I Took advantage of the sale on this guitar, the first guitar that was shipped to me showed up with a cracked nut on both sides of the neck. AMS replaced it fast like overnight fast and the second one showed up and was flawless. The guitar needed a small setup and few adjustments to be on par. After that this guitar is amazing, plays great , sounds great !!!! 100% happy with Gibson and AMS….

60’s neck on these are amazing. It’s not overly heavy to kill shoulder or back either. 61 pickups can pretty much handle and genre you throw it especially with the push pull knobs. It’s a great modding platform too.

I have several Les Pauls, each serves a specific role but this Classic is like have several guitars in one. With all the tone options, you only need this one guitar in the studio. Changing tones is as easy as a push/pull on a volume/tone pot. And I love the classic neck, perfect for someone with small hands like myself. And you have a choice of 4 different color options. I chose Honeyburst. And at such an affordable price, can't beat the value per dollar! AMS also has no credit check financing. I have been able to buy several of my dream guitars that I wouldn't have been able to afford otherwise! And their customer service is always available to help with anything you might need. I love AMS AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!

Great Instrument..one of the knobs is crushed and there's a little overspray at the neck heel joint but other than that very high quality and sounds incredible.This is my first LP in 35 years.Been playing over 50. Killer black hardshell case, the burstbuckers are hot and wicked. Electronics give you many sonic possibilities..very happy and satisfied with the entire purchase. PLEASE SEND ME A NEW TONE KNOB...longtime customer.

I’ve played various Les Paul Standards from Gibson since 2020, but this one takes the cake. Neck profile, coil splitting, the Grover tuners, and the awesome color choices. Online pictures do not do the Translucent Cherry justice! Plus, AMS gives you the ability to put it on a payment plan so you’re not going broke and able to play the guitar you want. Can’t say enough good things about these Classic models and the quality of customer service from AMS.

This guitar sounds great. The push/pull knobs offer a variety of tones. I'm still playing with them. Also, I wasn't sure how effective the nine hole weight relief would be, but it works. This guitar is much lighter and more comfortable to wear than my Les Paul Traditional.

Quite simply one of the best if not the best Les Paul I’ve ever bought with a perfect set up right out of the box. It plays even better than it looks and I am hooked on this guitar to the point I’m gonna buy another one in the bourbon color one. If you’re smart, you’re buy this guitar before I get a chance to buy the rest of them!
Now the price was outstanding, and it comes with a beautiful Gibson hard shell case.
Lastly, the shipping was a day before it was promised, now that’s what I call service!
AMS hit a home run on every thing you could with this purchase

I’m not sure I know anyone who would be less than thrilled to play in a Gibson and this guitar lives up to its name. The feel of it is fast and the weigh relief seems to be just the right amount and well balanced. I love the 4 push-pull knobs. They really give you a lot of versatility overall. Can’t go wrong with a Les Paul.

After having this guitar for a few weeks I have come to the conclusion that ever guitar I’ve owned in the 30 or so years I’ve played….has sucked! Not really, but kind of.
This really is an amazing and inspiring instrument. It sounds like a Les Paul should, yet its coil tapping makes it very versatile. Don’t expect a strat or Tele sound but it is a good chimey sound. I kind of feel dirty using a single coil on an LP…. But I like feeling dirty.
Fit and finish is FLAWLESS! Maybe Gibsons qc has stepped up. You won’t regret it… get you one!

My first Gib USA - very pleased with quality, fit and finish. Frets are tidy and smooth. Finish is flawless, pups are quietly gritty. Setup was great, intonation on point. I am a serial modder, but honestly can think of needed upgrades, apart from some aged nickel covers for the zebras. Dark gray case is very cool. Here’s to many more Gib USAs, and fate willing, perhaps a CS or ML! Cheers!

Love this guitar! Plays beautiful, intonation is spot on, fit and finish is beautiful! I’m enjoying the little lighter weight Paul. I really like the push / pull pots seems tones are endless between them and volume n tone controls, very ?? nice. (More modern).. the open humbuckers (zebra) are a nice look and respond a bit better. I put a lot of time and thought before I bought this Les Paul, and I am glad I did. The burstbucker 61's are a great sounding pickup, and the coil taps work awesome. I really like the bypass also. Not noticing the 9 hole weight relief tho, as this bad boy weighs in at just over 11 pounds. It is a great playing, great sounding guitar, just wished they made these in a Gold Top.

