Product Rating Product Review The bass is amazing! Great tone and fun to play. Shipping took weeks longer than suppose to and first customer rep I spoke with inquiry about the item lost in shipping; basically told me that it wasn’t their problem and offered no help. After waiting two weeks I called another rep and they were able to offer assistance

Product Review Bass player on and off since the late 80s- this is a great instrument, super comfortable to play, good variety of tones with the coil tap, and a nice satin nitro finish which is not at all sticky compared to high gloss. I’ve been playing it in a power trio with a pick and finger style and a bunch of effects, and it really fills out the sound- Highly recommended!

Product Review I’ll start out by saying I play out quite a bit. I’ve been a Stingray guy for the past 10 or so years. Recently however, I discovered how much I enjoy playing short scale. I got a hold of a short scale bass to mess around with and as kind of a modding platform. I realized that I really loved playing it. So when I decided to buy one I came across this one. I watched some YouTube videos, read some reviews… They seemed mostly favorable. With the price tag, and it being a USA Gibson, I figured if I didn’t like it I could just sell it and make what I got it for pretty easily. Man, was I surprised. I love how it plays. I love how it sounds. The only thing I didn’t love about it was the bridge, but I bought a Hipshot replacement, and now she sings. It’s now my main instrument. A set neck, USA made, tight sounding and playing bass for under a grand? You seriously can’t go wrong.

Product Review Was surprised how powerful the humbucker was, even when coil split this bass puts out a lot of power. Volume knob is really responsive as is the tone (it gets beefy, but not too muddy) Heck feels great, really nice profile compared to my old Mustang bass that felt like a baseball bat. Lightweight overall, which is good, and the light weight tuners really help with neck dive. Troy it, you might like it!

A great "little" bass to add to my collection

Product Review As I get older, I find it harder to play bass on a standard 34" scale, hence my quest to find a short-scale bass. It takes a little adjustment to playing a shorter scale, but it's definitely easier (on my hands) to play. In general I'm an aggressive player, but noticed that I need to play a little lighter on the short scale as the strings are looser. I love the looks of this bass and after I make a few set-up mods, this will probably be my gigging bass, but it isn't gig ready just off-the-shelf :-( Pros: - Excellent Finish and look - Light weight (significantly lighter than I expected) - Simple Controls (volume + tone and split-coil option) Cons: - Needs some basic frets work (fret ends are rough and when sliding a note up the fret board, it doesn't sound smooth) - Since the body is smaller I find the strap digging into my neck - Noisy (hum) when running the split-coil option (as expected) - Action is a little high - Floating pick-up (I tend to rest my thumb on the pick-up) Despite the cons of this bass, I really like it. A simple set-up and mod to the pick-up will make this my go to bass.

Product Review Been playing bass for 25 years. This little Gibson is a nice little thunder maker. It's good to see they are getting back on track. I own alot of shorties. And this guy is moving up the pack to being my #1. That signature Gibson Woody growl. Nice fit and finish. And easy on the hands, eyes and wallet. Thanks Gibson. AMS was fast and easy to work with. Thank you!

Product Review The gibson factory didn't do a very good job on the fret ends, very sharp. Going to a guitar tech to get fret ends filed. Every thing else was good. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE GIBSON FACTORY, GIBSON NEEDS TO TAKE MORE PRIDE IN THERE PRODUCTS

Product Review I received a brand new basS and it was over 8.5 pounds instead of 7-7.5 like I was told. The neck feels like a baseball bat like the old Warwick’s from the 80s. One of the tuning pegs was also crooked straight from the Gibson factory. On top of all this the truss rod cover was actually slanted at the top I guess to accommodate the writing on the front of the headstock that says Les Paul tribute bass. Totally horrific quality control from Gibson for $1000 bass. Awful

Product Review I love everything about feel and tone of this bass. I recommend it but if you play with your thumb on the pick up as I do , it isn't sturdy enough and needs to be altered.

Product Review One night I was showing a friend of mine some double cutaway models by Gibson when I stumbled across an image of this bass. Then did a little research to find it’s a modernized version of a bass they manufactured in the early 60s. Almost sixty years later this was born, with a little more mojo and different characteristics. A short scale double cutaway bass featuring the 32” scale. Outfitted with Hipshot ultralite tuners & the classic Gibson mounted bridge system. One pickup, humbucker style with a push-pull option. One piece mahogany body and neck with the timeless Gibson headstock unlike its predecessor. I love this bass. I saw the pictures and had to get one. To me, it’s almost a miniature Ripper in a way, which is great for me because I’m not a big person. I’ve used this during rehearsals as well as studio sessions. The tone is very unique, the short scale giving it a well balanced low-end. In a nutshell, I’ll say Gibson has done very well with this years line up. They’ve kept it simple aesthetically, and went in on the parts that matter tonally. Check it out! You won’t be disappointed!

Product Review My only issue is no hard case! I really think it's my new favorite bass! It has old school looks and a nasty little growl! Push pull pot really brings out the mids and highs. Gibson hit a homerun with this!

Product Review After a bit of a rough patch (decade!), Gibson is back, and the latest crop of 2019 instruments is fantastic! I just received my Les Paul Jr DC bass, and I am over the moon! The action, fit, and finish are all top notch, the playability right out of the box was perfect, and it sounds fantastic! This is my first short-scale bass, and my only bass with roundwounds, and I’m absolutely in love with the way this beauty looks, plays and sounds. It is definitely a keeper. Oh, and the push/pull feature for splitting the coil of the pickup is amazing. It literally sounds like two different basses when engaged. This thing rocks! Well done, Gibson.
