I figured this would be at best ,an okay instrument for recording bass tracks on my recording projects. Boy was I surprised. First off, I bought tge transparent red and it is sexy! After unboxing, a quick tune up, and a few minor tweaks to the neck? Bam! Instant groove machine. You just can't do better at this price point.
Happy camper here, don't hesitate. Pull the trigger!

the price is perfect, i paid a lot more on my last bass and i didnt like it.

I've owned several great basses over the years, and they've all been Ibanez basses. This one is no exception. Who says you can't get a nice bass without spending a small fortune? I love this bass! It's lighter than you'd think, and everything about it just FEELS GOOD. Intonation is perfect. Neck is smooth and narrow, just the way I like them. A real joy to pick up and play! I've been playing guitar and bass for four decades, and I still go with Ibanez every time. AMS is a solid company too!!! They have great products and easy financing. I highly recommend this company, and this bass. 5 stars!

Not only did my bass arrive quickly but it was already tuned up! Like how? Pristine Condition, set up nice and ready to Rock straight away! Action is excellent, neck smooth and over all craftsmanship much better than I expected for the price! Pickups sound excellent and with the active pickup rolling it truly makes a wonderful sounding difference! Cannot recommend this bass any higher! Have played several expensive basses and at least one Fender didn't match up to this! Buy it. You won't be disappointed!

This bass feels good and the action and intonation we're ok out of the box. It is light and easy on the neck and back. Tone is a bit wonky but can be dialed in nicely for most types of music. It is well worth the price.

The thing I noticed from the first time I picked up the bass is that it's very light. I was worried about the sound, because most of the light bases i've played don't have the greatest of tone/sustain.
But, when I plugged it in, I was blown away. I really like it. It's not a $1500 bass, but you can gig on it all day long.

So the walnut finish right out the box .... just stunning. Only took some small adjustments ( less than 5 minutes) and it was to my liking. I’ve played more expensive basses that didn’t sound this good no matter what I did. For the money this could really beat out some higher end basses. The pickups although they are stock are actually very responsive and bring some great tone.

I've been playing guitar and bass since the late '80s. During that time basses have come and gone from most every price range. I was looking for a cheap backup beater when I bought this one. The reviews made this bass out to be a decent player for its price. I can tell you this: if you are looking for a good budget bass, this is one bass you should absolutely consider! It is by no means a heavyweight instrument intended for constant thrashing beatings, but it is a nice and easy on these old shoulders. The build quality is quite good considering the price. The frets are level with no sharp ends. The stock tuners do hold tune well. The pickups are decent (not great), but the active tone boost does add a lot more punch. Now, as with most guitars and basses, you will likely need to adjust the bridge and truss rod a bit (to set the intonation and to set the action to your preference. This bass is my backup for any live work and gets regular use at home for practice and demo recording. In summary, grab one of these and you won't be disappointed!

After Trying This Ibanez Bass Guitar out I had to get It. It's SO Easy To Play And Sounds Fantastic E specially For an entry level bass guitar and for the price you won't go wrong. The Neck On it is so easy on the hands and fingers play those jazz runs with ease. I like the split precision pickup with the jazz pickup at the bridge and you have four knobs to dial in your sound. Very light weight and affordable. great bass!

Great bass for the studio. I found reviews of the GSR saying that it was the perfect inexpensive electric bass for studio owners who simply need to lay down bass lines for demos and small projects. I recorded a couple of tunes with minimal processing and I’m really happy with the EQ. For me the boost knob is too much, not necessary. The thing has great equalization just as is. It also has good balance and the neck feels good if you’re not a prob Great for beginners or studio musicians!

The quality of this product is fine.I play rock & blues and for this type of playing it's just what the doctor ordered.
Everything on my new bass looks fantastic.My favorite feature is the finish paint.The jewell blue is beautiful.The only upgrade I plan on is replacing the control knobs with metal ones.
I was very happy with the light weight of this instrument.It makes it much more enjoyable to play for extended periods of time.
The tone was satisfactory since I rely mostly on my other equipment for final tone.
The finish paint job was what I liked the most.Looked A-1

decent active electronics, fast playing neck...one bass to really get a hold of

highs can get a little sharp depending on your settings,nice low end
the neck plays fast and easy. pretty decent tone can get fairly loud, which is good

Well, mine wasn't well made. It had that blemish and also, the 9V battery compartment cover was drilled in crooked and was stripped.
I'd add some Bartolini pickups to it. Already have actually.
Has somewhat good tone. I get alot of buzzing from it.
Neck feels amazing. It isn't heavy at all and feels great. Controls are easy to get to.
Sorta bright. Can't really explain its tone.
Mine was Pearl White, looked good but there was a blemish on the back.

It is well built, mine has no scratches or blemishes after 8 months.
The features are...ok i guess. took me awhile to figure out what the other two knobs were for. I still dont really know how to adjust them for sound. When they are both off u get almost no power, so i always have them cranked.
The tone is good if u like high trebel sound. The split pickup isnt very good for deep bass tones. It is good tone for the price though.
Its nice and light, and the neck is thin and fast.
Its more of a...i dont wanna say jazz bass but unless u have flats on it, ur gonna mostly get trebel sound. The strings on it are good. I didnt change mine until about, 7 months after i started playin bass; i changed to flats because i love the deep bass sound.
The finish was great, mine is Pearl White and it hasnt smugged or scratched after 8 months of tough playing.
I got mine used so it was a little high but i had it fixed but then it was too low so i fixed it myself and now its perfect. Im satisfied.

