I bought the Ibanez Jem Jr. to experience the excellent ergonomics the Jem and it didn't disappoint. This guitar on you feels like you're wearing it and with access to the 24th fret via its contoured neck joint it can help the novice of the seasoned player become a master shredder. The trem stays in tune despite how much it's abused. Now can we get a 7 string Jem Jr?

Obviously a huge name , both guitar and artist. Craftsmanship was on par to other guitars in this range and beyond. Fit, setup and function are really impressive and regardless of intent it can produce whatever tone your wanting. I buy from all the sites and have to say AMS has best line of communication, best most consistent selection and easily the smoothest acquisition of any instrument. I appreciate ya all and strike up a riff ????

This guitar actually arrived with no high frets and nice edges, very nice for out of the box at this price. The Quantum pickups cover a wide range of tones and the finish was blemish free. If one chooses this guitar with some basic modifications can match much more expensive guitars and really must be seen in person, these do look great and really stand out. I have many Ibanez from the RG series from the "standard", "premium", and "Prestige" series, and if you don't mind a bit of work, the Standard's and JR's hold up very well considering they are half to less than half the price. Highly recommended.

the guitar is worth the money 500 is not a lot of money these days for a good guitar. I think it needs new hardware for performance. it meets my needs right now but i would like to put a good trem on it edge would work or a floyd it also needs a good pick up and new keys and polls for better tuning stability

I have always wanted a Jem , a white one specifically but could never afford one. I couldn't really afford a Jem Jr until a new job and AMS payment plans. This guitar looks awesome, I have already gigged with it and it awesome. I'm so excited to play it every day. I love it.

I wish I had purchased this a long time ago. It was a champ right out of the box. This is one of the very few times in 50 years of buying guitars that I actually purchased an instrument and not a project. I’m amazed at how well it was set up to rock from the get-go. AMS must take great care of their stock because this was perfection in a box when i got it. Crisp and clean, aesthetically astounding. The sound encompasses everything I look for but i got it in this one guitar. Rough and rugged tones for grinding out ripping leads, sweet mellow tones for ambient music, unmatchable warm and hot tones for clean country and soothing jazz. You just cannot beat this guitar in quality and sound in this price range! You gotta get one of these!

for a not terribly expensive guitar I must say the neck and the fretwork really stuck out as well done. the ones on mine were done better than the ones on my fender Strat(which is American) perfectly leveled and crowned . thanks AMS. would recommend to anyone .

First? Out of the box the action was HORRENDOUS! Which I guess is to be expected. Not really for an Ibanez, but whatever. Second? When I went to hit the note on the fretboard after the 12th fret on the high E, it fell right off the fretboard! The pickups were actually VERY good though. Ibanez Quantum pickups are actually pretty tight which was surprising. Thought for sure i would have to replace them with Dimarzio's. Not the case! The guitar looks cool. Sounds cool. Plays cheap. Too bad. I was really hoping for an awesome guitar.

The best guitar on the market for 500 bucks. This guitar simply rules. It rings and sings like a $1000 guitar but it only cost half the price. It’s truly worthy of Steve Vai having designed it. If anybody feels this is a knock-off or a cut-rate guitar they are really missing the boat. This guitar is as good as some one thousand or $1200 guitars I’ve had in the past. Fantastic instrument ??.

as a long time guitarist, especially in the 80's. I have several high end guitars. Old Custom Jacksons, Gibsons, Fenders.....I even have an old RG 550 from the late 80's. I always wanted a JEM, but never really got around to buying one. So when I started looking at them.....I really did not feel like spending over a thousand on something I probably was not going to play often....so I opted for the JEM JR. What a shock, this guitar packs a punch, the pickups sound great, and this guitar played great right out of the box. I usually hate stock pickups and usually the set up out of the box stink, not this little bad boy. beginner to pro, this guitar is awesome, best guitar for the money. I play mine all the time. Even bought the pink one, now I have two. AMS makes it easy to get one with their rock star payment plan.....best 500.00 I have ever spent. Get one!

I got this guitar last month. It's been great to have such a quality instrument for the price. The neck feels nice and fast. It stays in tune no matter how much you abuse the wammy bar. The range of sounds with the pickup configuration is exactly what I was looking for. A great deal for a Jem. Even if it is Jr, it plays like the more expensive models.

Beautiful guitar, feels great, couldn't play it due to 2 broken strings, i haveto take it and have it restrung because i never owned one with the Floyd rosse system!! I'm sure it will be fine once the setup has been done, i did play one at the store an must say love the feel and the instant action of the strings!! It practically plays itself! Hope to enjoy soon! I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!! The sound that comes from it when its played is pure and smooth. The style is unique with such added detail. I'm the proud owner of a white Jem Jr.-- which I had received as a Christmas present. It plays and feels awesome, and it sounds great in just about any amp I plug into! I truly feel the Jem Jr. is one of the best Ibanezes I've ever owned, especially at this price point! That said, I do wish Ibanez would produce this model in the same bright yellow, pink or green color schemes as their 30th Anniversary Jem 777 series, but as part of the regular lineup... they'd definitely have a winner.
And yeah, I'd love a Jem Jr. in green!

This is more guitar than I need, the whammy bar alone sets this guitar above and beyond any dream of competition on the bang-for-your-buck scale; wow! Plays like a dream right out the box. Not a guitar wizard; more of a punter, me; but even I can tell this is five times the guitar you get for the money from anyone else, other Ibanez models included. Hard to imagine the other JEM models for $1000 and more up are so much better, after you get past the pretty paint job; but whatever. Beyond my wildest dreams; I love to play a variety of instruments, but if I could only have one, this is it! LOVE LOVE LOVE my Vai JEM JR

I bought this guitar as a "scratch and dent". There is literally nothing wrong with it. (believe me I checked!) It looks beautiful and it plays even better. The wizard 3 neck is really thin, so even though my hands get sore easily, I can play it a lot longer than normal. Perfect for shredding!

well like all brand new guitars, it had to be set up to my specifications (neck adjustment, bridge adjustment, tension springs, new strings etc...)and usually with all new guitars that I purchase, I always replace the bridge humbucker. but not on this guitar as soon as it was all set up and ready to go. I plugged it into my gear and it was perfect for my style of playing and music (I play in a heavy metal band and I also play instrumental rock/metal). I play live shows and this guitar is now my main stage axe. surprisingly it has replaced my IBANEZ PRESTIGE model.

First off the woodworking is very good, it's quite smooth in the lion's claw, and the output jack is pretty good; the monkey grip seems perfect, very nice finish. The rosewood is dark with a tight grain, excellent inlays. I gotta say the tree of life is very tightly CNC'd.....totally awesome stuff. As far as the sound goes Im an EMG guy, have been for 15 years...that being said these humbuckers are great....I think the first passives Ive ever really liked. They are extremely hot with alot of harmonic overtones, again very cool stuff. The hardware is where the cost were really cut. The brige is not really that bad...but I'm used to a Schaller floyd rose. With enough abuse you really gotta check your tuning, Ive only had the guitar for about 5 days, and the trem seems to be more resilient to slayer-like trem work. Bottom line is for 500 your getting 10 tons of guitar here, I mod everything i ever buy so for this money mixing and matching bridges and pickups are nothing.
