I have using these strings for years. They last a long time with no corrosion and ,when properly stretched, they stay in tune easily. They have been on my EC strat series one since the first day I got, and have never had any other brand strings on it.

I like the strings. I've been buying them for years. However, as of October 15, 2018 the description on AMS is incorrect. Custom Light gauge is 9-46 not 9-49.

Your general opinion of this product.
I love GHS Boomers. Since I started using GBM Medium Boomers on my LP Junior in 2011, there's no other string for me.
These strings have a beautiful, edgy bite right out of the package, and I've yet to have any of my GBMs lose that tone.
The feel of GHS Boomers in general is excellent. They're much smoother than other round-wound strings I've played, have just the right amount of slack when tuned to standard, D-standard, or drop-C, and don't take forever to stretch into place.
The tone of my GBMs is heavy and bright all at once. I can only describe it as sounding like a wolverine with the voice of Luciano Pavarotti.
The action is perfect. Even in F#-standard (which I sometimes use to play along with alto and soprano vocalists), they're comfortable and durable.
I'm not a fastidious string cleaner like some, so my common practice is to run a dry rag over my strings when they start looking dusty, and they're just as bright and shiny now as the day I put them on.
Here's where the GBMs really shine. I started using them in the summer of 2011, two years prior to this review, and with an average of three hours of aggressive daily playing, I've never had a set lose its tone on me, and I currently have my third set on my guitar, only changing them when I break one. Averaged out, so far, these strings have had a playing life of 1,642 hours and 30 minutes per set with no tone issues. Try them out; they won't disappoint.

some of the best strings I've used. I used to be a strictly Ernie Ball Slinkys kind of guy untill i tried these.
depends how often you play, I tend to need to change strings every 2-3 weeks, these last much longer than that for me... your mileage may vary. :)
Your general opinion of this product.
Not much to say, they are long lasting, great sounding strings.
smooth, to me they almost feel like coated strings

Most dependable strings I've ever used. Great tone, great feel.
Buy individual sets!
No other string I've tried lasts longer than GHS at a great price.
Buy individual sets!
Your general opinion of this product.
Overall, great strings! However, If they're going to make a package of 3 sets, package them as 3 individual sets, or at least by individual strings... NOT 3 strings in one envelope.
D'Addario has the best packaging, but not the greatest strings. I hope GHS follows in the packaging department.
Buy individual sets!

I've used these strings for atleast 5 or more years now. I love the way they sound and feel.Their not expensive either, and you get your money's worth.
These strings can take a beating,I usually get 2 hours everyday to play after work. Only broke a string after about a month of playing on the same set.
Your general opinion of this product.
I don't use any other brand for electric.
I like 9s and 10s. I keep one guitar with 9s and the other with 10s. I tried the TNT series but didn't really care that much for them.

anytime I have bought GHS strings I have always got my moneys worth.
I tried almost every kind of strings there is and every time I always come back to GHS they feel great and sound fresh for a good while. I have floyds on all of my guitars and I love the harmonics these strings provide and Ive yet to pop a string with this brand.
Your general opinion of this product.
GHS rules! they make alot of different size strings for different style players.
I really like the TNT series of strings their thick and give a chunky tone but play like 9s.
my guitar has seymoure duncan blackouts pickups and I love the tone from these strings!
I play every day maybe 5 or 6 hours a day and weekends all day and it takes a long time to ware these strings out!
They are always arranged nicly in the packs but I only buy them in individual packs I tried the whole bulk pack and it sucks.

BEWARE! It's not really a 3 pack. it's a stupidly packaged 18-pack.

I am a guitar teacher and every Christmas I give my students little things like strings, picks, guitar care stuff. I bought a LOT of these three packs thinking there were three actual sets of guitar strings.. you know, three individual PACKAGES. NOPE! inside the paperboard carton are six envelopes.. each containing 3 strings.
Who in the heck even uses strings in this manner? you can't just pull out one string.. you have to pull them all out, and wind up the other two and try to put them back in the envelope. THis is a STUPID way to package strings, and useless to anybody..Unless you are stringing THREE GUITARS AT THE SAME TIME!!!
I can't hand these sets out to my students like this. and American Musical won't take them back, as is their policy on strings... What the hell? Don't buy this 3 pack.. get 3 individual sets instead.
i gave it a 1 for overall.. because of the stupid and misleading way it was presented on the website.. and on the package itself.. 3-pack?? nope.. try 18pack.. 18 individual strings contained in 6 envelopes. stupid.

i have used ghs for years.. but this packaging is a joke..

Your general opinion of this product.
I have used GHS strings for decades. GHS is a reliable, established company that stands behind its products completely, and its products are superior guitar strings at amongst the lowest prices to be had. Few if any companies can beat that combination. In many -- maybe too many -- years of playing, I naturally have tried any number of other brand strings, yet none even have tempted me to switch from GHS. They always feel and play well, they last long, they maintain their tone and their shelf life is literally years. I could not ask for better guitar strings, especially at such a low cost, and I could not ask more of this guitar string industry leader.

I have been using boomers for years.
They hold up very well against breakage and keep their tone
Your general opinion of this product.
I Like them
The one Irony is that these babys are bright, not what I would call boomy at all. Good match for that shimmery start sound or to ad some jangle to humbuckers

GHS Boomers- hi frequency value (5Khz to be exact)

Your general opinion of this product.
QUALITY:
For such inexpensive strings they hold up well.I've used them for years, though I've strayed a few times only to come back..
FEATURES:
The bright "slinky" tone when first installed is matchless, although I've had DiMarzio's that lasted almost a year with no noticeable loss of tone. But they stopped making them(boo-hoo),so I'm back to old faithful.I forgot how bright they sound when new
EASE OF USE:
Boomers sound great on my 1981 Dean Hollywood Z.
I use them for power chords, hard bends and mixolydian modes.Diminished, harmonic minor and pentatonic/diatonic scales sound good too.Been playing with a new effects processor(Boss GT-6)and the difference in strings is really noticeable on that baby.
VALUE:
You just can't beat the value for the sound even if they lose their tone a bit early.I have an acidic perspiration that corrodes these boomers quicker than some higher dollar strings, but, again, for the price they are u

Your general opinion of this product.
QUALITY:
Guitar strings don't last forever, but they seem to be good quality, don't have a tendency to break abnormally or anything.
VALUE:
Priced fairly cheap for such a good sounding string.
SOUND:
Some of the best sounding strings out there I think. Better than any Dean Markleys or Ernie Balls I've played.
STYLE:
Rock/Metal
MUSIC EXPERIENCE:
Wish I could say pro, but just a weekend warrior in a rock band
OVERALL:
Great strings for a good price. No secret coatings or nitrogen dips or any of the other bells and whistles. They last nearly as long as any uncoated string, cryogenic or not. I would suggest trying them.

Your general opinion of this product.
Overall, they are very good! Can't go wrong here.. they last long too and keep their tone.. they have a very silky feel to them when you first install them.. Good Tone!
comments on Quality: Excellent!
comments on Features:No Features.. they are just strings..
comments on Ease of Use: You need an IQ above 12 to install and use strings.. if your IQ is 11, please ask your local psychiatric professional for assistantce. Banging your head against the wall will only damage your crash helmet.
comments on Value: Good value for cost. Buy a bunch of sets to offset the shipping cost.
comments on Sound: ok.. this is where I want to say something. I tried a million brands of string before I tried GHS Boomers. I always use light 09 strings because I'm kinda wimpy in the finger department.. I was put off by the dumb dynamite exploding on the front of the package, but these strings are really great.. Good for everything.. I use them for everything from a rough Green Day punk tone