I have literally waited fifty years for this guitar. In 1972 I had been playing for a few years and saw a picture of Duane Allman with a Cherry Sunburst Gibson Les Paul. I knew then that I would someday own one just like it. Over the years, every time I got close to buying one, something would get in the way-car needed repairs, etc. Finally, a few weeks ago, I saw that American Musical Supply had just the guitar I wanted, in stock and ready to go. I decided that I had waited long enough! I was approved for their payment program, and within days I was playing my dream guitar. A Gibson Les Paul Classic in Heritage Cherry Sunburst. It is absolutely beautiful! Fit, finish and sound are all amazing! I have a long history of buying gear from AMS but have never bought a guitar online before. I did this time because I have such trust in this company, and my trust was definitely not misplaced. This guitar plays and sounds incredible. Dreams do come true. I waited for this guitar for fifty years, and God, it was worth the wait. And I owe it all to American Musical Supply. They had the exact model that I wanted, I received it within days, and their payment plan made it affordable. Would I recommend AMS to my friends? Without question! I bought this guitar for my Dad’s Birthday gift. He is very pleased with the quality of the guitar, and loves the tone. I bought a blemished guitar and was very pleased to see only a broken volume knob,Nothing else, saved $360! If your looking at this guitar buy it, it is worth it. It is a little heavy but most Les Pauls are. The guitar does play like a dream and the finish is awesome! I love this guitar and so does my Dad, he is very happy with it! Thanks AMS! I was torn between this and a 60s standard. I'm not really crazy about flamed tops. I wanted modern electronics. So I chose the classic. The neck is awesome not overly thick and plays nice. 61 pickups with options of splitting them are really good as well to. Fit and finish is pretty close to perfect as well. Comes in a really nice modern hardshell case too. Great job Gibson.

First , when opening the case I was surprised at the wood in the top, it actually shows some grain pattern thru the finish, not a bad thing. Plays well, sounds great when ran thru my Marshall, typical Gibson quality,fit and finish are very good,and at price point that makes it a real bargain if your in the market for a Gibson Les Paul

I bought this guitar as a minor blemish product, so I got a pretty nice discount on the price. There are only a couple of issues that I can find, and they are extremely minor, so I feel like I got a really great deal on a super looking, super sounding, and super playing guitar.

I am VERY impressed. I've owned more than a dozen Les Paul's over the years. (I have 3 now) THIS ONE WAS "PERFECT" RIGHT OUT OF THE CASE. It was even in tune. I have the Trans Cherry finish and it is perfect. No flaws scratches etc.I personally love the slim taper neck and have it on all my Gibson's. The 4 function Vol/Tone knobs gives you every pick-up combo so need for mods. Great tone clean or dirty and great sustain. For the money this is THE BEST Les Paul investment.

This is my first Gibson, and I'm floored by the sound quality of the alcino v pickups used- they isolate each string far better than any guitar I've heard so far (my last guitar being an epiphone les paul standard pro,) and this translates into not only a powerful, loud sounding guitar, but also a very less muddied sound.
The coil splitting is a great feature, as well as the phase, giving it far more tone possibilities than a normal les paul would have, and the bypass is even more fun, just pulling a pot switch, and I go from any limited sound to full tone for say a good solo, and push the pot back down, and we're back to our clearer sound.
I've been having loads of fun with this guitar all weekend long, what with even the neck playing incredibly smoothly; no jagged fret edges and plenty of space between the higher register frets, and the sustain is incredible.

Had to sell my '01 Les Paul a while back out of life necessity. Rough times. Coming back into this style I got the Epiphone Les Paul version of a classic, which was great, but still not that Gibson I was missing. This by far was the best of both worlds. The tones and sustain on this thing are unbelievable and having the option to single coil it with a knob pull is well worth either the leap over from the Standard, a compliment to it, or a great starting point if you're waffling. Just go for it! Finish is beautiful as well.

