a foot rest is needed as there is not one built in, due to the built in stand. I have a habit of using the stand as a footrest and I keep bunching up the protective foam. I’ll buy one eventually……
Highly recommend this for those who play on stage solo. It’s darn near perfect.

This stool / seat / guitar stand is a great way to play in comfort and style as well as hold your precious guitars. Good for a performance or just playing comfortably at home. This seat is awesome and comfortable. I recommend this highly for traveling performers or buskers. It’s light weight, easy to transport and it’s solid and sturdy. I always stood at gigs, but now that I am still performing at 70, standing for two or three hours is a lot harder. This is a great compromise. The seat is high enough for sitting and still being visible and able to breathe well. I love that I have a place for my guitar in between sets. The backrest is nice to have, though it does make it more awkward to carry. I've used it for one gig so far and it makes me confident about booking more gigs. As a big guy, I am not afraid of having it collapse; that is another good thing.

I just got it as a 2 for Tuesday deal, sturdy and easy to assemble, it has a soft fabric where the neck of your instrument rests on which is a nice touch, the only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I wish the backrest would move a little further back, I have it as back as it would go and I still feel like I'm sitting at the edge of the seat, it's not a deal breaker for me, but I wish it would move back a little more, other than that is pretty good.

The seat and backrest are good, nice and comfortable. The backrest has two heights, adjustable by removing a bolt which has a wing on it so no wrench is required. However, the other side is supposed to have a nut on the end of the bolt, something for the bolt to screw into. Mine came without that nut but I will find one that size, the bolt isn't going anywhere due to missing nut. I didn't pay attention to the foot rest before purchase, it's a long way away for me (5'6" with short legs). Seems this was built for someone with very long legs.

I love the idea of this stool/guitar stand and it would be perfect if some modifications were made. As it is, it is not comfortable.
While there is a place to put your foot up for playing in the classical position, it is not nearly high enough.
This needs a modification to allow for a foot rest which is high enough, and adjustable enough to achieve the classical guitar posture.

Comfortable seat and adjustable, tilting back. Makes me sit straighter and is much more comfortable than my old chair. Not quite the construction quality I would expect for the price though, and my acoustic (Breedlove Concert size) barely fits into the holder without banging against the legs and bottom of the seat. Also just a little too tall, have to sit different than I am used to but getting used to it. Overall I'm glad I bought it but probably could have found a better seat for the same price or a little more, without the guitar stand.

The height of the guitar chair is fine, but the seat is not deep enough...in other words I cannot sit back far enough on the seat to be comfortable. I really do not want to play a gig in a restaurant and have to keep one foot on the floor. Would not be comfortable. The bar that slips into the slot could be extended some more, but that would affect the balance. Chair does NOT meet my expectations. I would not purchase again.

I purchased a pair during the buy one, get 50% off, comfortable,convenient,folds down OK for traveling,. I added a bungee cord for increased security up at the neck for breaks. Also, I built and use a platform that's high enough to be able to"stomp" both feet with a cajon type"tower" ported to project a bit of my enthusiasm to the listeners, kinda of a Grove Scrivener thing. Only issue I have is one of them is missing the bolts/nut/for the backrest and the knobbed bolt under the seat.? AMS offered the opportunity to send the whole thing back,for exchange, but I need the set,now, and think it's ludicrous the hassle just to get the missing parts!!??
Yeah, I was able to find what was needed at a hardware store, But That Shouldn't be necessary for the customer to have to do! Seem to sturdy enough to last a while, the height may be an issue, the footrest is kind of small/awkwardly located, but that's not an issue with my platform. Would recommend but be aware of the needed upgrades????

I hot my new Gator seat/guitar stand from AMS and Love it. The seat is very comfortable and the back support really makes a difference when gigging for hours. Perhaps for a taller player this stool would work but for 5'10"(32" inseam) this stool is extremely uncomfortable. The back support set at it's most stable position literally sets you at the edge of the seat. The height is too high for you feet to rest comfortably on the floor and stool cross brace not wide enough to rest both feet. I'm toying with sawing off an inch of the legs but they may effect the guitar stand. My leg becomes numb after sitting for prolonged periods. Not recommended!!!

First I'll say the quality of material and sturdiness of this thing is excellent, and it is very easy to put together. Now the bad news. This stool is so uncomfortable, also after ten minutes of sitting on it, my butt hurts really bad trying to get off of it and I look like a 23 year old with the hip issues of a 60 year old. Also I recomend welding a footrest a little higher or playing with a strap. I'm 5'7, about an average height, and the guitar is constantly sliding down my lap and making the angle super awkward to play. This item is a pretty bad.

