Impecable quality, for under $1k.
I bought TWO of them cause the first one was so nice.
You get everything you’d expect from Gibson acoustics for a fraction of the price of most of them.
The solid walnut/spruce combo sounds incredible and the matching walnut headstock gives it a little extra character. Super comfortable neck, nice warm tone.
Its literally everything I love about a J45 but for less than half the price.
Beautiful Gibson Acoustic-Electric, hand-made in the US, with an included hard case, truss wrench, humidifier, etc. You absolutely can’t beat this.

and, unfortunately, it appears this model is now discontinued by Gibson, which is a shame. I think I got one of the last ones from AMS.
Anyway, for a bare-bones $999 acoustic/electric, this guitar is nearly perfect - no fret issues, the wood looks really good overall, and the satin finish has no rough spots. Has a balanced acoustic response, and projects well without being too boomy. I haven't even plugged it in, yet, so I can't vouch for the pickup system.
The neck feel is wonderful - wide enough for fingerstyle, and the profile is nice and round, somewhere between slim-taper C and rounded '50s - it feels a lot like my 2020 Gibson Studio Tribute LP.
Lastly, the included hardshell case is fantastic.
All-in-all, a great purchase for the price. When these were first released, I could not believe the price point, and they really did not skimp on the construction, except for the overall satin finish (which I prefer, quite honestly). Unfortunately, it appears this price was unsustainable for Gibson, and I suspect that you will have to settle for the J-15 series if you want a "lower-priced" Gibby acoustic.

No frills. Just an excellent Gibson guitar. Just know that the body is slightly thinner than a Gibson J45.
Doesn’t seem to effect the output at all. Good set up. Fit snd finish are all Gibson. Best solid wood USA made guitar available under $1000. And comes with a very nice Gibson case.

I LOVE this guitar! I wanted to give it a shot instead of the J45 studio walnut because the satin finish just stuck out to me. Just gorgeous in person. The walnut back and sides are BEAUTIFUL. This guitar has such a beautiful voice, great projection, just freaking sings. Action was perfect right out of the box, just a minor tune up and it was great. You want an amazing Gibson that won't break the bank? Do yourself a favor and get a G45 studio.

I'd been searching and purchasing acoustics for a while, and returned a Taylor that I owned for a month but could not get used to, and also sold a Martin that was good, but still did not inspire me to pick it up. When I read about this Gibson G45 ZI knew I needed to give it a try. Well, what can I say, I LOVE IT!
The neck width is a little wider than many other brands, which allows more string seperation for finger picking and chord clusters, the action is low, the intonation is perfect, and the case is Wonderfull!

Granted, it isn't as warm sounding as other acoustics I've played. But not all of us want that bottom-heavy Martin sound. That's not to say that it's all mid-rangy either. For some of us, this is the perfect balance of both. It has just the right amount of warmth and mid-range to high-range to lend itself to cutting through the mix, to the addition of pedals and effects, and for other, more percussive playing styles. If you use the body for percussive techniques, this is ideal. Takes pedals with ease and sounds excellent plugged in.

A name brand product made from solid wood is expensive but Gibson has finally joined with other high end makers to produce a solid wood guitar for an affordable price. I have had this G-45 for about two months and really love it. I set it up to my style of playing, and it plays and sounds great. The solid wood makes all the difference in the world. It isn't "fancy" but is well made. It is comfortable to play and sounds good plugged in. AMS made the purchase easy and they shipped it quickly. If you want a good value instrument that sounds great, this is the one.

This guitar has very stable tuning, a very comfortable neck and string action is quite low for an acoustic. It has 24 & 3/4" shorter scale length like a Les Paul, so it has a little less string tension at standard pitch vs a 25 & 1/2" scale that is most common. This just makes it more playable and adds even more comfort. Satin finish makes for a quick and slick neck.
Build quality is excellent.
American Musical Supply is spot on again with smooth transactions, no intrest payments while you have the guitar in hand, playing it in 2-3 days after 1st payment. They are the best company on the planet for all things music related.