I have yet to go through all the features but seems there are many different tone available.. Came in perfect defect free condition. Usually a Gibson come with an insert over the fretboard which is missing from this Guitar. Maybe just left out when AMS Took images.
But Customer service is Fantastic with American Musical Supply. I have bought a number of Guitars from them and I never had any issues. This is the First Gibson Product that came with the best perfect set up. I highly recommend this Les Paul and Highly recommend American Musical Supply.

This baby sounds and plays as awesome, as it looks! The slim taper neck makes it effortless to crank out some riffs. The zebra pickups are as hot as they look. They provide a nice clean tone and, a raunchy rocking sound with a flip of the switch.The vintage brown hard shell case it comes with, is just as nice too!the inside liner has a generous red felt liner. This is really great guitar. I've barely played my other guitars since I got it. One weird thing is when J first opened the case there was a white film of polish all over the guitar. Like they didn't rub it in. I don't know,is that normal? Other than that though everything is wonderful with this guitar. I have been playing for over 30 years. Gibson has always been my dream. I couldn't be more thrilled. The pickups with the push/ pull has given me more tonality options then I knew I would have. This Les Paul use me a very versatile differences and sound for any type a genre. One of the reasons that I purchased this guitar was to keep from changing guitars from a fender Strat to a Gibson Les Paul. Neck feels great on this Classic. Gibson calls it slim taper and I was worried it was going to be too thin but it’s not. A bit chunkier than my strat.
Not a fan of the 61 pickups as I find them almost impossible to clean up. That could be due to the V magnet or due to being uncovered, I don’t know but I have a set of 57 Classics on the way and I hope that will remedy the situation.
I’m not a fan of the pull pot split coil thing either so I have a 50s wiring harness on the way.

I purchased a Les Paul Classic from AMS and love it. The honey burst finish is flawless and really sets it apart from other "wood colored" guitars. The Classic model has push pull knobs for split coils and out of phase sounds and it just really sounds amazing. AMS shipped it immediately and it arrived ready to play right out of the box. Truly a classic Gibson!

I had moderate expectations and even higher hopes. This guitar exceeded both. Well worth the price in ways that are hard to describe. The build quality, feel and sound are excellent, the pickups are fantastic. I have a hard time putting it down whether I’m playing or not. Coming from almost exclusively playing Strats, this LP is different enough to inspire new ideas and familiar enough to bring them to life. If you are considering this, just buy it.

This Blonde Beauty came tuned right out of the box and shipping was very fast and the case was better than expected. I've been playing this guitar for over a week and I like it a lot better than my Fender Strat I've had since the 80's. The frets r low and I love that. Plays just like my Gibson Les Paul I had in the 70's. And it has that Gibson Sound and you can't go wrong with this guitar.

This is my dream guitar. Now I finally have one, it’s the classic model heritage cherry sunburst, beautiful amazing classic iconic guitar from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and even still today!! There’s nothing that looks sounds or preforms like a true Gibson Les Paul, it’s a staple in rock and roll music. Highly recommend, best guitar I’ve ever owned!!!

I bought the Les Paul Classic Honeyburst on a recommendation from a friend. I own around 35 guitars, 4 Les Pauls(a Standard and 3 Customs) and dollar for dollar this is the best money I’ve spent. The construction is second to none, finish and top have an almost 3D look, and the overall appearance of the guitar is amazing. Electronics wise- the pickups sound fantastic. Very responsive to small variations in the control knobs. The tone from the 61 BurstBuckers is, to my ears, not discernible from a true PAF- maybe a little brighter. I’ve played the guitar through a Twin, my old Champ 600, and a Classic 30- and it shines regardless. I’m particularly pleased with the clarity on low volume knob settings, as it leaves plenty of headroom for leads. I don’t really use the coil taps, but they sound good. I could live without the phase inversion, but the tone bypass will be an extremely valuable tool in live performance. I spent about an hour on setup- the action was too low for my taste and the pickups were out of balance- but haven’t made any adjustments since. If you’re looking for a great vintage guitar and don’t have $30-$50k to blow- this is your piece. Would recommend to anyone.

