The guitar sounds amazing!!
However the guitar top where the pieces join below the bridge was finished terribly.. a visible line where sanding or finishing was done poorly and even a split in the finish from the bottom binding up at the seam. The ‘plush Quilted deluxe case left diamond shaped abrasions in the back finish that did not come out when cleaned.. there are buffing marks all over the finish. I returned the guitar. I bought my first Guild in 1972.. I own 7.. this was a big disappointment!

Have played Fenders, several Martin's and now my first Guild, a D55. I must say even though the Martin's have a great sound, they seem to be a bit into the Bluegrass arena. For the pure country sound, Guild is the way to go. The sound from the D55 jumps out at you, very bold! A great guitar!

I bought a D55 30 years ago after searching not by brand, but by feel and sound. This guitar is like the grand piano of acoustic guitars. Sound is deep and resonant. Action is amazing and she holds the tuning perfectly.
