Product Review I have been primarily a guitarist and keyboard player for the last few decades, however I got my start as a bassist. I recently decided to get a bass and start practicing seriously, but didn’t want to commit too much cash till I was sure I was going to keep at it. This Ibanez bass was a shock! The quality is better than most basses we’re back when I was playing, and I would definitely use this in a professional situation. Now back to the woodshed. Five stars for quality for price

Product Review Very happy with my purchase. Identical to my Ibanez GSR 200 except for the active pickups. It came set up very well and I even like the stock strings. Been looking for one in black and finally found one.

Product Review I ordered this bass for a spare/practice instrument, but it has found it's place as my full time bass. I have owned several Ibanez basses over the years and really love their look, feel, and balance. This instrument is a perfect one for the new player or an experienced player needing a dependable, great sounding bass that you don't have to worry about as much in case it gets damaged or lost. At $179 with free shipping from the great folks at AMS, I have almost as much in the "soft case", as I do in it. It has a monster bottom end, feels good playing, and it actually makes me look better.

Product Review I purchased this bass for my daughter who is smaller in size and has smaller hands. She loves it. She plays it in the church praise team and it sounds great. It amazingly didn't require and additional setup. The next was aligned and positioned well. The sound is tight, full, and quite punchy without sounding boomy. I was nervous buying a guitar of any kind online. I can safely and with confidence say that I am completely pleased with this purchase.

Product Review I am very happy with my Ibanez bass. I knew I wanted something that would get the job done of me learning to play the bass but not kill me money wise. Another friend of mine that plays very well got his start with the same bass. I recommend this for anyone.

Product Review Nowadays it is hard to trust online companies with your hard earned money. However, after reading great reviews I’ve decided to give American Musical a try. The process to buy a quality bass guitar was extremely simple, form start to finish. I didn’t mention, the pay as you play option. Let’s face it we don’t always have the cash to spend right away. The pay as you play zero interest program allowed me to get my bass in two days, and now I am rocking! I would recommend this company to my mom! Cheers!

Product Review This is a simple, no frills instrument. The construction and feel are surprisingly solid. Only minor adjustments were needed out of the box. I originally purchased for my 10 year old son, but I enjoy playing it too. Good value.

The bass itself is really well made, very sturdy. There are no features, it's just one pickup on a bass. no frills. Want a bass with more features? Triple your paying price. Has a nice tone, I really like how it sounds. However this is a bit of fret buzz. Your general opinion of this product. I really like the bass, it's a damn good deal at $100... You can't even buy a used fake no-name brand for $100 anymore let alone a quality bass like this. I'm new to bass, been playing guitar for 12 years and drums for 16. I like the action of the strings, but I'm not 100% what the action of a bass is supposed to be like since I don't really play one... at least prior to this one lol. great tone, slap and pop sounds killer on this bass. I actually wanted the natural wood bass but it wasn't on sale. So I sprung for the black stained wood bass... have to say I wasn't excited about it. But when I pulled it out of the box I was wowed, it looks really good and I'm definitely happy about my purchase after seeing it in person. I'm new to bass, been playing guitar for 12 years and drums for 16. I like the action of the strings, but I'm not 100% what the action of a bass is supposed to be like since I don't really play one... at least prior to this one lol.

The one I played had a good fit and finish. It seemed really sound. Really good value. Traditional length neck. Good range humbucker pickup. Mahagony is a very good tone wood for snap and dark tones. F/the $, it's just right. Nice range. Good tone. Supersonic it ain't but it's not meant to be. Good projection. It feels light and well balanced in comparison to other basses. Smooth neck w/well placed frets. Volume & tone knobs accessible and basic so you can concentrate on your playing. It's comfortable. Handled bright to dark well. Smooth, Old style passive, humbucked tone that was fuller than my old P-bass. Clean, simple, handsome, classic mahogany finish. No issues. This had a good low action and was easy to play. No string rattle issues. Good intonation.

Piece of Junk

Poor construction of the neck/truss rod Great, but after setting the neck, the pick-up was really loud. Tried to lower it, but it only would go so far. Low strings distorted my amp. Snappy. Nice finish SUCKS! I had to adjust the truss rod, but the first few frets bowed, no matter what I did. I had to file the frets. The nut was cut too low on the G string. Finally got it right action wise, proceeded to adjust the pick-up.....Would only screw in so far. It was too close to the E string, making for an overdiven sound. I'll just put it in a stand next to my other basses as a collectable, but a failure. Dig deeper, buy a better model! Or a Fender.

You wouldn't know this was a $170 bass. The bridge is beefy, tuners are solid, all the hardware is secure. Simplicity. The sound from this thing is pretty mean. Great for more aggressive styles but totally usable in any situation. Great balance of bottom end and clarity. Not a "boomy" bass. Played and felt great out of the box; didn't require a set-up. I really enjoyed the feel of the neck. Overall very solid and balanced. That's one mean humbucker. I had the matte mahogany finish, and it's really very nice. Darker than it looks in the pictures. It's stained, not painted so it will be very durable. Action was about as good as it could be. Played great, smooth.