Let me start by thanking COVID for getting me back into playing the guitar, I had taken 30 years off to do non-musical things (family, career, etc...) and hadn’t even owned a guitar for 20 years. Stuck at home I bought a Tele on amazon made in Indonesia. It’s actually killer, so much better than the strat I owed in the eighties... it was a first for me, buying a guitar I’d never touched, but it worked out great. I then bought a used Gretsch 5422TG, also never touched by me and it came in great too. So I’m in complete love with my guitars and I am looking for an amp and really like the Fender GT200, but no one has it except AMS. This was my first, but definitely not my last purchase. To make things better, I paid the same price as anywhere else, but because it was shipped to me from out of state, no sales tax. A savings of $31 on an item that retails at $450. I received it in two days as well, no one else had them!!! So that leads me to this Wednesday. I have been pondering a big purchase, the main guitar in my new stable. I researched the new strat and bought my first ever Gibson Les Paul Classic. Today is Friday and I’ve been playing it for 4 hours now. I bought the honeyburst and it’s so pretty, and absolutely perfect. Set up perfect right out of the box, attention to detail is what makes this an extraordinary guitar. Modern features and playability are right for a wide range of skilled players. So they killed it by again having stock and shipping fast. I saved $140 in tax verses anyone in state. Since so much of the pricing is dictated by the big manufacturers, saving any way you can may take a leap of faith. I’m 3 for 3 and a big fan of the team at AMS.

My new Les Paul Classic is beyond what I expected. Every day I appreciate it more. It arrived in perfect shape, well protected, intonation is perfect, not a molecule out of place. Not a surprise because this was my second high end guitar from American Musical Supply. The serial numbers and “birthdate” showed it was built within two months. Not something that had been sitting around since who knows when. American Musical Supply has been a real blessing.

First things first- shipping and delivery. AMS was lightning fast. I ordered this guitar at 3pm on Wednesday, and it was on my porches Ohio by noon the next day. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the packaging. It was in its single ply Gibson box, with two small pieces of bubble wrap and one small wad of paper. Thankfully FedEx was in a gentle mood, case and guitar both arrived undamaged. As for the case, very nice! It inspires a lot more confidence than the one that came with my 2013 Signature T Les Paul. It’s not a G&G, but it’s much sturdier than the last Gibson case I got. As for the guitar... holy smokes... My first Les Paul was a 1975 Deluxe I bought used in the 80’s. I’ve since had specials, standards, studios, and the Signature T. Probably a dozen in all. This is the best of the bunch. Build is flawless. All the geometry and assembly is perfect. It feels crazy solid and stable without being clunky or feeling like a bag of bricks. Some reviews show these pushing 10 lbs, so I was a it dubious... mine comes in at 8 lbs and 10 oz on the nose. Which is very acceptable for a Les Paul. The fretwork and nut work is superb. There are exactly three mass production guitar companies today that have acceptably level frets from the factory. They are the US PRS factory, wherever they make D’Angelicos, and Gibson USA. Nobody else can seem to get their frets level. These are perfection. I like my action skinny and low, and this came out of the box lower than even I like it, with zero buzzing or choking out. The nut fits perfectly, has no sharp corners or edges, and does not bind or pinch. Tuning stability is excellent. Fretboard was a little dry and rough feeling. Fret crowns had a slight patina from sitting in the warehouse. A little oil and a quick buffing and both are wonderful. The cherry red color seriously pops. Pics on the website don’t do it justice. Jury is still out on these 61 Burstbuckers. They’re good pickups, but maybe not for me. Time will tell. I’m gonna give them a fair chance. That’s no reflection on the guitar, however. It’s a beautiful instrument, and although it’s early in our relationship, I’m confident in saying it’s the best Lester I’ve ever had.

Finally the guitar of my dreams, a actual Gibson Les Paul!! Have had epiphones, Ibanez, and a Prestige all of which were Les Paul style guitars. Not that any of them were bad guitars but my new Honeyburst Gibson Les Paul reigns superior!! The sound, the playability, the finish, and plus a hardshell case as well top off this Classic iconic guitar!! It also has push/pull for single coil sound which makes it very versatile for many styles of music. Right out of the case mine came setup beautifully. There isn't a thing that I don't like about the guitar and my only regret is why didn't I buy one sooner. I have been a guitar player for over 30 years and have several guitars in my collection but none compare to this one!! I would highly recommend that if you are considering buying a Les Paul get a Gibson as you will not regret your decision!!!