I owned a J45 for years and this holds up to that standard in every way. Sound and build quality are excellent.
Wish the pickup option were better, but at this price, I have zero issues upgrading it. Playing through my AER 60 it was good but not great. Just doesn’t capture the instrument the way a higher quality dual source Fishman or LR Baggs would.
The case is of a higher quality than the one my original Gibson came in!
The “matte” finish is actually a bees wax finish, so polishing and care would be using the same as a sealant. There’s an info card about it in the case candy... overall just an excellent workhorse guitar. Highly recommending.

When I saw that Gibson was marketing a more inexpensive version of their revered J-45, I was sceptical… then I watched a few YouTube videos demoing this new product. I was totally sold!! Great tone, great volume and a great design. AMS made my purchase an easy one and delivery actually arrived 2 days ahead of time (this made my wait and anticipation SOO much easier) All in all a great instrument and a great experience buying it!

I took a leap getting into this thing and I don't regret it one bit, a lot of this guitar is made out of walnut and it smells great, feels great . The action is nice , not too low , not high enough where it is hard to play an F chord. The Projection is great, I found this guitar records very well Mic'd up and plugged in. Perfect studio instrument, great live guitar, gibson didnt cut any corners with the sound , feel , and playability of this instrument. One last thing, the case is super nice. My G-45 arrived intact with a beautiful brown leatherette hardcase, almost perfectly tuned ! Action is spot on and the tone is robust. Lots of projection and quite loud. Powerful mids and bottom end. Medium sparkle in the highs. String balance is perfect! Very lightweight, very resonant. The guitar came quicker than anticipated, so that's a plus. AMS kills it as always with shipping.
I bought the minor blem model that was available and the only things I could see wrong were a small indention on the side of the fretboard and one of the bridge pins had a mark on it. Nothing earth shattering or reason to complain. Banged up guitars don't bother me, but....
The reason I mention it needs a pro set up is that it's clear Gibson cut costs on the neck's fit n finish. The frets are sharp, a couple are poking out. The sides of the fretboard are bumpy and look/feel like they weren't sanded properly and they were just lacquered over. Lastly, the bridge sits to high so the overall action is high past the 5th fret (even after trussrod adjustment), so the graphtech bridge insert needs to be sanded down a bit to bring the overall action down some.
Would I buy a cheap Gibson again? No.
Will I return it? Not unless I have to. It sounds great and has the mojo.

Lots of people talking about the demise of Gibson. Completely overpriced. If your not a Doctor or Lawyer you can’t own a Gibson. Becoming out of touch with who their customers are. Hard working musicians who are never paying $4 Grand for a guitar. That is all 100% true and what a shame it is. BUT everyone agrees their is one part of Gibson that is still putting out quality product At a fair price. The Gibson factory in Bozeman, Montana. This is where they make their acoustic guitars. When I came across a Brand New Gibson Acoustic for $999. I had to look twice. When i found out it also included a case. I said to myself how are they doing this? Then read reviews for two days online about this Gibson G45 Studio. Every single one Was positive. So I jumped in and purchased this for my sons birthday. I had another guitar picked out that I was going to pay $650 for but I said for $350 more I can get him a made In The USA Gibson. So I went with the Gibson. Got the guitar delivered super fast from AMS. Opened the case, got a big scent of Walnut and Spruce wood and looked down at a brand new Gibson built in the USA. Great feeling! Was set up perfect. Tuned it up and it Sounded awesome. My son plays it everyday and I’m really impressed with the sound. Not sure how they pull this off. It has no fancy inlays or any cosmetic bells or whistles of any kind. But the sound and playability are fantastic. It’s a super deal. I highly recommend this guitar. Just not sure how long they can keep selling this guitar at this price point with a Gibson case & a Pickup. Thanks AMS for great salesmanship, picking a good one for me and shipping it super quick. No complaints. Gibson has a winner!

