The layering and mixing aspects of the board are top notch. If your ever wanted to have a band sound without a band, this board can be the whole f***ing orchestra. Its biggest draw back thus far is the size. I've had this item for about 2 months now but will probably have it forever.

I purchased the HeadRush Looperboard Pedal as a Personal Recording Console or Recording Hub. I had noticed that others online had done so too. The unit has so far performed outstanding at this function. I don't do live Looping so I can't judge it as a performance pedal.
I use the Looperboard as a simple tactile way to build my recordings away from my computer, then import them into my DAW at a later time. The vocal effects, looping functions and instrument effects are outstanding. And the clarity of its audio interface is second to none.
For me what really makes the Looperboard shine is its 7" display. I can work with the unit for hours on end without eye strain or tiring. Once you learn the menus, finding the right function is easy.
The Looperboard has become the heart of my recording setup. It's way more sophisticated than any mixer/recorder and way simpler to use than a stand alone multipad. My only problem with the unit is its limitation of 4 tracks. It does bounce tracks, but that's not for me. 16 tracks would be perfect. But if there was a desktop model with 8 tracks, I would pay $1200 for it in a heartbeat.

If it worked as advertised it would hand down be the best looper on the market, but its not worth getting into the features because... it doesn't. They want you to pay to beta test it.
First problem is that the foot switches are garbage. Aside from being unreliable, look at their forum, you'll find people demonstrating that they plain gave out after a few months. There's already a thread about how to replace/upgrade them. How could they not have known about this?
I filmed a crashing issue early on. They updated the the firmware and that problem was fixed. That got my hopes up so I decided not to return it. Of course now its too late and the glitches and bugs have piled up since then. I've used it at three gigs and its crashed at least once each time, requiring a restart.
MIDI tempo lags behind and fluctuates. they say they fixed this in the latest firmware update but I see no change.
The touch screen is a game changer, but it also has issues. The keyboard falls asleep and won't come back without a restart. So if you need to save something... sorry.
Supposed to work with expression pedals. I plugged mine in and assigned it to control one track volume. Instead it muted all the tracks completely and they can't be turned back up. Have to restart.
The undo/redo feature has a mind of its own. It regularly gets confused. Now I can't undo/redo without triggering stop/start. I've double and triple checked the settings and even did a factory reset. No luck.
Serial mode, where it goes from one phrase to the next, sometimes also gets confused and plays multiple tracks simultaneously. This should not be possible to my understanding. Maybe my reading comprehension has failed me. Regardless, it happens often enough.
Maybe mine was just a lemon. I posted videos of this stuff on their forum, didn't get anywhere. An exchange has been initiated but they're out of stock so its going to be two months to get the replacement that I don't even want.

it's just a little too much menu surfing for me. It's probably fantastic for someone does complex looping, I found that it seemed like I had to be real precise when exiting loops - with the equipment I have I end menu surfing all the live long day. Think I'm just gonna get the beat buddy and use my daw for looping
this has a lot of great options and you could really get in deep with it, but but then I might as well just use my daw lol
the only reason I gave it 3 stars is because they need to mait a tad more user friendly on the routing. I couldn't really make heads nor trails out of the thing

Don’t even hesitate about the durability of this fantastic product. It’s the best in the real world of performers and creative musicians. I bought 2. One from AMS and another fro eBay.
I can’t wait for an upgrade to 6 or 8 channels version.
