I’ve read almost every single review on this model and the overall take was hit or miss.
Well I musta lucked out because this thing plays great! I had no paint blemishes, was smooth around the monkey grip, frets level, neck relatively straight and after a home set up, twice oiling the fretboard, with a fresh set of Super Slinky’s dropped down half a step she was solid. Tremolo unit not as bad as I had read or expected. The bar will get loose after use but I’ve got it holding tune very well.
You can’t pull the bar up like the big brother Jems without an almost immediate fret out and the obvious answer is raise the bridge but then the action is too high to enjoy playing. Pickups are really decent. They clean up well. Was probably the main factor over the White or Black. The White Jr just looked and felt plain in comparison. After owning a JEM7v and playing a thousand gigs on it this is a nice little reminder of what fun that was!

This is my second Jr. I purchased a white one then i liked it so much i bought a yellow one as well. Very well balanced and easy to play. All the features are adequate for an instrument at this price range. No complaints after 2 years since the first Jr.

I purchased the JEMJRSP in Yellow, and so far I had to set bridge, action, and nut height. The neck was pretty much bowed back because the truss rod was too tight. My tone pot is so tight it barely moves, and will be replace with CTS pots as soon as I get them. The retention screws for the intonation were loose, and I ended up breaking a string because of that, and the fact ALL of the tuners at the headstock were loose as well. I know $500.00 is not much these days, but as far as I am concerned quality control has a FAILED stamp from me. Buyer be ware!

I have always been a fan of the Jem. Always wanted the 777 since those are hard to find, I went with the remade junior version. I love it. The only thing I don’t like about it, is the monkey grip the portion where your fingers sit, it’s a bit rough on a traditional Jem it’s all very smooth.

This guitar Looks awesome. It’s a great price for a signature guitar and is pretty good value. The Trem is ok. Doesn’t hold up to huge dive bombs but does just fine otherwise. The guitar immediately needs a setup. It’s intonation was terrible action high and the Bridge was wonky as hell. After a set up it was wonderful. The split coils in the 4th position sounds great. Pickups are pretty good but not the greatest. The bridge is a little tinny. All things considered for this price I’m nitpicking. It’s amazing for the price and you’ll never touch a Steve Vai Jem for anywhere close to this price. I recommend it highly.

After Fedex dropped this off at my neighbors house by mistake and I had to steal it off their property, I opened to find one of the strings broken and several spots needing cleaning as there was still buffing compound residue in the output jack and in the monkey grip. With a little elbow grease, cotton swabs and some guitar polish, a new set of strings because getting the plastic film off the pick guard was actually miserable and required taking off all the other ones. I got to learn how to string a floating tremolo which wasn't on my agenda and after the hour and a half of figuring that out finally got to play it. It plays great, despite my likely underperformed setup. Its a beautiful guitar, just pray it arrives to your place and with the strings all in one piece.

I was extremely surprised at the quality of this guitar. It played very well right out of the box, and the Infiniti pickups actually sound decent. I own over 40 guitars, and a recording studio. For the cash, this guitar is a home run. AMS makes it to easy with their hassle free no interest payment plan also.

For the price point this is a "Real JEM". After a little tweaking (set up) it played well. The pickups are not top; but cut through. The frets may require a slight polishing to smooth any string bending. Other than that the value is there. I definitely recommend as an as is keeper, or to mod to personal taste.

I'm by no means a guitar junkie. I got a starter guitar about 6 years ago and have dabbled, but never anything serious. I was long overdue for an upgrade and this was the perfect next step. The neck plays great and the pickup switch offers alot of great tonal variety. The floyd rose is a lot of fun to play with though it is a complete pain to tune. When I received my guitar I had some minor buzzing with the bottom string open, so I adjusted the truss rod and fixed it but it took a while to tune it and get the bridge to set right. This is the kind of thing that just takes practice. If you can afford to reevaluate how you tune your guitar and want a great shredder guitar, get this puppy. Plus, it looks sharp too.

I will start off by saying the only thing I do not like about this guitar is the pickups. They sound tinny and cheap. The edge tremolo stays in tune well. My guitar was set up straight out of the box. It didn’t have any rough fret edges, or any noticeable defects in appearance or function. I decided to go with the yellow version of this guitar and saying it is bright is an understatement. I received my order from ams on time, and everything was neatly packaged with no damage. I would recommend this guitar to get your foot into the door of the JEM world, but be prepared to swap out the pickups.

This guitar is solid. It’s just a RG450 with a paint job and vines. The full vine inlays are what sold me and they are done very well with this being a fast production model. I’ve had a few real ones through the years.
Do not buy this guitar if you’re trying to get close to the real deal for only 500$. You’re paying for the look, not the feel or the sound or the craftsmanship from the Jcraft guys. However, I’m not saying it’s cheap guitar. It’s a solid 350$ mid range Ibanez with a paint job, Floyd, and full inlays for 500$. Great deal. I put green knobs and a strap on mine. Looks great on the wall.

I have to say if you are looking for a guitar to spice up your love of playing then this is it! The neck is super fast and easy to navigate. The tremolo setup is great for dive bombs and trying to make dolphin noises. Heavy solid body. I had to get the guitar setup professionally due to the 1st and 2cd frets being too high but that was easily resolved. This is my first Ibanez and I love it! I have a Frankenstrat, a Jackson and a Fender Telecaster. This hot pink JEM jr is my favorite by far! I cant stop playing it. It inspired my to try the Vai 30-hour workout.

This guitar is absolutely fine for any of those who want to have fun and be passionate while playing the guitar. The neck is fast, Fret board is flat, and pickups scream!! Could you make this a better guitar by upgrading the pups and Floyd Rose? Of course, but then you might as well get the regular Jem. This guitar is a solid, fun, very playable piece of art!

besides the trem arm getting a little loose when using a lot .I would say all in all the Jem jr is a nice guitar for the price . Upgrade the trem and search for some ibanez backstops and it would be a great gig guitar .. Still fun to use for a couple songs in the later sets .

Everything you have ever wanted and nothing but the best of it, it’s playable and worry free, an absolutely Delicious sound and comfortable feel, the worst thing I can say is “ I wish it can with a case”, but pound for pound and dollar for dollar it is far ahead of the rest,
I have a lot of guitars, for all round playability this one is an overall 5 Star , A1, all around go too guitar that will not disappoint on any level, treat yourself to one, you deserve it,