My primary point of reference on Gibson acoustic tone is a J45 Standard I previously owned, but unfortunately had to sell As few years back due to hard times and expanding family. I didn’t think I would find another guitar within my budget that could compare tone-wise, but the G45 Studio is right there. I received it that day after ordering, unboxed, put in the Humidipaks, tuned up a few hours later after letting it acclimate, and just like that...the Gibson goodness was all there! The G45 Studio definitely has a more open tone than a mahogany J45, but the sound signature and playability of the J45 is absolutely there. What a wonderful sounding guitar, and beautiful as well. This guitar is going to absolutely disrupt the market in this price point, because you simply cannot get a quality, US hand-built, all solid wood guitar with a hard shell case at this price.

If your thinking about buying one of these guitarsa all i can say is..DO IT!.this is hands down the best sounding most beautiful guitar that i have ever owned and is almost effortless to fret!..the walnut back and sides are beautiful and the finish is beautiful..best 999.00 i have EVER spent.without looking closely you cant tell that it is electric..pickup controls are hidden just inside the sound hole on the top and are easily reached while playing!...the hardshell case is of a much higher quality than i had expected!..super deal!

Gibson has created a masterpiece on this one. The all solid wood construction leads to an amazing rich tone. The set up on mine was really good right out of the box. And I LOVE the neck on this! It has some "meat" to it, not like the slim necks that I don't like on Martins and Taylors along with some other Gibson models.
Very comfortable to play. And with the Gibson warranty and a nice Gibson hardshell case included, you cannot beat it for the money. This became my #1 acoustic guitar the day that I took it out of the box!

I bought this guitar without ever having played it and was not disappointed. The set-up from the factory was perfect. The neck feels comfortable in your hand and the finish makes for very fast transitions. I used to own J45 Rosewood, and I had to sell it because I needed the cash. It broke my heart. It was my favorite. Now years later, I had the opportunity to replace it by ordering the G45 Studio on a 12 payment plan from AMS. First of all, I ordered this guitar on a Wednesday evening, and it showed up on my doorstep early Friday afternoon. The shipping was right on the ball. As far as the guitar goes, I'm more than impressed! I was expecting a little less tone than my J45 because of the price difference. Instead, in my opinion, I got more. The G45 has a very crisp, clear, and rich tone. Granted, it's not quite as flashy as the J45 was, but at my age, I feel simpler is better. It's a simply beautiful guitar, and a future heirloom.

Some have said this guitar has a fatter neck shape but I don't believe it does. I've been playing guitar for over 50 years and have owned many guitars and this is a very comfortable neck for my small hands.
The G-45 delivers a beautiffully rich tone with good projection in midrange and a bright but not tinny top end sound. The Walnut is beautiful and works well on this all wood guitar.
The Case is well fitted to the guitar and is a nice addition.
Well done Gibson! Buy one and you won't be disappointed!

Let me begin by saying that I did a ton of shopping around for different acoustics. After about a week of searching, I decided on the the G45. After looking into other retailers, they were all sold out. AMS was the only retailer that had it in stock. I placed my order and got my guitar in 4 days. All I had to do was put some Elixir Polyweb Custom Light Strings on it and it was ready to play. It is the best sounding guitar I own and I think I have about 20 acoustic electrics. Although I've only had the G-45 for about a month I can see it becoming my go to guitar. I can't wait to record it miced up with a condenser microphone. The guitar came set up very nice, easy to play, low action and no fret buzzing at all. The case it comes with is beautiful as well with vanilla type smell. Thank you AMS. Peace, Michael Angelo

Great guitar! While I would have loved a J-45 or a Hummingbird, after 50+ years of noise, musical and automotive, I feel the G-45 suits me just fine. As well, I like the satin finish which allows for my age induced clumsiness (insert laughter here) and the neck profile is great as well. I usually go with lighter strings, I have BFG .007"s on a Les Paul Tribute, I like the .012's that came on it. I also keep it tuned D#2 as it arrived, it really brings out the tone. Gibson did a great job offering legendary sound and quality at an affordable price.