What can I say? I had been eyeing the honeyburst classic for a while and finally decided to order one. The pictures don't do it justice. Such a nice looking guitar when I opened the case. I have always heard the saying that you should never buy a guitar sight unseen, especially without trying it out first to see how it plays and feels. Well, unfortunately for me, a trip to any guitar store that even has a Gibson on the wall is a whole day's trip and not really the most convenient option. I have ordered several Gibsons online in the past few years and I have had zero problems. The classic that I ordered from AMS arrived well packed. Setup was perfect to my liking straight out of the box. I really can't think of anything i'd want to change about it. Play and feel is spot on. Action is just where I like it. I have thoroughly inspected the guitar several times over and honestly cannot find a single flaw anywhere. I have an ebony 2003 Standard that I bought new and absolutely love but I had always wanted a plain top Les Paul. For the price of the classic, I couldn't bring my self to pay an extra $400-$500 for another standard. I honestly do not know that there is a real difference between the classic and standard other than electronics and fancier grain tops. Don't get me wrong. I love Les Paul Standards but in this case the honeyburst classic just stood out. This is one of the nicest guitars that I have owned and it's definitely a keeper. Ordered from AMS and received it on time. The guitar was packaged perfect, set up perfect, and ready to play. This was my first time ever orfering a guitar by mail. I was worried about possible damages but very relieved it wasn't. This is my first Les Paul and after having it a couple weeks is my favorite guitar. It stays in tune, has amazing tone, and is fast. My only complaint is that its not the most comfortable guitar to play while sitting down. My other guitars are the traditional stratocaster body styes and are easier to hold while sitting down. This is also my first guirar without a Floyd Rose tremlo so i was concerned about it staying in tune while playing aggressive. No need to worry about that. I highly reccommend this guitar, you wont be disappointed.

There is just something awesome about a plain top Les Paul..ordered this Classic in a Honeyburst finish because I love the look of an old faded sunburst and this really has that vibe..first time playing a 60s shaped neck..my other Paul’s are 50s shaped..this neck is amazing it feels very fast and fits nice in the hand..I have noticed that my fret hand does not citified as fasr during long playing sessions..the pickups and switching configuration fits everything I want to play..it changes from humbucker with a pull of the volume knobs..a pull on the top tone knob flips the phase..and the one final switch trick is something I really didn’t get at first..the bottom tone knob changes everything to humbuckers at full volume when pulled..now that I’ve had this for a couple months is my be my favorite feature..as usual AMS made the purchase go great and I was lucky enough to get it when they were doing a special 18 mo payment plan..I’ve been using AMS for almost 20 years and have never had a bad experience

Got the guitar 36 hours after placing my order, crazy fast shipping. If I had to nit pic it would be that the tape around the pickups is messy and the rear control cavities could have been finished nicer. You can see a tiny bit that is unfinished around the top edge. Other than that there is not a single thing to complain about. It sounds and feels incredible! The binding and finish is perfect. The ABR 1 is not technically an ABR 1 bridge as it has a large post for the thumb wheel screw to fit into which I actually prefer anyway. It came set up pretty well although the neck did need some slight adjusting to give it a little relief and get rid of a small amount of buzz but intonation was spot on. I'm really not trying to complain at all, I'm completely happy with my purchase. The slim taper 60's neck feels great and fretwork was perfect. Not sure if it was PLEK'D but either way no issues there. Would definitely recommend this guitar to any Gibson fan. It's right up there with any Standard I have ever played and blows the Studio model away! I am partial to Customs but for half the price this is easily my second favorite Gibson model period.

I honestly didn’t believe it when I read reviews that this guitar (or any guitar for that fact) played great right out of the box, but the intonation and action was dead on. It sounds better than I expected. Every knob is push/pull and does something different and even more expensive models can’t do what this guitar can. The case is nice a durable too. It’s a Gibson Les Paul so that should speak for itself.

This guitar exceeded my expectations. I knew it was a quality product, and because of the flexibility in payment plans, a dream for a newly divorced, mother of two finally came true. This guitar arrived and it was pristine. It was carefully packaged and was more than I had hoped for. Upon playing it- it has been amazing. It has the traditional Les Paul sound, but with the modern weight relief. The hard case is sturdy and comes loaded with goodies like a strap and Gibson multi tool. I told my wife getting a Gibson les Paul is like getting your dream car. For most it doesn’t happen. My wife surprised me this Christmas with a beautiful les Paul. I was in absolutely shock. I cried like a baby. This guitar is by far the best sounding guitar on earth. No matter what kind of amp you have plugged into it, it sounds damn near flawless. I will forever cherish this baby!