QUALITY:
This was my first bass, and, for a starters bass, it is top quality, seems like it should cost around $300
FEATURES:
I felt the EQ didn't do much, it seemed like if you turned everything down, it would have no volume, turned everything up, you had volume, not mush in the way of tone shaping
EASE OF USE:
This is still a great beginners bass, I played it right out of the box (after tuning) and it sounds the same it does now
VALUE:
Ibanez could have easily justified adding another $50-100 onto this bass, a great deal
SOUND:
The neck floats all over the place whenever you tune it differently, but after retuning a couple times, it'll hold the tuning like a rock. The pickups suck though, especially in a studio setting, when I plugged it into our bands recording equipment, it made a faint buzz, like an overdriven amp, messed up the recording. THIS IS NOT A STUDIO GUITAR. The neck moves in odd ways,

OVERALL:
Definitely a great first bass. If I got another any time soon, I'd just want one with an overall different sound - the sound on this is not bad, just not exactly what I was looking for. It might just be my amp, though (Crate 15 watt), because as soon as I put it through a Digitech modeling processor and found another amp model, I LOVED the sound.
QUALITY:
The overall quality is good. I have not found any construction problems, only the strings are very cheap. I recommend replacing them as soon as possible with something heavier. I used Hartke transient attack strings (.45-.105).
FEATURES:
The two different pickups with separate volume control adds a lot of different sound options. The transparent red finish is beautiful (particularly for a $200 guitar). The pictures don't look anything like the real thing.
EASE OF USE:
There's nothing hard about this guitar. It doesn't weigh too much - it's way lighter than a Gibson

This one the neck is a little bigger and I have some trouble getting the top string. Other then that it is great! if you don;t have the right amp it won't sound as good as it could! This product is without a doubt one of the best made basses i have ever played in my life. It is extremely reliable has never stopped working and it does everything so well. FEATURES:
The fantasticly thin neck makes this bass a joy to play. I played a squier p-bass before this as i had only started playing bass and it made one hell of a difference. You have not played a decent bass until you have played this!

QUALITY:
I bought this for my son, and it is a fantastic bass at the price. The only hassle that I have is one of the knobs came loose, yet it still works perfectly.
EASE OF USE:
This is too easy, plug it in and jam. Finding a decent tone is as simple as turning the knobs.
VALUE:
IT is definately worth the couple of hundred. I would have paid just a touch more for it.
SOUND:
This is a decent sounding bass. It does not compare to the high-end basses with Bartolini pick-ups; however, I use it as a back-up bass, and it has survived the wars.

My friend has this bass, but he doesnt play it. Every time I go to his house I stay up all night playing it untill he gets jelous and yells at me so he can go to sleep. I like how it has J and P style pickups that are easy to contoll. Really good deal for beginners, and I could see someone useing it professionally

This is a good beginner's bass or an acceptable back-up bass. Much better that some of the lesser expensive instruments I've played. I compared it to the Yamaha and thought it was much superior.

I first tried this bass @ a local music store in Mobile,AL. This bass is so easy to play because of the narrow neck you can really move and groove with this bass. I have recently purchased one and have not set it down yet it is AWESOME. The 1 thing that I don't like about it is they use cheap strings @ the factory so I recommend restringing with ERNIE BALL SUPER SLINKYS BASS STRINGS. Once again if you are just taking up the Bass guitar I hihly recomend this AWESOME BASS.

QUALITY:
this product is very well made, and it seems to be dependable and sturdy! the quality that ibanez put into this bass is extrodinary. my brother tries to play around with it and its been dropped before and it still plays like its brand new. I expect to have this guitar for a long time.

this bass is really easy to use. I have small hands but I can play this guitar with ease

I hadn't played bass for years, but bought this after I was asked to join a band that was forming. I planned on buying this for the price and making an investment in a "better" (read more expensive) bass later. I have no plans on replacing this. I love this bass. It is extremely comfortable and sounds excellent. The tone that I get out of it is so thick and so deep it sounds like an analog synth, but when slapping or plucking the strings the high's and mids I get are crisp and defined. This is great bass, and not just for the price, it just is.

very well worth the money. its a great learning tool and it doesnt cost a whole lot.
SOUND:
my only beef with the bass. i like the slap tone on this but i wish i could have more of a billy sheehan kinda tone.. but if youre a beginner you wont care about this at all.
OVERALL:
ive had this for 6 or 7 months now and im looking for a couple more months to replace it. im progressing pretty fast and im simply looking for a nicer sound. but one things for sure im not about to sell this bass anytime soon.

I've had this bass for 5 months and the only thing wrong with it is that one of the strap buttons came out and strppied the wood inside the hole. I had to glue it back on! It sounds great if you have a good, warm amp, like a Bassman. It sucks on my Ibanez amp, unless I use my Digitech BP200. Overall: Good quality, tinny sound. I wish I'd bought a GSX!

It's my first bass and it sounds good to me. Good for slap, pick, and pluck. Isn't much to the electronics on the bass. I didn't get any fret buzz when it was shipped so the action was good. I'd highly recommend this for anyone learning bass. Rock on!

Very easy to use. Mine is almost always in tune. I have dropped it and yep..still in tune

Get this bass! Even if it will just be for a back up. It is worth more than what they are asking.