So this is my first quality acoustic. About a year ago though, I bought a bottom dollar Gibson LP so I knew I could expect great action, a respectable set up out of the box, and that I would be supporting an American business.
The sound is fantastic. Warm and rich. Chords just sound fantastic on it. Fingerpicking is a hair easier to me than other acoustics due to the 16” neck radius and sliiightly wider nut. I was reading that bar chords would likely be harder for the same reason, but I find that my guitar has the action so low that I am having an easier time barring on this one than any guitar but my LP. I love the walnuts effect on the voice of the guitar and the striping on the back is neat and unique. Case is classy and solid. Came with a basic leather (I believe) strap, cloth and of course the truss wrench.
The downsides. So my guitar came in with three blemishes on the top. Two that look like small burns from when the spruce was cut, the other in the finish on the binding. None are major, but if I was going to get a blemished guitar, I would have preferred to pay the blemish pricing.
I also believe that AMS should think twice about FedEx being their courier in the future. Arrived late by a day and the driver put it on my porch with the arrow (which says this side up) pointing at the ground. I literally opened the door before he had gotten back to his truck, and as mentioned, the case is solid. So no harm done, but it could’ve easily gone another way. For rhe record, of four packages shipped to me by FedEx in the last thirteen months, only one has been on time from the shipped date. Its not a one off for me.

Plain and simple, if you want a good guitar that’s not going to cost you an arm and a leg, this is it. I have 2 Taylor, a Martin and now this Gibson. Price point is the same... this one blows them all out of the water. Plus, with a beautiful hard shell case, you’re not gonna beat this guitar.

The neck is comfortable and smooth
With guitar is light weight....iy sounds beautiful unplugged ( I did put elixir medium strings) on her and she comes to life....came perfect set up out of the box....and plugged in ...its amazing.....i play it everyday....the case is also first rate....for gibson to offer this much for this price...american made is unbelievable ......thank you American musical for the 12 payments .....i never would have been able to buy a real gibson with out you guys.....had it in my hands with in 3 days of ordering it......

I was a little worried about buying this guitar because of the price and it came with a hard case. Man was I wrong! This thing sounds and looks amazing!! Everything is perfect on it with no imperfections and was set up perfectly when I received it. I don’t know how Gibson did it at such a low cost but I’m glad they did! I would put this up against many other higher priced guitars. I haven’t had a chance to plug it in so I can’t speak for the electronics but the acoustics are amazing. If you’re not sure about it, buy it, you won’t be disappointed

I love this guitar, I have barely touched my PRS or my Breedlove acoustics since I got this one. Everything about it is everything I love. As I stated above it is real close to the Woody Guthrie acoustic guitar sounds that I hear in my mind. I play mostly worship music both modern and vintage and I get all I need from an acoustic guitar out of this one. I recommend you try one. If anything is or goes wrong with it Gibson will repair or replace it with out any hassle.

This instrument is wonderful. It is everything you expect from a Gibson. Although it lacks in cosmetics it more than makes up for it in playability and tone. This instrument delivers volume and rich mids, clean bottom end and bell like highs. My only caveat is the location of the piezo controls in the sound hole which are almost impossible to adjust on the fly. This instrument is highly recommended .

Gibson knocked it out of the ball park with this one, has that great Gibson sound, this is a very affordable guitar, it’s all wood so your not getting that HPL stuff that is being used on some guitars. The neck is slimmer so it’s easy to cord, guitar was done set up, out of box,ready to play! Very happy.

The Gibson G45 Studio is gorgeous in every way. This guitar sounds amazing. Very bright and clean. The Sitka top projects a powerful and crisp sound. The walnut back and sides are the prettiest wood I've ever seen on a guitar. The satin finish gives the wood a 3 dimensional look. It plays as good as it sounds and looks. It's very smooth. It also sounds fantastic plugged in. I couldn't believe how great it sounded the first time I plugged it in. This guitar also comes with an awesome hard shell case. Also the price is an unbelievable value. I guess you can say I love this guitar. I look forward to playing this guitar for years to come. This is the 4th guitar that purchased from AMS and I couldn't be happier with every order I've placed with them.