Ease of play is as good as higher priced guitars.
Finish on this is as good or better than what I expected.
I have played other Les Paul's and I think this one plays and feels better than most, It may be the classic neck that makes the difference.
I own 38 guitars at this time and this Les Paul Classic is one of my favorite to play.
I just wish Gibson world lower their prices so many others could afford to play a quality guitar some day!

Of the Gibson LPs I've owned (Studio, Standard, Classic) in my opinion the Classic is the best. I went with the Ebony finish. Beautiful guitar. Set up was excellent right out of the box. Love the pickups on this one. The coil tap and bypass will give a wide range of tones. This guitar will play anything you want it to and sound amazing. Great value here and you won't be disappointed.

I bought this Guitar for my Husband for Christmas. I couldn’t surprise him since he had to wait for the parcel. It didn’t ship on time and when it was received he was so disappointed to se a soft case he was sure it was the wrong guitar.
So not a great start but once he took a good look at it he was so happy .
This his third Gibson so that is saying a lot .
His favorite thing is the finish and the neck . Also American Music Supply was so supportive about getting us the correct case . They gave us the Gibson Support number and we will be receiving the correct case . I definitely recommend buying from them as they stand by their products and their customer service is great .

I’ve bought probably 20 Gibsons since 2015 and they’ve all been really bad craftsmanship, but I had heard that Gibson had new management and the quality went up so I took a chance and bought this guitar and I’m so glad that I did it stays in tune perfectly it sounds great. I honestly can’t believe what a great guitar this is and I’m so glad that AMS made it possible for me to have this guitar thank you guys!

Sure the vintage reproductions and originals are icons, but this is the brand. They just keep getting better and better. There's a certain something about a Les Paul that can't be compromised. They have the magic, and always will.

This is my 3rd new Gibson in the last 3 years and each has been better than the last. The Les Paul Classic sounds great and plays great. I'll probably have to tweak the truss rod slightly, but I'm in Arizona so that's pretty much expected once a new guitar settles in here, but it's pretty darn good out of the box. I did bump the bridge up slightly, though that's more to do with my preference for a slightly higher action than anything else. The finish is great, the fretwork is the best among the 3 I've bought over the last 3 years and I don't see anything I'll need to fix there. If I had to ding it, the paint between the neck and the body run just a hair onto the neck, but I found that because I was looking for it, so not perfect but pretty close. I have pretty high standards when I'm paying around 2k or more for a guitar and this Les Paul meets and exceeds those standards. Short of a custom shop guitar (at a LOT higher price of course) I don't think you'll find too much better. And did I mention it sounds great? ?? I LOVE the stock pickups!

My choice was the Honeyburst. I have to say; this LP is nothing short of stunning in sound, quality of build, playability, and looks!! I'm thrilled with my investment, and happy that she's got a new home.
First issue; the Honeyburst is the only one of the four pictured here that shows it having knob-pointers. Now, why that is; I have no idea. But, mine arrived with no knob pointers as pictured.
Second issue, This Les Paul is a "Classic", not a Standard, not a Custom, not a Studio. Mine arrived with a "Standard" truss rod cover.
Now neither of these two issues are a deal breaker whatsoever, but thought I'd pass on an FYI.

I have to be honest, I ordered a 2019 gold top classic and returned it due to some finishing flaws. Well I have to say Gibson, Well done... This beauty is finished very well and plays like a charm. Perfect action right out of the box and having the coil split/ phase switching allows me to make this my go to guitar. The weight relief isn't what I expected as this girl hits the scale at 10-lbs 5.5oz which is perfect for my ideal Gibson. Avg. spec weights are 8-10 lbs so I got lucky. Worth every penny...

This is my perfect guitar. The pickups are just the right amount of hot for face melting, but clean up into a lush, rich tone. I purchased the translucent cherry, and am very pleased with the natural maple grain. Thank you Gibson for returning to such a high level of quality.
