Being an entry-level guitar I wasn't expecting much, but having had it for a few weeks now I've found it to be better than I expected. The three pickups and five way selector switch give a good variety of sounds and I find myself playing it at home as much as I do my more expensive ones. If you're looking for a reasonably priced guitar for a beginner I don't think you can do much better than this. It looks good, sounds good and is easy to play. Can't ask for much more than that.

Took the guitar out if the box and my first impression was, "this was supposed to be a quilted top". But, it was very inexpensive so maybe the quilting is very subtle. I get it under some good light to inspect it. There is absolutely no discernable quilting to the finish at all. The color is nice if you just wanted a purple guitar. But, that wasn't what was pictured or described. Otherwise the guitar was fine for the price range. I am sending it back though and getting something different. AMS has already issued the RA and shipping label within 8 hours. Great customer service as akways.

For a very inexpensive guitar, this guitar is way better than the comparable Fender Squier at the same price point. I bought one of those for my kids and have to say that this guitar (bought for me) is so much better than the Squier in every way. From the finish to the playability, this guitar is so fun to play and sounds fantastic. In fact, this is my go to guitar to just grab and start playing. It hangs on my living room wall for easy access. I hook it up to my Line6 Spider V MKII and it sounds like a $4000.00 Guitar. This guitar was set up and only needed a slight intonation adjustment on the Low E string. Everything else was dead-on!
You will not be disappointed if you purchase this guitar for you or your kids. It is a budget guitar so expect a possible imperfection or two but it will not affect how it plays and sounds.

The transparent green finish is gorgeous but that's not as important as playability. The guitar was playable right out of the box after getting it in tune. I do need to change the strings out for better quality and adjust the action a bit, but, aside from that, this guitar is amazing for the price! I couldn't recommend it enough to both beginners and seasoned players.
I've noticed some people complaining about tone and have to wonder what amp they're using because my guitar sounds great. So far, I've ran it through 3 different practice amps: the Fender Mustang 1v2, the Marshall MG 15CD, and the Pignose 7-100R. Got good sound out of all 3 with no issues whatsoever after fiddling around switches and knobs and whatnot, which you have to do anyway with any guitar. Decent amps make a huge difference.

Pros: The Trans Violet Sunburst is a beautiful color. Almost a perfect match for my first unknown Ibanez model from a pawnshop. Feels great and strings 1-4 play good.
Cons: Strings 5 and 6 have some fret buzz that I'll have taken care of as soon as NC's governor lets us out of our houses and the repair shops reopen.
Overall I like the look and feel. Once I get the fret buzz worked out It'll be a good player for some jam sessions.

Horrible guitar for the money! Not set up at all, and I do mean at all. The strings are worthless. It looks fantastic, incredible finish, blah blah blah. But Ibanez obviously just threw these things in the box and dumped them off on the customer. I have been messing around with it for an entire day and I simply cannot get it in tune at all. Don’t waste your money on this POS.

This is my 4th Ibanez so I'm very use and comfortable playing these guitars. It's well made and has a fast neck.The pick ups sound good but if you want more of an agressive sound I would recommend an upgrade, depending on what music and sound you're looking for,overall it's a good guitar for beginning and entry level playing.

I've played off and on since my teen years. Started with an $80 less Paul jr, a replica 58 epiphone gothic v (sadly stolen) and a Dean Razorback (boy I though I was hot shite!)
Years go by and I want to play again. I'd since sold ally gear and turned that 1st guitar into the guest book at my wedding.
This guitars been rad to get back into it! The neck is smooth (side from a few feet nicks) the body feels sturdy, and the trem doesnt go too far out of tune when you screw with it. Not to mention that gorgeous purple paint.
Combining this guitar with Rocksmith is letting me get back to basics and "start from scratch "

Looking to purchase an electric guitar is not an easy quest, with the many brands, prices and craftsmanship
of guitars available.
I was looking for an electric guitar that I would feel comfortable using as a beginner. The Ibanez guitar stood out for me time and time again especially with the great reviews received.
The features that stands out for me is the product craftsmanship. It would be nice to have a bundle package included eg: (bag, stand) but this is not a deal breaker. as I rationalize I could get these items at any

I've been shopping around for an electric guitar for some time now, and have finally narrowed it down and made the purchase about a month ago. I couldn't be happier.
Hope anyone who is currently contemplating purchasing their first electric guitar would get on board and not be left behind. :)
You wouldn't regret it.
As a frequent online purchaser , when evaluating a product, I always rely what reviews others have written, good and bad. Pay attention to the star ratings, they matters. This makes it easy for my product selection and cuts down the buying process.
As long as companies makes quality products and customer wants a fair price I feel its a good marriage.
I would highly recommend the Ibanez Brand electric guitar to anyone looking to invest in a product that would last a very long time and feel happy about their purchase and future product enjoyment

I was skeptical at first being what you would call advance guitar player. The price didn’t seem enough for what the description said I was going to get. For a guitar on a budget, I highly recommend this particular model of Ibanez, The GRX 70QA. She’s tight, she’s compact, light and very maneuverable. For 200 bucks I highly recommend this machine. It’s great for beginners and people that have been playing for 20 years. With really beautiful colors to choose from (I couldn’t help it, the purple caught my eye) And a fretboard like a slick track, you can’t go wrong. The Ibanez GRX 70QA, She’s a screamer baby!

I well equipped instrument. At first I figured it would be a nice basic guitar to have around the home, but I soon realized that it’s playability serpassed my expectations.
A smooth and flush neck/fret board, stays in tune, and I’ve already used it for recording right out of the box.
I seem to use this guitar more often, rather than my other guitars now due to its versatile sound easy pick up and play capability.
A great buy.

I had to do a little work on the fret edges top and bottom with a small tooling file. They had jagged edges. Not real bad but enough that I noticed it moving up and down the neck. Otherwise a great guitar. I really like the way it sits on me when I play sitting down. My Strat likes to move around when sitting but the Ibanez just falls naturally to a spot and stays put. After tweeting it in and doing a full setup which I always do. It is a great playing good sounding guitar. I also changed the strings out as always because I like the Daddario nickel wound light top/heavy bottom strings . Holds tuning great.
Great quality. Hard to believe it came from China.
It is a little lighter than my Strat. Neck is real nice size for my hand and it has very little or no clear coat on it so I can actually feel the wood.
It was good on all fazes of sounds from an acoustic sound to real dirty metal tones.
Paint is beautiful and I have always liked the Ibanez shape.
Others that have seen it can't believe it only cost $200.
I really think I got a good deal on this one.
Like most every guitar I have ever bought new. I just go ahead and change strings out to match my own style of playing and do a complete setup. But it was very playable as is if I wasn't so picky.

It's not a bad guitar, the strings were terrible, I changed them out right away. It really wasn't set up very well, almost everything on it had to be adjusted. Sort of got the feeling they just threw it together and got it out the door. But if you adjust it and change out the strings it's a pretty good little guitar.
The body, neck and hardware is excellent and once I gave it some TLC, it plays great, some of the best sustain I've heard. Might change out the pick ups because I like my guitars to sound a little hotter. But for practice and just general playing, it's great.
Feels very good, the neck is extremely fast, it's light, the controls are solid. It's quite fun to play, add a little overdrive and this thing can get very nasty.
Good tone, it can go from sweet to nasty really quickly. Pick ups are not as hot as I like but as is it can still get mean and dirty.
Excellent finish, a lot darker than I hoped, I got the blue one and it is so dark it looks black. But the finish is flawless.
About average, a good guitar for the money.
Out of the box it was a mess, the strings were terrible, the intonation way off so it needed a little work before it was playable.