Sturdy chair and stand. Easily folding in seconds. Foot rest is handy. I would suggest to the manufacturer only two minor changes. First, the extended back support is only one height and is quite stiff and when adjusted too far out it becomes unstable. The second is to add some Velcro to the upper seat where you rest your guitar neck to keep it stable. Great otherwise!

Sturdy construction with good support. Holds all my guitars nicely; electric, acoustic, and flamenco. Folds for storage and transport. You do have to remove the backrest for totally flat storage. It's an attractive chair that looks nice just sitting out and it saves me having a stand and a chair sitting around. I'm very happy with it.

I love this stool for so many reasons. Obviously the first being that it also acts as a stand for my acoustic while I’m on break. It’s also the perfect height! Sometimes as a solo acoustic act you sit on a stool that’s way too low and it causes the boom arm on the mic stand to be at an awkward position. It’s priced fair, but the best thing I love about this stool is that it’s very lightweight and it folds up flat to stack on top of my cart full of gear. I love Gator products and I use their Framework self adjusting speaker stands as well.

A bit narrow width for me but more comfortable than the padded wood stool I was using. Nice to have a back rest and depth of the rest and it's height are a little bit adjustable to tweak the fit. Needed to add a wrap of E-Z Fuse Tape to the foot rest to keep my shoe from slipping off. Worked perfectly. Handy having the built-in guitar stand that folds away... one less piece of gear to pack/unpack. My only negative comment is that I was under the impression that the entire chair folded into a flat package. Not so... the curved 'L' shaped bar and back pad needs to be removed and packed away separately. Heavy, (steel tube construction), but also very solid.

Very well built. Fits me perfectly for playing acoustic guitar and working foot pedals. Love the back rest and extra seat cushioning.The guitar stand is an extra bonus and holds guitar firmly in place. Like it better than my free standing guitar stands.Highly recommend this stand!

except I won't need to because it is very well made. Thick padding, pretty embroidered logo on the back. I bought two because I use two guitars when I'm recording, I leave the back off one of them for easy storage. And yes, they fold up.

This thing is a nice chair, very sturdy guitar
stand and you can also use it as an amp stand.
I've got 3 of them already and am using them for

Very cool, useful Stand/chair. This this is sturdy, simple to put together and very comfortable. Love the soft pad it has that the neck of the guitars can rest on. The guitar stands are wide enough to fit my jumbo body 12 string and not too big for my thinner 6 string along with electric guitars as well. Great investment!

Best I've tried so far. I do a lot of professional Duo work where shows last up to 4+ hours. I have used many different stools in the past and I absolutely like this one the best. I use the backrest so I give it only 4 stars because its heavier and harder to transport but it's very sturdy and more comfortable than all the other stools I have used before. I highly recommend this stool for professional use.

I had read a review that someone my height (5'8") thought it was too tall. For myself though, I was looking for a "performance" seat, and this fits the bill perfectly. I don't have to be on my feet the entire 4 hours, or whatever for the job, and it keeps me in an upright position to make singing easier. I choose not to use the back, so I now have stand and stool in one easy to transport package.

Great seat! It's high enough that you don't feel like a dwarf during a gig. The fold down guitar rest is a great idea. The seat is comfortable. As someone who has had spinal surgery and can't stand for the whole gig, this is the answer.

If you are 5'8" or shorter this is not for you. I am just barely 5'8" tall and found it very uncomfortable/cumbersome to play my guitar on this stand. On a positive note it is built well and could last a lifetime. I plan to send it back.

Rock-solid seat, no wobble or sway (I tend to move around a lot when I play, even while seated). I've sat on it quite comfortably for a 2 1/2 gig. Stand base folds up nicely while playing, and holds the guitar solidly in place when in use.
My only knock would be the backrest; while it's well-padded, it's not very adjustable, and the clamp under the seat dents the metal immediately upon tightening. I've taken to leaving it off altogether.

Got this for long acoustic gigs where sitting on stage is appropriate. Seat is just the right height where I can still reach the pedals on the floor yet sit a bit higher than the drum stool I was using. Seems well built and not wobbly like some seats. The built in guitar stand is a welcomed bonus. Very pleased with it.

Due to bad knees, I need to sit when performing live. I have two wonderfully custom made collapsible Jammers and they are great, expect for when I have to sit for long periods. Then I find that my rear starts to fall asleep! I sit on the wood with no padding. That and I wish the Jammers were a bit taller. Well, this stool has solved that problem! With the extra padded seat and padded back, I can sit through the longest night and I don’t have to worry about any problems. Though this stool it is not as collapsible as my custom jammers, it is a very nice addition to my live rig.

I have recently taken up the guitar again after a much too long absence. I was a great fit for my bedroom practice space. Very functional, small foot print, sturdy, nice addition to room, and very comfortable for me and my Epiphone.
