Have used a TH500, Reidmar 750, and Mesa Subway on various gigs, yet the Magellan 800 has been the BEST sounding out of all. Solid build, and looks great too. When doing sub work for different artists, it's imperative to have a solid base tone to work with, plus the ability to dial in various tones easily. The

Jeff Genzler got this one right. The Magellan 800 is an excellent and worthy Class-D amp. This is my new and permanent workhorse.
I originally came from an Aguilar Tonehammer 500. Found that it's tone was flat, missing something and uninspiring. It basically stole valuable needed tone elements.
LIKES:
1 - The case is solid and imparts a confidence that the amp will withstand the rigors of playing.
2 - The EQ is perfectly tailored for bass and is setup to get the tone one needs.
3 - Front and rear panels are well laid out and was thoughtfully implemented. All functions are useful.
4 - As a Class-D amp, you get the enjoyment of NOT hauling a heavy, transformer-laden amp (Like an SVT).
Dislikes:
1 - There are NONE!
My current rig now has: Genzler Magellan 800, SWR Goliath II 4x10 cab.
Overall, this amp gets an A+++ for Form, Fit & Function.
I would recommend this amp to everyone.

I paired this head up with the Genzler Magellan 2x12 speaker cab and oh my lord, Super deep lows and amazing punch. I didn't have to fiddle with knobs too much. I plugged in, played, turned a few knobs and found my sound very quickly. Super easy to operate, amazing tone, easy layout. You won't be disappointed in this purchase!! A+