I bought this without ever having tried it in person. I know, this is risky. But I was relying on the Gibson name and had decided I'd just return it if it didn't work out. I was happy to discover that it felt and sounded great. Action is just right. Not as bottom-heavy as a Taylor, but I wasn't looking for that sound to begin with. Once I plugged it in and started added pedals, I was truly surprised at how amazing it sounded. Plugged in or not, I found it useful and very musical.

Man what a great Gibson guitar for the price. Very bright sounding. Personally I’ve found it great for chord strumming and finger picking styles. The hard shell case it comes with is a solid 5 star as well. This is my first acoustic Gibson and I gotta say I was not let down. The neck is pretty chunky, but has an extremely smooth and comfortable feel overall once you get going. I’ve played this thing everyday since it’s arrived, I absolutely love it

Bass & Mids that beat $5,000 Canons and Thompsons! Switch out to Elixir 13's and you will love it. If the D-18 or D28 is out of your range, get this instead! My favorite bands use custom guitars, or expensive models, and this not only stands out with favorite artists, but also adds its own unique, deep walnut flare! Be sure to call in and speak with any American Musical technician. The Fishman pickup is very clean sounding, but Ive only used it once because it sounds awesome without amp. 5 star b/c sound is awesome, Made in America, and an amazing everyday player guitar. The case is also really nice hardshell Brown with Gold clasps and double padded neck rest. Also ask for the best out of the door price, or customer appreciation discounts available for folks like me on a budget. Tell either Zach or Tyler Phillip said to call on this review!

I bought this guitar because I was tired of hauling my vintage Guild/Gibson out to bar shows and long flights for gigs. I was always afraid of losing or damaging my high-value guitars.
What I got was so much more. I've used the G45 for every gig since I got it. I've fallen in love with its tone and playability. I've had it for 2 months and have logged 40-50 hours of playing live with it. great tone, great feel and super sturdy.
I will probably swap out the stock pickup for a passive one at some point in the future. I generally prefer passive pickups over active pickups. But, it works great for now.
If you are looking for that classic Gibson sound, feel and craftsmanship on a budget, don't hesitate. this is the guitar for you.

For any American company to sell a US made, all solid wood guitar for under $1000 is unheard of. I know Gibson has had a rough go the last few years, but I feel as if they've started turning it around with this guitar. I've had it for about two months now and play it weekly for church worship services. Perfect action and intonation, nice sound with the solid walnut and spruce top. Have nothing negative to say. Beyond what I imagined it to be...perfect.

I love this guitar! It plays very nice and has a great sound. This is my first Gibson and I was excited to see if it met all my expectations, it succeeded and so much more! The sound is full and the playing experience is great! I am glad I purchased!
The case that the guitar came in is great! It has a soft padding on the inside to protect the guitar and has a nice storage area on the inside. Very impressed with the case!
Working with AMS has been great! The customer service is wonderful. Anytime I called they answered and were always kind, answering my questions no matter how small. I will definitely purchase something from them again in the future.

I purchased this guitar for taking out camping once I received the package, opened it up.. wow this guitar plays amazingly straight out of the box! I think my j-45 custom shop will be a case queen I prefer this g-45 over it!! I honestly didn’t have a lot of expectations on this one but believe me it’s a gem. If you are thinking about buying this guitar just do it. Trust me you won’t be sorry. The tone is great. The action is perfect. There is no way you can go wrong. I mean after all it’s a Gibson!

Action is great, the tone is bright and warm at the same time with overtones ringing in your ears. Gibson did a great job on this one for a grand. Love the look and feel. Still sounds better than the most expensive Epiphone. The case is "ok", the strap that holds the case lid upwards ripped off the first day. But I recommend this guitar for the price all day long.
