Got a Lemon

Product Review
I have bought over a dozen guitars online with no problems in the last couple of years. This is the first time that I had to send one back to a vendor. I bought the metallic copper version. 1st of all it had super sharp fret spout. Like almost drew blood from my fingers sharp. I am not kidding. Plus a half dozen fret wires where pulling away from the fret board wood. I could put sheets of paper under the frets from the edges and even one I could put a credit card under it! That is not good. Next I saw what appeared to be course paint brush marks with the copper paint under the clear coat. The brush marks went in all directions. This guitar was not air painted. The clear coat had a long line imperfection that ran from the bottom of the bridge towards the bottom strap nut. You could see it at certain light angles and you could really feel it when you ran your hand over the area. I have NEVER had problems with Ibanez products before and I have no idea how this guitar made it past any quality control is beyond me??!! It is too bad because the back of the neck felt good in my hands and the pick ups were decent. I did not expect a perfect guitar at this price point, but I did not expect it to have these bad defects! I wished I got a good one and not the lemon that shipped to me...

Nice Guitar!

It will need a little work, but not much. Considering the price, that's not surprising. It does have a little neck dive and some frets will need just a bit of filing. I'll put on some decent strings, do a slight truss rod adjustment, and it should be all set. The action is set nice and low, and I really like the tone.

Beautiful guitar. Plays great. Lightweight and holds tune. Mine had very sharp fret ends. Besides that the neck played great. Nut cut perfect and no high frets.

I was hoping to save this review until I bought an actual BMG but...This shitty guitar never plays the chords I want it to play. It only knows three but we'll see what happens.
RIP Freddie.
Honestly, all Ibanez guitars are very good. Keep rocking, folks.

Requires work by a guitar tech to make guitar playable

Product Review
The green AX120 was not playable out of the box. Taking it to my guitar tech tomorrow to correct fret sprout (sharp fret ends hanging over the neck), no intonation on string 1 within the first several frets, and string 6 comes over the fretboard sometimes when fingering. The pups sound ok but nothing special, and the tuning machines seem ok (not too loose or too tight). I recommend this guitar for the money if you don’t mind having some minor work done. In general, new guitars need to have the neck set up anyway, so the above noted issues will be addressed as part of the set up. No big deal, but don’t expect to do a plug and play right out of the box. My advice is too shop around, bc there are other budget electric guitars out there that are also a lot of bang for the buck (e.g. Epiphone Les Paul). I have been playing guitar since 1958 and am still active.

Product Review
I have no doubt that the Ibanez AX120 is a great beginner guitar, but the quality control on the guitar I received was really bad. The fret ends where so sharp they could have easily cut my finger if I slid Don the fretboard. The look was beautiful but the was a deal breaker and I had to return it. As far as the sound was concerned it was OK, the pickups were pretty weak sounding but I had planned on swapping them out anyway. Overall, the guitar is a
Good for beginners ot anyone looking for a budget friendly new guitar.

I just received my ibanez ax120 today in copper metallic. It arrived in perfect condition, no loose parts, no blemishes. I recommend changing the strings when you get it. The stock strings sounded bad but i put some ernie ball regular slinkys on and it sounds amazing. Also my frets were rough when i got it but after a few hours of playing they smoothed out. I recommend it, its sweet!!??

What a wonderful instrument! I have had this guitar for a few weeks now and been addicted to playing it. This guitar plays like something in the $350-$500 range.
The build quality is really good. I do find that the 3 way pick up selector is a little wobbly but it hasn't been an issue for me so far. The Tone/Volume pots have a smooth action and they look nice to boot. The neck is super comfortable and a joy to play. The pickups sound awesome. I bought the Baltic Metal Blue version and it was a little darker in person than the images show so keep that in mind if you are looking at that specific model.
Overall I really don't have any major complaints with this guitar. For $199.99 you can't beat it. This would make an excellent first guitar if you are learning, which is what I did. The thin neck will make learning easier as well.

I purchased this guitar to start playing guitar again after many years. I wasnt expecting much for the price but was pleased to find this guitar much more than a basic beginner instrument. Right out of the box the guitar was pleasantly playable with nice intonation and action. Since the purchase I changed the strings with Ernie Ball Super Slinkys and it plays even better. A few days later I purchased a Fender Champion 20 Amp and I am very satisfied with the combination.

I’ve owned a handful of guitars from Ibanez and they’re usually set up pretty well out of the box, but this one was so far from my experiences in past purchases. Pickup height was weird like they just screwed them in just enough to secure them and left it. The bridge was set ridiculously high so the action was about 3x higher than it should’ve been. Intonation was way off. The only thing that was right was the neck was straight, but after adjusting saddle height and intonation, I find that the frets need leveling. I’m hoping that this is just a single lapse in Ibanez’s quality control, and not an indication of how things are now.

I've played acoustic and acoustic electric for years, even electric bass. First time I've bought an electric of my own. With the recommendation of a fellow guitarist, I tried his Ibanez and liked it. That was enough for me to order. This is a different model from his but is an outstanding entry level guitar. And the price is right. Compared to my two acoustic electrics, the neck on this is like the difference between baseball bats and a pencil. I love the slim neck, but the action is so easy too. If you're looking for an entry level, start with this. I am not disappointed in its playability. I bought the candy apple red. In retrospect, I'd have gone with one of the blue colors instead, but color is not the same as sound. I'll live with it.

To be honest I have never heard of this guitar and i was looking for a good Ibanez guitar, after watching some old demo videos on YouTube I decided I’d take my chances. The day it got here I was excited. The neck is smooth and fast. The frets are all leveled. The half pickguard is a really cool edition to the guitar that brings its style. My personal favorite thing about the guitar is the Classic Elite pickups. Makes the guitar have a amazing tone along with great sounds. 5/5 starts I would highly recommend.

I was looking for another SG style guitar and found one in green. An actual Gibson would cost more than most of the stuff I own. So,I took a look and order it. Amazing sounding guitar much like an SG. I play a ton of doom metal and I'd put it slightly against my Epiphone.
